ECHOED HEARTBEAT

"Daddy!"Ava screamed as she ran towards her Dad.

Ava is his only daughter and she is currently 6 years old but acts like she is 10.

She is his only source of happiness and he never wants to see her cry.

"Daddy,you rushed out yesterday and when you came back,I was asleep" Ava said as she pouted her little lips.

"Am sorry darling! Daddy is so sorry!"Vincent said as he carried her up in his arms.

"You are always forgiven Dad!"Ava said as she hugged him tight.

"Patricia,please make sure you take care of my darling."Vincent said as he pecked Ava chubby cheeks.

"Bye Daddy!"Ava said as she waved till he left.

"Let go princess!"Patricia said as she held Ava's hand.

Outside the building, Joelle waited outside patiently for him to come out and now he is here.

"Good morning Sir!"Joelle said as she reached out for his suitcase.

He didn't reply as usual. It has become his daily routine to always ignore her but she didn't stop greeting him.

He head towards his BMW and he got in together with Joelle and the door closed behind them.

The ride to the office was quiet and awkward till they arrived at the company.

It was like he was being suffocated in the car despite the AC blowing heavily as he stepped out of car without the assistance of the driver.

Joelle rushed down from the car and towards his side.

"Can we maintain distance!"He said as he walked in.

Joelle rushed in faking a smile while deep down, she was hurt.

Just as the elevator door opened, he stepped in.

"Take the next one!"Vincent said as he ushered his assistant to have his suitcase.

The elevator door closed on her face shocking her. He hasn't done this before so why now? Why today? Gosh!!

Joelle rushed into the next elevator opposite even thou it was filled with her subordinate.

"Good morning Miss Joelle!"They all greeted her as she stepped in.
