She was very not okay. William was involved in a terrible accident that at the cost of it, she had to pay a price. Will completely forgot about her. He had memories from only a year before their meeting. She was doomed. Mack, her father was on her neck reminding her every single day of the contract she signed at the age of ten. Mack wants her to marry the man of her choice knowing exactly that Stella was married. He was the one who blocked men from ever courting her. He was the mastermind behind his daughter's not ever befriending people of the opposite sex. Stella never knew and thought it was bad luck. Not until Will showed up. But his accident made her return to being aloof. The questions still linger: will Stella marry her father's choice? What happens then when William regains his memory?
Knock knock
Stella heard a loud knock on the door. She was busy and didn't want any disturbance. She looks up at the door and puts her pen down.
"Come in," she said and resumed to her laptop.
"Sorry ma'am," a servant spoke apologetically. She walked further into the room and placed a tray containing three covered bowls and went back to the desk to inform her mistress what she had brought.
"I've brought you dinner. Please eat something!" The servant girl tried to sound formal.
She and the other workers have tried their best to make her eat something
This morning, if they had not used her husband's name, who is fighting for his life, she wouldn't have taken anything.
They were all very hurt.
Yeah!
The young master of the house was involved in an accident that he is still in the hospital fighting for his life.
Yet, this stubborn woman here seated wouldn't eat.
Stella paused her typing on the computer. She nearly forgot she was in the study with somebody.
"What are you still doing here?" She asked in a firm voice but sullen voice.
The servant girl bowed her head immediately and clasped her hands behind her. She didn't dare stare at that beautiful face.
'The mistress thinks she is angry. But her beauty is rather illuminating.'
The girl kept her head still down.
"You, your food is... here," she didn't know how to put it to her.
Stella raised her head and snapped at the innocent girl who is only doing her job
"I'm not hungry. Get it out of here,"
"But...but"
"Don't make me repeat myself!" She yells at the girl who ran to get the tray. She ran out as if being chased by a wild beast.
Stella covered her face with her palms and burst into fresh tears.
It f*cking hurt. So bad to that she felt like joining him in the hospital.
***Two days before
Stella walked into her office beaming with smiles from left to right. She is in a very good mood today.
Anna her assistant slash friend came in to give her some files.
She liked it that Stella was back again and wanted to know the cause of it.
Anna stood in front of her friend's desk with her arms crossed in front of her.
Stella who was busy going through the file she had handed her felt a shadow on her.
She looked up to find Anna still in her office and also at the same spot where she was given the file.
"What are you still doing here?" The smile vanished off her beautiful face with a cool bright one.
"You two spoke last night," Anna confirmed it with a guess and received a nod from Stella.
"He's coming back tonight!" Stella poured it out. She couldn't hide her joy.
Anna heard giggles from Stella. She stared at her friend with wide eyes and a smile tugged up on her lips.
After a second thought, she walked out quietly. Stella did not notice that as she had resumed to looking into the file.
Anna was happy for her friend. Finally, she can smile again.
William is away on a business trip. It is almost three months making his little wife, became very sullen.
She wouldn't eat nor even agree to walk around. Only work mattered. Stella would work twenty four seven without breaks. If anybody confronts her, the case will worsen.
Nobody wanted her to return to her aloof self!
She was once like this, until William entered into her life two years ago.
She just hopes nothing goes wrong.
***In the afternoon
Stella still worked and did not go out to have lunch. She wanted to only work, then go and wait for Will at the airport.
She was busily typing when Anna burst into her office. Stella was ready to reprimand whoever that did that.
She held in her words after discovering it was Anna. She looked miserable with tears pouring down her cheeks.
"What is the matter?" She asked with fear building up inside her.
Anna does not answer and quickly hands her the telephone in her hand.
Stella didn't want to take it.
Anna urged her to.
She firmly pressed the phone against her left ear and whispered a little "hello,"
She heard a man's eager voice. "Is this Mrs Williams?" The guy asked.
"Yes, it is me," Stella answered, still wondering what she got to do.
"I'm sorry. Mr Williams just got into a fatal accident. We are taking him to Lifeline Hospital..." the man informed her.
Bang
The phone was no longer pressed to her ear but on the floor.
"Hello, hello, are you there?" The voice asked. He still had something to say.
Anna took the telephone and cut the call.
Stella was already on her feet collecting her things.
"Tell Steve to drive me to Lifeline Hospital, immediately." She commanded.
At least she wasn't going to drive!
.
.
.
Stella ran upon seeing her cousin-in-law there.
"How's he?" She asked clutching onto his arm.
"He's in the ICU," Joel replied. He also just got there and found out William was in there.
He helped her into one of the seats.
"He's going to be alright!" He assured her.
Stella was not listening. She had driven to her
own world after hearing ICU.
Joel shook her body that was lying in the seat.
"Somebody get a doctor!" He shouts after realizing she had passed out.
He need not to worry. She was only weak because she hadn't taken anything to eat.
The doctor had informed him.
***Present
Stella was in her study after Joel had restricted her from going out. It had been two days now since she heard about the accident.
She had no choice but to work. She couldn't fall asleep either.
She heard another knock on the door.
"Sorry ma'am, the door was opened." She looks up to find the same girl who came in earlier.
She was without food this time.
"Mr Williams is back," she went on to deliver her message. She didn't want any insults.
Stella sat there, unmoving. She racked her brain to compose what the servant had just said.
"What did you say?" She asked again to confirm the girl's words.
"Yes ma'am, but..." She didn't get to finish her words as Stella already ran out of the room.
Please listen to me.
William stood in the hallways admiring the interiors of his mansion. He was lucky the accident did not cost his life.
He looked up the long staircase and saw a beauty running down.
He turned to ask about her but couldn't.
The lady was already clinging to him. She was hugging him very tight.
Will has no choice but to hold her there.
How did she do that? He was confused as in how Stella quickly came down.
His hand held her small body in place. He somehow liked the feel of her soft skin against his.
But who was this lady?
"Are you alright?" Stella asked after breaking from the hug. Her hand roamed Will's face checking him there for any injuries.
William stared down at the lady touching him.
Her touch was soft and gentle and afraid to break a bone.
"I'm sorry. Who are you?" He asked. He wanted to know who the lady was that she was touching him that much.
He didn't even let his girlfriend touch him at the hospital.
Stella stared at her husband. She was on the verge of crying.
" It's me, Stella. I'm your wife, Stella," she explained.
All the workers in the mansion had gathered around. They all had their heads down.
This is what the servant girl had wanted to say but, the lady had left before she could say it.
