"Athalia. Are you still a virgin?" Mahesa asked. The question stunned Athalia's body.
"Why are you asking me that?"
"I'll make sure your sister gets treatment until she's cured, but you have to be my bedmate for a month," he said, causing Athalia's eyes to widen immediately. She had not expected Mahesa to make such an offer.
Mahesa is the perfect physical embodiment of a man. His face was handsome and stern, and his gray eyes could always captivate anyone. Athalia, who had only been with Anderson's company for a year, was no exception.
Every week, Athalia saw top models take turns coming into Mahesa's office. Their goal, of course, was to get a date. Athalia was not surprised.
Mahesa, with his handsome face and wealth, can attract high-class women to his bed if he chooses. Just by looking at his handsome face, women would be captivated in an instant. Perhaps Athalia was the only one in the office who wasn't interested in Mahesa.
Today, Athalia ventured into Mahesa's office and bowed before him to borrow money. Athalia also said that the money would be used for a transplant for her sister, who suffers from leukemia.
But it was Mahesa's sassy reply that made Athalia's face turn red.
"You are my boss. And I know that with your money, you can spend time with any woman you want. But I'm not that kind of woman! You think you can just lure a poor woman like me into your bed? That will never happen, sir!" she said through gritted teeth.
"Why not? I've been used to getting what I want since I was a kid. I don't want to insult you, but you suddenly came to my office and borrowed money from me even though you haven't worked in this company for a year. Do you think I'm your uncle to whom you can just lend money?"
"I am giving you my best offer. You need my money, and I want your virginity and service for one month. If you agree, I'll give you the money for free. I'll even pay for your sister’s treatment until she’s cured. Think about it, Athalia. My offer is very attractive, isn't it?" Mahesa's lips twitched in a mocking smile.
"You are very cunning, sir. I've never met an asshole like you," Athalia whispered.
Mahesa shrugged indifferently. "That's the way I am, Athalia," his lips curled into a thin grin.
"I know you're a rich man, but you can patronize not all women. I'm not willing to give my honor to an arrogant man like you." Athalia's eyes stared intently into Mahesa's gray ones.
Athalia's hopes were dashed. She thought Mahesa would feel compassion and be kind enough to lend her money for her sister's medical expenses.
But Mahesa was not as kind as she thought. Instead, the man asked for the very thing Athalia had guarded all her life. How could Athalia give her honor to Mahesa?
Mahesa laughed and shook his chair slightly.
"Are you sure you are not interested in my offer?" challenged Mahesa. "And next time, I may not make you the same offer. I'm just being generous today."
"I was wrong to borrow money from you, sir. I retract my decision. Forgive me!" Athalia held back her anger and was about to turn around when Mahesa spoke first.
"Then I will fire you today!"
Athalia was surprised to hear Mahesa's words.
