Chapter 1 Part 1

Lily feels trapped in a complicated stream of emotions. She tried to cope with the devastation that was before her eyes. Her crying was unstoppable, and feelings of guilt filled her heart. She pondered momentarily, trying to seek understanding and face the harsh reality.

"I'm sorry, Aditya," Lily murmured silently, burying her face in her hands. "I never meant to hurt you or ruin our wedding plans."

She tried to understand that the fault lay not only with herself but also with Erlan, who seemed to have deliberately created this mess. However, Lily felt she was the victim of perfectly planned intrigues and secrets.

Meanwhile, Erlan was still sleeping peacefully, seemingly unaware of the devastating effects he had caused. Lily ponders whether she should reveal the truth to Aditya or keep this secret to herself.

Her once peaceful and hopeful life has become a whirlpool of uncertainty and doubt.

In her grief, Lily seeks the strength to face the consequences of this inevitable act, contemplating the next steps in her life, which is full of drama and uncertainty.

Before the terrible events happened to her, Lily had just finished working at a prestigious fashion house in Paris, France.

"Anetta, do you want to go home together?" Lily asked her co-worker and friend.

"I can't, Lily. I have a date with my boyfriend tonight," Anetta refused.

"Alright, then I'll go home first. And don't forget, there's a wedding dress fitting tomorrow," Lily said.

Lily stepped out of the fashion house, feeling satisfied with her work for the day. The Parisian twilight began to decorate the sky, creating a mesmerizing sight. She walked down the street with light steps, savouring the city's enchanting atmosphere.

Arriving at her apartment, Lily was relieved to be able to relax for a while. She opened the door and was by a warm and cosy room.r work is neatly arranged on her desk, reminding her of her journey in the fashion world.

Lily calls Aditya to tell him about the wedding dress fitting tomorrow. Aditya's voice on the phone gives her warmth and encouragement. They were planning for a bright future, not knowing that an unexpected event would change everything.

For a moment, Lily sat at her apartment window, enjoying the beautiful night view of Paris. She reflects on her life journey, grateful for the success of her career and the happiness she has found with Erlan. However, unbeknownst to her, dark clouds have begun to appear on the horizon, threatening to ruin the beauty she worked so hard to build.

Lily Yat suddenly felt hungry and wanted to eat something hearty. She decided to go out in search of the restaurant she wanted.

"It's already too late. No wonder the streets are so deserted,"

She thought, trying to push away her anxious thoughts. Soon, two black cars approached and blocked her path. Lily had to brake suddenly to avoid a collision.

"Oh my God, what are they doing?" she exclaimed in shock. Several armed and well-built men got out of the cars, one of them pointing a gun at Lily.

"Get out, quick!" he shouted. Terrified, Lily hurriedly got out of the car with her hands up.

"Who are you?" she asked. But suddenly, someone smothered Lily into unconsciousness.

Lily fell to the ground with confusion and fear filling her. She also felt as if she was floating in the air; a male voice spoke as if he was vaguely reporting the results of his work.

She was very sure that she had

been kidnapped.

She wanted to rebel but could not do anything to free herself.

After a while, Lily slowly regained consciousness. Her eyes opened slowly, and she realised she was in a reasonably bright room. Her head felt heavy, and she felt something cold on her wrist.

She tried to move her body, touching her throbbing head.

"Who did this?" mumbled Lily, trying to remember the last event before she passed out.

Her mind drifted to the black car and the gunman threatening her. Fear took hold of her heart, and she realistis that her life might be in danger.

"Looks like you slept pretty well, slut!

Suddenly, Lily immediately noticed the presence of a man in front of her; the man looked handsome yet had a frightening aura.

"Who-who are you?" Lily asked, pulling her body away from the man before her.

"And, where- where am I?" Lily looked back around her.

"You are where I am, where you need to be."

The man smiled sarcastically, noticing Lily's overwhelmed expression. He stood before her with a sharp gaze that made Lily even more uneasy.

"Don't worry, Lily Gabriella. You are under my Protection now," the man said condescendingly.

Lily tried to understand the situation, "Protection? What do you want from me? Why are you doing this?"

The man just laughed coldly, not giving a satisfactory answer. Lily continued to try to break away, running towards the closed door, but unfortunately, the plea was surprised.

"Go away, please! I don't know what you want from me, but please let me go," she pleaded with teary eyes.

However, the man only smiled wider. "Oh, Lily, you can't leave before giving me what I want. You have something very precious to me."

Lily felt scared and confused. She had no idea what the man meant and what he considered precious. Her future, which was supposed to be full of light and happiness, was now filled with uncertainty and unexpected threats.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
