La Doña

The Garcia mansion is known for many things and one of it is that Demitrio Garcia offers no mercy to the hands of his debtors, his name alone strikes fear to those who went against his wishes, he made them pay in several ways using the art of legitimate business to cover up the dirty and malicious deed of his family, even then no one could stop him.

Demitrio might not be cold hearted afterall, there was always a warm place for his daughter, Lorraine Rivera Garcia, his most priced possession among all the riches he has added up till date. The love Demitrio had for his daughter was the only weakness he had and that he knows that his enemies could use against him, which made him develop fear for her life.

Hiding her away from the world, Demitrio taught his precious daughter that the only way to live in this world was to trample on every of her enemy no matter who they were, he made sure that before he is gone that his daughter shall become the next Don of Esmeralda.

Lorraine followed her beloved father to every hunting trip that her father organised to strengthen and make accurate the aim of his men. At the age of eight, Lorraine had already killed several birds of the sky and to her father was more than ready to kill her first enemy, an enemy that her beloved father made for her.

Bang! The sound made from Lorraine's rifle as she yet again drops an innocent bird from the sky, her father clapped his hands and even his men were impressed.

"Next time dear, shoot two birds with one bullet.... Weldone" he brushed her hair and pat her shoulders. "That's my daughter right there!" Demitrio praised yet again and his men couldn't be in more agreement with him, Lorraine smiled at herself.

Sometimes one can always be satisfied with what's being given and Lorraine was no less one of them. It was true that she enjoyed her father's company and so was his men's but she had always wanted to be around people her age and do things like they did, even behave silly and get spanked for it but her fate wasn't in alignment with what she'd wished for as her father hated to let her off his sight.

Her strong agitation for a live outside the walls of the mansion was soon heard as her father surrendered to her wishes and allowed her attend the only school in Esmeralda with strong security following her to protect her.

Lorraine might've been happy she was getting out of the mansion but she was soon to find out that her beloved father had been right all this while.

Her inability to read and write at that age became a set back for her as most of her classmates insulted and called her dumb for not being able to write her own name, she would pride herself by shouting that she could shoot a gun as if that was the most logical thing to say to children who were belittling her, what was her aim? To scare them? Lorraine should've thought of a better response.

Each time she returned home, she would act like nothing had happened so as not to get her father worked up. Her father knew.

Demitrio believed that experience is the best teacher and if his daughter is hiding what he already knew would happen it's because she is regretting.

Lorraine finally agreed that school wasn't for her and that her life was limited to the mansion alone. Can she be blamed? She was naive and young, even her father wanted it to be that way.

Years grew by fast and the Lorraine of the past was slowly drifting away as a new dawn has started to begin with the rise of her dark side. With no regard or respect to older people, seventeen years old Lorraine had already destroy so many lives that had crossed her path, though she was yet to kill her very first victim.

Demitrio thought he had trained a daughter not knowing he had unleashed the devil in her. Before his final years of his life, Demitrio accompanied his twenty years old daughter to the house of a poor farmer who borrowed a land from Demitrio a year back to harvest and sell the crops he made from it and was to return fifty percent of his earnings as well as the land to Demitrio at the end of the year.

It was indeed a very shady deal but as it were, Thomas Gonzàlez was very much in need to put food on his family's table as his own land was engulfed in a fire and was illegally seized by the government.
