I hesitated for a moment before unlocking the phone and glancing at the message that had popped up. My heart sank as I read the message, suddenly losing appetite. It was an urgent text from Arthur's friends, pleading with him to reconsider a big acting opportunity in LA that could potentially catapult his career to new heights. They were disappointed yet understanding that he had chosen to stay with me instead of pursuing his dreams in the entertainment industry. Realization dawned upon me- Arthur had sacrificed his passion and ambition for my well-being, forsaking his own aspirations to take care of me. Guilt gnawed at my conscience, the weight of his sacrifice hitting me like a ton of bricks. I didn't even know Arthur had joined the entertainment industry. Was that what he had been doing all those years? That couldn't be true. He told us he had been studying law at Harvard. He lied. Just as I was lost in her thoughts, the sudden sounds of footsteps approaching startled me and in her haste to conceal my actions, the phone slipped from my grasp, clattering onto the floor. "Great news! I finally got-" I looked away, my cheeks flushed with guilt, my heart pounding in my chest as my brother re-entered the room, his brows furrowed in confusion. "What's going on?" he asked, noticing the phone on the floor and the guilty expression on my face. I hesitated, not quite sure how to explain I had just invaded his privacy and went through his phone so I panicked and blurted everything out in a rush, "I...I'm sorry. I saw the message. I didn't mean to intrude, but a message popped up and I knew your password and I couldn't help myself. I read it and shouldn't have but you shouldn't have to give up on your dreams for me." I held my breath and squeezed my eyes shut after my confession, waiting for him to yell at me or stomp o angrily, instead I heard him laugh. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him, "you're not mad?" His expression softened, a gentle smile tugging at his lips as he crouched down to pick up the phon
