A Reason for Going

That moment when you feel like nothing is going right, when you want to give up without really wanting to give up.

How can someone you thought you were close to change overnight to the point where you feel like you've been complete strangers for all the time you've lived together, was it an illusion? In reality, maybe we never were after all.

Love, this little word that everyone is looking for, this feeling that everyone wants to feel for someone and receive in return, this feeling that takes hold of us when we least expect it and that wears on us when we expect it most, ah what a paradox this life.

Nabilla Kate is now twenty-eight years old, she has a Cameroonian mother and an American father, she married a few years ago with this man who became for her her worst nightmare, this man she loved from the first glance, and cherished in her heart during all this time.

With Gian they spent beautiful moments that today are only distant memories for her, placed at the door of this big house that is hers and that she has been abandoned by her husband for weeks already, she reflects on her life before, on her first lover Carlos that she had to leave for Gian because she found Carlos too much in love and too clingy for her, so she wanted Gian, the handsome guy brought back to the United States years before by her mother.

The one who promised her love and fidelity until the end of her days, today she finds herself alone, it's been three weeks since Gian left the house, she doesn't even know where he is and his phone line is unavailable, the only thing she knows is that he left for work and since then there's been no follow-up.

Nabilla is always there in front of the door to think, she asked her driver Noah to pack everything, she wants to go away from there, she is tired of waking up alone in his bed in the morning and going back to bed alone at night every time, she can't stand it anymore.

A few minutes later, her driver comes to warn her that everything is ready and that they can finally leave.

This is the fifth time that Noah has been treated like this by Nabilla, five times she decides to leave and then comes back, Noah spends his time these last days loading his things in the vehicle and unloading them and it becomes relieving and annoying for him, each time Gian leaves and makes one or two weeks without news and always comes back, this for a year already.

This time he made up to three and he did not call her only once to know how she is doing or to tell her if he is okay, Nabilla is bored at home and her best friends Andrea and Roxane are no longer in the same city as her for months already.

Roxane is her friend since almost two years, they met in France when she was there for a stay and by coincidence they saw each other again in the United States and became very close, so she introduced Roxane to Andrea and since they were both from the same profession they quickly became friends too, so they are friends all three.

Mr. Kate, Nabilla's father, is a businessman who is feared for his love for work well done, as well as his discipline, this business he forged with his mother, he raised his daughter with his mother, he took Nabilla in Cameroon from her mother when she was only eight years old, not by force but because Nabilla reminded her mother a lot of her past mistake and also she asked for her father a lot each time, but despite everything she (her mother) loved him a lot.

Nabilla's mother has a company based in Cameroon, the two (her parents) met twenty eight years ago at a conference in South Africa, Mr. Kate fell on the charm of this beautiful woman who was the mother of Nabilla, a young dynamic and intelligent woman with a face of angel and a body of dream, Mister Kate saw herself biting her lips and kissing her body, this woman was the one he wanted, and that he always dreamed of having, at that time she was an assistant in one of the big companies of his country, Cameroon, the one of his father who was a business partner of Kate.

After the conference that day Kate searched every corner of the room to find this little pearl that was likely to slip through his fingers, at that time he was thirty-three years old and Leandra was twenty-six years old, he finally found her and Leandra had also been targeted by the arrow of love.

When he joined her that day in the lobby of the hotel, she did not hesitate for a moment to let herself go with him the same night of the conference, it was a manly and very handsome, the kind of man who always made her dream, but in reality that night what had happened should never happen.

After spending the night with Bill in that hotel room, she remembered that little voice that kept reminding her at every kiss with Bill that night that she was now engaged to another man and that she had come to that conference with him, and even worse, they were both on a date that same night and she was there having a good time with this man she had only known a few hours before.

When she woke up that morning she realized that the man next to her was not her fiancé and the flashback of the evening came back to her, she was with her colleagues having a drink in the lobby of the hotel where she had done the conference when this gentleman came to compliment her on her presentation, he was very loving and gentle with her and they raised a toast, he was very attractive and they started to talk until his colleagues left, leaving her there with bill.
