Lina sat down in a sterile office, her hands clasped tightly together in her laps. Her heart was beating like she was running a Marathon. She knew what was about to happen, but a little light of faith held her on.
Dr Thompson enters the room with a somber expression. "Lina, we' ve received the test result, " He began gently as he took his seat.
Lina's heart sank deeper as she searched his face for any slight hope. The sadness of his voice got to her, to know all was not well.
"What is it, Thompson? Why the long face? I am not dying tomorrow right?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
A sudden silence filled the room, Dr Thompson took a deep breath.
"Lina, you have leukemia. But don't worry we can treat...."
The words echoed on her head, giving her a feeling of fear and uncertainty.
A faint smile of sadness flashed on her face, "I always knew that I would die soon, but this came earlier than expected. So what type of Leukemia," she asked with a gentle smile.
Thompson immediately held her hands, "Lina, why are you doing this to yourself? You are also a doctor. How can you not see this symptoms on time? How can you? Or are you planning to kill yourself."
Lina pulled her hands away from him
"Thompson, I am fine."
"No Lina, you aren't fine. We can start chemotherapy right now. But your state of mind isn't healthy at all. Lina, you are suicidal. You think I don't know?" He said, his voice soft but firm.
Lina stood up, picking her bag. "Thompson, I don't want you prying into my personal life. I already knew what was coming. I will handle the sickness my way."
Thompson stood up, grabbing her hands. She yanked it off.
"Lina, can you give me a chance to treat you. I am afraid you have just 3 months to live. Please Lina listen to me. Their death wasn't your fault. You did your best for them. Please Lina let me..."
He picks up a sonogram of her brain, "Lina the leukemia, it's affecting your brain. A tumor is growing but it's still small. I can remove it. But your current state of mind is not suited for a surgery. Everyone in the hospital knows that you almost jumped off the building the other day."
"That blabbermouth must have told you ," Lina sneered, her expression changed.
"Why can't she keep her mouth shut," She mumms angrily.
"It doesn't matter who said and who hasn't. I will recommend you to a psychiatrist. Just trust me on this."
"I'm sorry Thompson. I am fine as I am. There is no need to trouble yourself." She walked away banging the door.

"Help me," A wounded man, grabbing her skirt with force at the top of the mountain.
She tried to forcefully release his grip but couldn't.
"Let me go this instant." Lina said, in a low whisper. Her voice filled with fear, she wasn't as scared like this when she got the Leukemia diagnosis.
"Please help me, If you don't help me. I will scream and they will shoot the both of us."
"It's none of my business, I will let them know that I don't know. I have never seen you in my entire life. You are the one they are chasing after, not me. My life is already messed up to care for another person's life." Lina spat angrily.
"I will tell them that you are my girlfriend, just watch if they won't shoot at you."
"You are shameless!! Don't you think you are too old to get a young girlfriend like me?" She added, with a smug smirk.
"Old!!! You call me Old?" He exclaimed angrily. His face turned sour.
"Where is he? Find him immediately." A male voice was heard. Lina's heart skipped a beat as she saw 5 men with guns coming towards their direction.
