Within six years, they had a three year old boy and she was pregnant for the second time. The day she found out, she was pregnant for second time, she found out her first son was missing. She was in panic and try to reach out to her husband, but he was unreachable. When she was busy searching for her son, her husband returned home with her sister who has been lying about her missing for ten years. And unsurprisingly, her husband trusted her sister instead of her, accusing her of adultery and killing her son. To add things worse, her sister pushed her to have a miscarriage, leading her to death and a second chance to fix everything. Will she take revenge or escape from her husband who watched her dying to avoid her son's death?

Chapter 1 Missing

Dawn Clinton is an adopted child who has lived her entire life as the shadow of her adoptive sister, Spring Clinton.

However, like a blessing, she was married to the richest CEO in the city who was supposed to be her sister's fiancé six years ago.

Although she was the replacement for her sister and her husband is yet to accept her fully. After six years of marriage, she can't deny the fact that she has been happier. She couldn't have been happier than she is now.

She was gifted with an adorable son after two years of marriage. Tomorrow he is going to be 4 years old. She can't stop planning the birthday party.

However, to add a cherry on top, Dawn now looks at the pregnancy test on her hand.

Her face turns red and warm. She can't help but feel excited to see her husband as soon as possible and surprise him with the big news.

"Madam! It's time for Young Master to attend his piano lesson!" Her son's nanny, who has been working since he was a baby, knocks on the door.

"Coming!" Dawn shouts from the bathroom and hides the pregnancy kit under the brush holder. She hurriedly enters her son's room and looks around. But he is nowhere to be found.

"Nancy! Where is Asher? He isn't in his room!" She grabs the phone and walks out of her son's room." Did you see him playing in the garden again? I told that kid not to go to the garden at this hour!"

Rubbing her forehead, she walks towards the Garden. Nancy in the meantime goes around the yard and pool area. All the workers are on break after decorating the hall room and a load of work for tomorrow's party. They'll be returning home tomorrow early in the morning for preparation. So, Only Nancy and Dawn are the ones who need to search for him.

Dawn has full confidence that she will find her naughty boy in the garden. He likes to plant flower plants. Like his paternal grandpa, he has embraced it as his hobby.

Also Dawn can't deny that she has been enabling him with a lot of more plants so that he can enjoy greening the yard.

However, as Dawn looks around, calling Asher repeatedly, she finds no response at all.

The painful sting in her heart gives her a cruel alert.

"Nancy!!!" She shouts, seeing Nancy's back behind the fountain on the yard. " Go to the Monitor room and see where he is! right now!"

Nancy rushes inside like a bird, trying to catch up with her breath as well.

Dawn feels nauseous and lightheadedness at some point after looking for her son. She gasps to suck some air in and calm herself. Her belly hurts as well. But she can't help but feel horrible. A mother's heart knows these feelings. It's bad. She can't help but shake constantly.

"Ma'am! There is no one around. No footage of Young Master leaving the house either!"

Hearing her words, Dawn's stomach churns. She runs inside, thinking he must be stuck in some closet or study rooms.

Holding her breath, she looks around everywhere, from the closet to the secret library that her husband has behind his actual library. Everywhere, bathroom to kitchen, rooftop to basement. Everywhere. But she can't find her adorable son who never leaves her side for a few seconds. He likes gardening. But there is no way he will leave. The main gate has CCTV as well. Then why?

Unable to stand after searching everywhere for an hour, Dawn collapses. Her eyes slowly shed the tears that she has been holding. She slowly reaches out to her phone and search for the name registered as "My Love"

She presses the calling button as drop of tears falling on the screen. "Please - Please pick up!"

She feels ashamed of thinking that her husband will actually pick up. Because her husband never picks up her calls. She needs to go through her husband's assistant.

But today, she begs. She wants to tell her husband by herself. However, the phone call gets constantly rejected.

"Please! I beg you. This time, only this time..." She sobs, hugging her knees. However at the end, her calls go straight to voicemail.

Her shoulders drop as she sobs heartbreakingly. She looks at Nancy who is standing before her with tearful eyes.

"Not even in garage! My Lady!"

This is the last straw for her. She finds herself being drowned and suffocated. An intense pain in her stomach makes her cough. She grabs Nancy's hand and begs, " Call your master. Please... He isn't picking up my calls. Please!"

Nancy nods instantly, dialing the number of the owner of this house. She puts it on speaker and holds before Dawn knowing that he sometimes picks Nancy's calls regarding his son. However instead of getting a response from him, she hears a female voice.

"Whoever you are, Stop being a bitch! All nonsense!"

Dawn's shaky body and dilated pupils look at Nancy, tears falling down her red cheeks as she tries to gasp the situation. She doesn't know why she finds this voice familiar.

She grabs her phone for instance, dialing the security team to search everywhere once again. She can't trust her own search. She needs confirmation.

Two groups of searching teams soon arrive. One is searching around the house and another one is outside. They must find him before it's too late.

Dawn grabs her lower abdomen as it's been hurting so much. She has entirely forgotten about her pregnancy and the happiness she felt earlier.

She thought she despite being neglected by her husband emotionally, she was happy with her son and everyone here. After all, she was happy to have her own family.

She sits leaning her back against the wall. Devastated and scared, she keeps begging, crying. She doesn't want to lose her only happiness that makes her strong enough to live. Her entire life, her family and husband never acknowledged her as their family. She thought for once, she had her happiness with her son.

"Don't be scared! My son! Don't be scared. Mama will find you!"

She grabs the lights once again, from her bedroom to the garage, she searches once again. Garden to pool... She swims in the pool to find if he was there. She searches in the fountain if by chance he got hit and fell into it. The Bushes to the backyard garden where he never goes because of snakes. He is scared of snakes.

Everywhere she can imagine.

After another failure, she grabs her car keys and drives her own car.

They have a lot of cars since her husband is so fond of cars. She checked each of them without leaving a single spot.

After driving down to the road, she goes to the nearby park, the woods, the lake where the search team is already trying to find him. Asking the neighbours to checking their backyard... Nearby gardens and public spot...

But he is nowhere to be found...

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."
