"You ever brave enough to ask Emily out, wimp." I said back to Ivan. Mom clearly did not know about Ivan's liking toward Emily. She glared at Ivan and said "we'll talk about this later." "Good luck, she's angry you didn't tell her." I whispered to Ivan. He slightly pushed me, I laughed at him because his cheeks looked like a tomato. We reached the front of the Pack House. Everyone was lined up Alphabetically of their family name. Kat was still uneasy, she's been the most uneasy ever since I stepped out of the car. I still don't know what it is. Maybe She feels like danger is about to happen. How could any danger happen, we were a strong Pack. The Royal family was coming so that meant that we'd get help from them if a attack were to happen. Maybe I just really need to go on a run.

Chapter 1 Find

Xena

I am currently training young pups. I don't hate what I do because of my Warrior Rank. I love teaching the young children. I love teaching the young girls they still inspire me. They remind me when I first started training.

I live in a medium sized cottage not that far from the pack house. I would live in the pack house because I am still unmated but I want to stay away from the horny, unmated males. I am not afraid of them, it's just to keep me safe. Just because I know how to

Fight doesn't mean I enjoy being in danger.

You're supposed to find you mate at 16 but you get your wolf at 14. I am 20 and still unmated, it doesn't matter. I am a outcast in my own pack because I am unmated. People find me weird because I don't follow the social norms of the werewolf community.

I had to fight to become a warrior because I am a woman. The Moonlight Pack is made up of 200 wolves. We are a big pack, Packs usually are only 50 to 80 wolves. My Alpha name is Raph. He is a good Alpha, I respect him.

However, I've always had trouble submitting to him. My wolf never wants to, but she does because she knows it'll be trouble. I can't afford to become a rogue. That is a crime in werewolf world, people never respect rogue wolves. I never mind, some people don't have a choice to become rogue.

That would be surprising coming from a warrior wolf. I know when to attack. I was taught to attack at the right time. To study people's movement, to know my enemy. So I know when to spot a bad rogue.

There is a Royal family in the werewolf community. The Alpha King reigns all over the packs and Alphas in the werewolf community. The current Alpha king and Queen names Are Victoria and Michael. I never really cared for the Royal family. They have nothing to do with me.

I look around and see the young pups practicing hard. They looked tired and exhausted.

"Alright, that enough for today, go home and relax. You have the rest of the week off." I said to everyone.

They all dropped on the ground in exhaustion, I knew they were tired but I had no idea that they were this tired.

I walked up to my favorite trainee. I know I'm not supposed to have favorites but I do and any teacher who says they don't, is lying.

The boy had chocolate skin, and warm brown eyes. His hair was in waves. He was short, but not too short.

My favorite is Luca and he is 15, I've been training him since he was 14. Luca is raised by his dad, his mom was killed by a rogue when he was three. His dad didn't go crazy. He knew his mate would want for him to be with their pup. Luca still grieves his mom, he doesn't remember her. Maybe that's why his grief is worse, because he has no memories to smile or cry at.

He was very small when I first started training him. He was weak and he was bullied a lot. He had no confidence in himself. No matter how many times Luca fell, he alway got back up. He's funny and he makes me smile. I am very proud of him.

"Luca, aren't you sad you won't see me for the rest of the week?" I said in a playful tone.

My trainees know that they aren't here just to train but to learn about themselves. This is a safe environment, even though a lot of fighting happens. This is still a happy and welcoming place.

Luca opened his eyes. He was laying on the ground still, like some of the other trainees. He opened his eyes and looked up at me.

"Not really, I'm actually happy." Luca said with a smile on his face and a glint in his brown eyes.

I gasp and grab my chest as if I'm hurt.

"You hurt my heart Luca, should I look for a new favorite student." I said but the last part was hushed.

Some student started grabbing their bags and exiting the training area.

I grab Luca hand and start to help him up. "Take a break for the rest of the week, you worked hard today. I still expect your best next week though." I said to Luca.

"Oh I'll bring my best Ms. Xena, and I think I'll be ready to fight you soon." Luca said. I laughed at him. "Are were getting cocky now? Maybe I should fight you, so I can see you fall on your butt" I said.

Luca laughed and walked to get his bag. "Bye Ms. Xena, I'll see you next week." I waved and turned around to get my water bottle and bag.

My mom and dad is the stereotypical mates. They found each other at 16 and automatically fell in love. I don't understand how you could love someone that quick. My mom is very sweet, she's a teacher and she works with children a lot. She's always been there for me since I was a child.

My dad was more strict and the disciplinary figure in the household. I don't really talk to my dad much. I know he loves me and my brother. We're just not that close. He's more hard on my younger brother, he's more strict with Ivan.

My brother Ivan is also 15, I don't train him. He's with a different trainer. Ivan is more like my mom. My mom is caring and bubbly, and is always smiling or finding the good in things. Ivan is the exact replica of my mom. They both have sandy blonde hair and perfect blue eyes.

My looks is more like my dad and I act like him too. I have dark midnight hair with green eyes, and pale skin. I am more like my dad than anything. Maybe that's why I'm so fond of my mom. I know that no matter how strict and cold my dad is, he's hopelessly in love with my mom. It's like my mom is the reason his heart beats. That kind of love scares me.

I exit the large training area and look out to the parking lot. I see my small black car and start walking towards it. I open the door and get into my car and look for my keys. My wolf Kat feels uneasy as if something is waiting to come.

I ignore it and finally find my keys.

The werewolves had gained control of the earth long ago, and we humans had been reduced to their status as followers in the once-leading civilization. Although I was raised in this hierarchy, I still enjoy reading about the earlier eras when people were unaware of the species that now coexist peacefully with mankind. It seemed like a much better period to me and my father, who had inspired me to read. We humans were divided into packs at this point. My family was a member of the Crescent Moon pack for many generations, and just like the other humans, we were ranked lowest among the wolves in the group. entirely under the control of wolves. A similar set of laws was established by the government, although each pack had subtle variations based on the Alpha, the leader. Although it was claimed that we lacked a president or monarch to guide us all together, in a roundabout way, we did. The guy in charge of us all is none other than Alaricus Knight, also known as The Beast. Because of his immense power, no one would ever dare attempt to rebel against him. He was a recluse and was seldom seen. In my brief 17 years, I had never seen him myself. Even though the majority of people had never seen him, he had destroyed our lives because he had established a rule that could alter our course in life permanently. Werewolves have mates-soul mates, if you will-who they genuinely fall in love with at first sight or scent. Regardless of their relationship status, it is stated that a human can never deny a wolf their partner because a wolf cannot exist without their mate. It was said that the beast was close to 400 years old and had never had a partner. Nevertheless, he had destroyed everyone's life for something he had never even experienced. It was stated that he would never be able to have a partner since he was just too nasty and evil, and maybe that was true. Whoever could love the beast, after all?

Elodie took a deep breath and knocked, the sound echoing in the quiet corridor. A moment of silence passed, broken only by the pounding of her heart. Finally, the door snicked open, revealing a surprised Dashiell. 'Can't you see the Do Not Disturb sign? We don't want-' His initial frown quickly morphed into confusion at the sight of his wife. 'What are you doing here?' he demanded. 'Your girlfriend invited me,' Elodie replied, her voice laced with icy calm. She tried to peer past him, but his broad frame blocked the view. A saccharine voice chimed in from within the room. 'Elodie? Oh dear, we didn't mean for you to find out this way. It's just that-' Elodie cut her short. 'Oh please, Selene. Spare me the fake apologies. You wouldn't have sent me all those texts if you didn't want me to know.' Dashiell shifted uncomfortably, his face a mask of annoyance. 'What texts?' Elodie stepped past him, taking in the luxurious suite with a sardonic smile. The king-sized bed, the scattered rose petals, the lingering scent of sex – it all painted a vivid picture of their betrayal. She looked up at Dashiell, her gaze unwavering. 'I want a divorce.' ****** Dashiell lived a life of luxury, surrounded by the best things money could buy. But when a car accident left him vulnerable, he met Elodie, a seemingly ordinary woman who nursed him back to health. Mistaking her for just another employee, Dashiell entered into a loveless marriage with her solely for convenience. However, fate had a different script in store. Elodie, the 'ordinary nurse,' held a secret more precious than any diamond: she was the sole heiress to Northstar, a vast and powerful enterprise. Unaware of her true identity, Dashiell cast her aside when his ex-girlfriend returned, leaving Elodie humiliated. But Elodie was not one to be easily broken. She shed the facade of the meek nurse, reclaiming her rightful inheritance and stepping into the role of Northstar's CEO. Now, the woman Dashiell discarded was the one holding the reins of power. As Elodie thrives in her new role, Dashiell is consumed by regret. He finally sees Elodie for the extraordinary woman she truly is, realising the depth of his mistake. But will his remorse be enough to win back the heart he so carelessly discarded?
