"You saved me, so I'll have my daddy pledge himself to you!" Ada unexpectedly saved a cutie, and in return, she got the cutie's heartthrob father. After their marriage, Gray doted on his wife, always obedient and loving. "Boss, are you really going to let the boss lady take over the company? You won't stop her if she wants to sell it?" "Sell my company? I have plenty of companies. The most important thing is to make my wife happy." "Boss, it's bad! The boss lady says she wants to tear off the roof!" "Go help her with the ladder, protect her well." "Daddy, thank you for the toys, dolls, and cake you bought for me!" "That was for your mother." "Honey, I really like this script. Can I take the role?" Gray remained calm. "Do whatever you want." "In this script, there are some steamy, passionate scenes with another man." "I will always support you, and I won't restrict your freedom." That night, Ada scrambled out of bed. "Gray! You liar! You're just jealous!" The next day, Ada had to stay home to rest because of the intense bedroom activities.
The temperature felt like volcanic magma, steaming...
She felt like a lonely boat stranded in the blazing sea of fire...
Floating aimlessly, unable to escape-
"Hey, wake up... the air conditioning is strong here, don't sleep and catch a cold-"
The pressure on her shoulder startled Ada awake. She met the nurse's concerned eyes, and immediately felt a blush of shame, quickly averting her gaze.
Damn, it had been quite a while, yet the image of that night with Bill still haunted her dreams.
Thankfully, she was too drunk to remember, otherwise, she wouldn't know how to face Brother Bill.
The nurse handed her a document, "You forgot to take your pregnancy check-up report. Doctor James asked you to come back next week!"
Ada took the report with a sweet smile and carefully placed it into her bag.
Bill was overseas for an inspection and was supposed to return today. Ada couldn't help but feel nervous as she thought about their meeting tonight.
Because Bill's location was so remote, she had only managed to contact him now, seven months into the pregnancy.
Thinking back to Bill's shock when he learned she was pregnant, Ada grew uneasy.
Was it because of pregnancy hormones making her overly sensitive? Ada felt like Bill wasn't as happy as she was.
The doctor had reassured her, saying that when men find out about their first child, it's hard for them to adjust their mindset. It's always like this!
But... she couldn't possibly be the one to bring up marriage, could she?
She left the hospital and stepped into the scorching sun.
Ada struggled to support her waist, ready to hail a cab, when suddenly, a glaring red sports car sped towards her.
Ada's heart jumped in alarm, and she quickly stepped back.
With a screech of the car's engine, the red sports car narrowly brushed her clothes and came to a sudden halt.
Ada's heart almost stopped, and as she steadied herself, she saw Adele stepping out of the car, her large wavy hair and tight red dress accentuating her curves.
"Adele, are you out of your mind?"
Adele looked at her with a meaningful smile, crossed her arms, and strutted towards Ada, using her high heels as an advantage to stand proudly over Ada, who was heavily pregnant. "What? Are you afraid I'll crash into the bastard child in your belly?"
Ada instinctively protected her belly and took a step back, looking at Adele warily. "Adele, don't go too far!"
Even though she knew Adele had always been antagonistic toward her, Ada never expected her to say such malicious things.
"I'm going too far? What about you? You're pregnant with someone else's child but pushing it onto Bill's head. Tsk tsk... Ada, don't you have any shame?"
Ada froze. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Oh, did you really believe the person you were with that night was Bill?" Adele laughed hysterically. "You've been saying you and Bill grew up together, childhood sweethearts, but you don't even know what his body looks like?"
The more Ada listened, the paler her face became, and she felt a chill under the scorching sun.
Now, with Adele's malicious reminder, she suddenly recalled that apart from the body, the person from that night had many differences from Bill...
