After being dumped by Summer for two years, Christopher developed gynophobia-getting too close to a woman made him nauseous and want to throw up. Christopher, "Why are there ugly women everywhere? I'm going to stay single for life." His bros, "???" Then, out of nowhere, Summer returned, begging for reconciliation and affection. Christopher, "You think you can break up whenever you want and get back together just because you say so? Who do you think you are?!" Summer, "Aren't you desperate? You haven't taken care of your needs for a long time, have you?" Before she could finish, the volcano inside Christopher erupted. Christopher, "Shut the hell up!" Damn it! She really used to be his woman! She knew him too well-could even tell when he was needy?! She kissed him directly. Christopher instantly melted, like a tamed beast. His bros, "??? What happened to your gynophobia? And what's with that satisfied expression?" Christopher, "Get lost! You're watching for free and still talking too much!" Summer, "Bros, help me win Christopher back. Once I succeed, I'll give each of you a billion. He'll pay." His bros, "??? You two really are a match made in heaven!" Christopher, "You guys made a group chat behind my back?" Everyone left the chat immediately... "Summer, just be patient. Big bro is easy to coax."

Chapter 1 You Dumped Me, So Why Do You Still Miss Me

"I heard Miss Owen's first love is still around, while I am neither pure in body nor soul. Are you sure you want to go on this blind date with me?"

Christopher narrowed his eyes slightly, exuding an air of cold arrogance with a hint of cruelty.

The woman's expression froze instantly. "Mr. Alfred... are you still unable to forget your ex? But she disappeared two years ago."

A layer of frost covered his strikingly handsome face as he spoke in a deep voice, "It has nothing to do with time."

Tricking him into a blind date?

Very well!

Let's see how he deals with those troublemakers when he gets back.

The woman's face turned pale. She picked up her glass of lemon water and took a sip. "What if I say I can wait for you?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you-I'm already useless." Christopher's expression remained calm, his voice low and indifferent.

The woman was stunned. "W-what do you mean?"

"Exactly what you think it means. I'm not functional anymore." He sneered, his dark eyes filled with indifference.

The woman was left speechless.

Suddenly, a sweet and clear voice broke through the awkward atmosphere, "Miss, you should give up. He's not interested in you. Let me take over instead."

That voice...

It had been absent from his world for two years.

The moment Christopher lowered his gaze, his entire body stiffened. The decayed heart in his chest seemed to start beating again.

His dark eyes surged with emotion, his chiseled features taut with tension.

He looked up abruptly, feeling as if he had been transported to another lifetime.

Summer was back...

That proud silhouette was like a blinding beam of light piercing his vision, stinging his eyes.

"Who are you?" the woman asked.

Summer smiled slightly, her deer-like eyes clear and innocent. "Me? I'm his ex-girlfriend. Can't you see he's just brushing you off? Stop wasting your time on him. You deserve better."

The woman, staring at Summer's breathtakingly beautiful face, became enraged. "Are you two playing me?!" She grabbed her bag and stormed off.

Summer chuckled and sat down in the seat across from Christopher.

Their eyes met, and in that instant, it was like an electric shock. The air between them grew thick with an indescribable tension.

Christopher stared at her intensely. Was this an illusion? It had to be...

Summer was dressed in a classic Hepburn-style little black dress. Her long, wavy hair cascaded down her back in soft ripples, reaching her waist. Her delicate makeup, rosy lips, and slender, graceful figure made it impossible to look away from her long, straight legs.

"Christopher, did you miss me that much?" Summer rested her chin on her hands, her voice soft and teasing.

The restaurant was quiet and elegant, dimly lit with an intimate ambiance, making it hard to see each other's expressions clearly.

Christopher froze slightly upon hearing her voice, then let out a cold, hoarse laugh filled with mockery. "Summer, you actually dare to show your face in front of me again."

Under the table, his long fingers clenched into fists, his knuckles cracking audibly.

He picked up his phone, opened the Facebook group chat with his bros, and sent a message, [Someone come restrain me. She's back.]

Summer blinked. "I missed you too. So, I came back."

Christopher let out a low chuckle, his laughter laced with sarcasm. "How much did you miss me?"

"A lot. Every single day."

His phone nearly bent from the pressure of his grip. He felt like he was about to lose control. His lips pressed into a tight line.

Pain surged through every nerve in his body, spreading to every limb.

"You dumped me. So why do you still miss me?" Christopher stared at her as if she might disappear again in the next second.

Summer's clear eyes flickered as if she were deep in thought. "Hmm... What happened two years ago was too complicated to explain in just a few words. I'll tell you later."

The next second-

With a loud bang, Christopher slammed both hands onto the table, his sudden outburst echoing throughout the restaurant.

He shot to his feet, glaring at Summer with seething rage.

On his birthday night, his friends egged Rex on to make a wish. Out of nowhere, Rex thought of Linda. Cold-blooded and heartless-that was how outsiders described him. Only Linda had ever called him a good person. And only when she was using him did her words sound so sweet. For the first time in his life, on his own birthday, he made a wish for a woman-hoping she would get what she wanted. If she wanted to borrow his power, he was willing to let her borrow it for a lifetime. Recently, in New York City's high society, rumors had been swirling that Linda had been dumped by her ex-boyfriend, her dream of marrying into wealth shattered, and that she was now dating a big shot from London. That day, Linda was called last minute to a dinner gathering. She was the last to enter the private room, only to find her ex-boyfriend among the guests. She was just a small figure, unworthy of being introduced to everyone at the table by the host. During the meal, her ex-boyfriend raised his glass to her. "Congratulations, I heard you've found a new relationship." Someone, eager for drama, asked her who her new boyfriend was. "Which London big shot?" Linda didn't know any so-called London big shot and had no idea where the rumor had come from. Casually, she named the only prominent, unmarried man she had heard of. "Rex." Everyone was stunned and turned to look at the man seated at the head of the table. Linda, clueless, followed their gazes-only to meet the man's deep, unfathomable eyes. He leaned back in his chair, exuding an air of nobility and indifference. Though his posture was relaxed, his presence was overwhelming. He was watching her with an unreadable expression. Linda thought to herself, Could I be this unlucky? Is this man a friend of my ex? At that moment, the host snapped out of his shock. Seeing that Rex hadn't denied it, he smiled and congratulated him, "I was wondering why you suddenly came to New York City-turns out it's to see your girlfriend."
