"You can sleep in another room forever, but that will never change the fact that I know every time you touch yourself and moan my name. I am and will always be your husband, whether you want it or not...and obviously you don't really have a problem with that," he whispered in my ear, sending ice-cold goosebumps across my skin and I shuddered as I felt his full lips against my skin. Forced marriages are pure horror for many, but not for Nora. Since she was a child, it has been clear who she will marry and when. She comes from a world where people give away weapons and drugs instead of chocolates and roses; a world where you either kill or are killed; a world that knows no other colors than red and black.
"But why can't I go out with Emily and the others, Dad? I don't know why I even have to ask you. After all, I'm already twenty-one," I grumbled, annoyed, simply not understanding why my father insisted so much that I stay home.
His dark green eyes finally turned to me as, after what felt like hours, he finally put down the newspaper and turned his attention to me.
"I thought we had already settled this, Princess. You will meet your future husband tomorrow and since I can't let you run away, you will stay home," he scolded me and when his words sank in, I swallowed hard.
The thought that tomorrow I would meet the man I was forced to spend my whole life with sent icy shivers down my body and I found it difficult not to cry.
I knew it was best for both sides, because after all, he came from one of the most influential underground mafias in the country, had connections and power all over the world, but it still took all my self-control not to just buy a one-way ticket to nowhere and run away forever, just like my dad had feared.
"I just don't understand why I have to marry a complete stranger, but my sister was allowed to marry her childhood friends!" I hissed, hurt, frustrated and just angry at the whole world.
"He's not a complete stranger, Princess, and your sister wasn't thrilled either, but is totally happy now. Trust me this one time; you won't regret it. And you know that firstly, you won't be marrying him for a few years and secondly, you can always file for divorce if it gets too much for you, so please, stop bringing it up all the time and finally accept the situation . You're a Reign and you know that-"
"The Reigns take life as it comes and reshape it to their liking in order to master it. I know," I continued his sentence, brushing a dark strand of hair from my face and sighing loudly as I realized that there really was no turning back.
I would be marrying a man I would meet tomorrow in a few years and I had to live with that.
