The sounds of machines beeping, and the smell of chemicals filled my nose as I slowly opened my eyes recalling what got me here. I knew where I was, no doubt about it.
As I groaned through the pain of trying to sit up, the familiar voice of the man I love filled my ears, "hey babe, you're awake. Take your time." He spoke with what seemed to be tender eyes and love, but I was no longer going to be a fool to his tricks. He's the reason I'm in the hospital and in the pain I'm in. The physical pain was one thing but the emotional and heartbreak were something else.
I looked at him as he tried to help me sit up and in one fell swoop, I brushed his hands away. I didn't want those filthy hands touching me; the hands he had wrapped around Evie as he devoured her lips.
Disgusting.
I could see the pain in his eyes, but I no longer cared. I was going to hurt him just like he hurt me. "I'm sorry Trish but what you saw was not what it looked it," he spoke apologetically as he grabbed my hands and covered them with his big ones. I couldn't even look him in the face as his betrayal was so fresh in my mind.
How could he hurt me?
