"AGATHA, do you accept Dymon as your soul mate? As your husband, are you willing to serve him, through thick and thin, until death?” That was the third question the priest asked me.
But here I am, crying and shaking with fear. Until Dymon squeezed my hand tightly. The man I will marry. So I was afraid and stuttered to answer the priest.
"O-opo father," he said.
The priest smiled before shifting the question. Now it was Dymon who was being asked, and before the priest had finished what he had to say, he immediately answered I do.
It was a nightmare for me. A role I do not want to embrace. But what can I do? I feel like I'm chained somewhere that I can never break free.
After our wedding, a fancy reception opened in our big house.
"Mister and Mrs. Ignacio," greeted the guests of honor with a smile.
"Thank you for attending Mayor Dondon." said Dymon who was already shaking hands with the honorable person.
“Of course I will not miss this day. My friend Jose's daughter is getting married, so I can't not go," he said, obviously forced.
The Ignacio family has the largest land in Cavite. Jose is also one of the sponsors every time the polls come. So their friendship came from money.
“Dymon, what a beautiful wife you have become. It's good that your palace now has a queen." Continuation of Mayor Dondon.
I'm not smiling because the truth is, I don't really like what's happening. The mayor noticed that so he asked me.
"Iha, are you alright? Why do you feel sluggish? It's your wedding day—shouldn't you be happy today?” he said smiling to me.
Dymon was a bit annoyed with my behavior. So he said goodbye to the mayor first so he could talk to me privately.
Dymon pulled me to the corner of the venue and squeezed my arm there.
"What's your problem huh! Are you really embarrassing me with the guest!” Dymon said angrily.
"I'm hurting Dymon! I-I'm sorry!" I told him to cry but he tightened his grip on my arm and twisted it even more.
"Just embarrass me one more time and you'll really taste me!" he said while dragging me to the middle of the reception.
