After being set up by her fiance, she suffered public humiliation once again. She couldn't tolerate it anymore. So, under everyone's watchful eyes, she walked towards the cold man with a smile. Without further ado, he took her hand and saved her from the turmoil. Finally heaving a sigh of relief, she held his arm more tightly as they walked out. To repay him, she said yes to his request-to pretend to be his girlfriend and help him get rid of his romantic troubles. However, before she could even figure out what was happening, she had already fallen into his love trap.

Please Pay Off Love Debt, My Sweetie Chapter 1 I Will Never Marry You (Part One)

Tonight, the splendid villa was adorned by colorful lights that made it look more extravagant.

With a goblet in her hand, Perrin Xia walked gracefully into the hall.

She was wearing a red dress that outlined her perfect figure. There was a faint smile on her thin lips.

But as she walked, her slender fingers secretly clenched into tightly squeezed fists. She felt like a wave was rolling in her stomach.

No matter how gorgeous this party was, for her, she had nothing to do with it.

This party was organized by Lucas Gu, her nominal fiance, who had always been cold to her. The man loved humiliating her all the time.

She even had a hunch that Lucas Gu would humiliate her again in this banquet, just like the way he had done so many times.

She really wanted to get away from here as soon as possible. However, there was a reason why she had to stay for the time being.

Perrin Xia was on her way to the bathroom when she accidentally bumped into a man. The red wine in her glass immediately splashed into his white shirt. "I'm so sorry," she apologized immediately.

But she was stunned when the man said, "If this is your way of attracting my attention, I'm afraid you've used the wrong method." The man's voice was unusually cold and full of mockery.

Perrin Xia raised her head and met the man's playful eyes. And her jaw dropped upon recognizing who the man in front of her was. He was no other than Rory An, one of the most prominent personalities in B City.

Perrin Xia slightly frowned when she felt her stomach churned. Her face turned white as a sheet, but she still tried her best to explain, "I'm sorry, but I think you misunderstand. Don't worry. I am willing to pay for your stained shirt."

Rory An stared at her pale face. Most women played hundreds of tricks just to win his favor, and in his eyes, she was no different from them. "You don't have to pretend that you are sick. After all, I am not interested in a woman like you."

Perrin Xia had no strength to explain anymore. Moreover, she was afraid that if she opened her mouth, she would only throw up in front of him.

To avoid another embarrassing situation, she decided to turn around and leave. But when she was about to walk forward, someone grabbed her arm all of a sudden. When she turned back, she saw a woman wearing a yellow gown.

"I've already seen a lot of women like you. How dare you bother Rory in this banquet!" the woman sneered. She looked so domineering.

Rory An raised his eyebrows upon seeing the intrusion of another woman. But his eyes were fixed on Perrin Xia's face that had become paler. He wanted to see how she would deal with this mess.

Although he didn't show it, he was obviously interested in Perrin Xia.

Perrin Xia didn't say anything. Instead, she just shook the woman's hand off with a frown. Her eyes emitted a very cold aura.

The woman in a yellow gown saw the interest in Rory's eyes towards Perrin, so she flared up with rage. She grabbed Perrin's arm again and asked, "What? Do you feel guilty now?"

"I..." Perrin stammered. Although her face was now as white as a sheet, her lips were still as enchanting as red roses when they moved slightly. She was about to open her mouth when a thin layer of mist surfaced in her eyes.

The woman squinted and added in a cruel voice, "What are you doing? Do you think Rory will fall for you if you pretend to look pitiful?"

Perrin felt that the woman had gone overboard. She had nothing to do with Rory, but the woman kept on insisting.

She really wanted to explain, but her stomach felt more and more uncomfortable. It was as if she couldn't restrain herself from vomiting anymore. "Ump!"

Before the woman could react, Perrin had already thrown up at her.

She took this opportunity to give the woman a blow. With tears falling down her slightly flushed cheeks, she looked up at the half-smiling Rory and said in a soft voice, "I'm sorry. Although I am pregnant, I am willing to give him up if he really wants to be with you."

Rory frowned slightly upon hearing Perrin's words. But of course, he didn't butt in. In fact, the interest in his eyes grew more intense. He had a feeling that Perrin was not a simple woman.

The woman in a yellow gown, who was dirtied all over, glared at Perrin. With malicious eyes, the expression on her face became furious. "You're talking nonsense!"

Rory suddenly wrapped his arm around Perrin's waist to support her. He then turned to the woman and said coldly, "Sasha, are you done?"

Perrin's heart skipped a beat. She immediately understood that Rory was trying to play a trick. He wanted to use her to annoy the woman in a yellow gown.

But she didn't want to get involved with them, so she excused herself, "I'm sorry, I need to go to the bathroom."

As soon as she moved away from Rory, Sasha Luo was like an octopus who suddenly clung to Rory. A hint of coldness flashed across his eyes.

When Perrin came out of the bathroom, she saw Lucas Gu climbed up the stage and picked up a microphone. He said, "Next, let's all welcome Miss Perrin to the stage."

Before she could fully understand what was going on, the bright spotlight was already aimed at her. She didn't have any choice but to climb up the stage under everyone's complicated gaze.

A question played in her mind, 'What a new trick is Lucas going to play this time?' Her heart sank a little.

Perrin was already on the stage when she noticed a big cake in the middle. The candles on it were lit, and their little flames swayed with the wind. She got more confused, clueless of what Lucas Gu was doing.

"Come here." Lucas Gu beckoned to her to come near him while he took out a long knife with a ribbon tied at the handle. He then motioned her to cut the cake with him.

Since there were so many eyes looking at them, she was too embarrassed to refuse. She held his hands and cut the cake from the top.

They were too close that she couldn't help feeling nervous. She felt like she was trembling all over.

With a crisp sound, something bright slid down from the highest part of the cake, rolled over the red carpet, and stopped at Perrin's feet.

Without thinking too much, she bent down and picked it up. The spotlight was once again focused on her, which gave her a feeling of suffocation.

The shining diamond ring got even more dazzling under the spotlight. Everyone in the banquet quieted down as their eyes were glued at the stage.

Mixed emotions surged up in Perrin's heart as she didn't know whether to take the ring or put it back down. She couldn't even dare to look up at Lucas.

Just when the audience couldn't restrain themselves, Lucas picked up the microphone again and looked at Perrin sarcastically. He then asked in a deliberately raised voice, "Perrin, are you planning to force me to marry you with that ring? I suggest you don't use this trick on me again. Because no matter how many times you use this method, I'll still never marry you."

His words were like a bomb that exploded in the banquet hall.

Everyone looked at Perrin in disbelief. They all thought that she organized this party for this play. It was said that a woman's heart was like a needle at the bottom of the ocean. Perhaps, she badly wanted to be the daughter-in-law of the Gu family that she was willing to use any kind of tricks.

I carried the first word I had spoken in ten years like a sacred offering, ready to surprise the man who had saved my life. But through the crack in the study door, I heard Josiah tell his Underboss that I was nothing but a noose around his neck. "Grace is a burden," he said, his voice cold. "I can't become Don while babysitting a mute ghost. Lexi brings power. Grace brings nothing but silence." He chose to marry the Mafia Princess for her father's trade routes, dismissing me as wreckage. But the true betrayal didn't happen in that office. It happened in the woods during an ambush. With bullets flying and the mud sliding beneath us into a ravine, Josiah had to make a choice. I was injured, trapped at the bottom. Lexi was screaming on the ridge. He looked at me, mouthed "I'm sorry," and turned his back. He hauled Lexi to safety to secure his alliance. He left me to die alone in the freezing mud. I lay there in the dark, realizing the man who swore a blood oath to protect me had traded my life for a political seat. He thought the silence would finally swallow me whole. He was wrong. I crawled out of that grave and vanished from his world completely. Three years later, I returned to the city, not as his broken ward, but as a world-renowned artist. When Josiah showed up at my gallery, looking shattered and begging for forgiveness, I didn't sign. I looked him dead in the eye and spoke. "The girl who loved you died in that ravine, Josiah."

I spent three years acting as a high-end manufacturing plant for the Snyder dynasty, waiting for the day I could finally break my golden cage. Today, I slid the postnuptial amendment across the desk, trading my marriage for fifty million dollars and a chance to breathe again. I thought I was free the moment the elevator doors closed. But while I was at a club celebrating my "asset liquidation" with champagne and silk blindfolds, the Snyder empire was falling apart. My grandfather-in-law had a heart attack the second he heard I was gone, and he refused the surgery that would save his life unless I was the one to authorize it. Claudius didn't send a lawyer to bring me back; he came himself. He burst into my private VIP suite like a predator, his eyes cold enough to freeze the room. He saw the models, the drinks, and the blindfold, and he instantly assumed I was selling my dignity at a discount just hours after leaving him. He didn't care about the truth or the papers I’d already signed. He kicked the cameras out of his cousin’s hands, cleared the room with a single look of death, and hauled me over his shoulder like a sack of grain in front of everyone. To him, I wasn't a woman or a wife; I was a critical piece of hardware that had gone rogue. "The separation is paused," he growled, pinning me against the leather seats of his Maybach as the child locks clicked into place. I stared at the bite mark I’d just left on his thumb, realizing that in the world of the Snyders, even a signed exit strategy was just another contract he was willing to break. This wasn't the end of my marriage; it was the start of a much more dangerous game.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
