Maya's heart raced, a mix of hope and fear. What if it really was Eliza? What if they were walking into a trap? As they were getting closer to the building, a sense of fear washed over Cynthia. The structure was neglected, an abandoned store house that had clearly seen better days. "This place looks abandoned ," she said, looking around the surroundings. "Stay close," Adrian instructed, his voice firm as he pulled the car to a stop. They got down from the car, sneaking into the shadows as they moved toward the entrance. In an instant, Cynthia and Adrian scrambled back, but it was too late. The group burst through the door, cornering them. "Adrian Kane," one of the suited figures said, a smirk playing on his lips.
