Chloe's POV

I slowly come around to my senses, but everything, with the inclusion of my memory, is only a hazy blur. And why on earth is my back attached to something so cold?

I try to shake the uncomfortable feeling away, trying to move out of whatever is behind me, but then I find out that my movements are restricted and my hands are cuffed around my back.

Definitely means that the cold thing I was feeling against me is the pole that my hands were cuffed around.

Great, just great.

But how did I get into this situation again?

My head hurts as I try hard to think about the events that had occurred leading to this. How did all this happen to me?

Then slowly, it all began to come back, my memory of the last events trickling in. An improvement, but still.

Lilly and I are going to the pack's party, us getting into the kitchen area to cook and serve drinks…. Diana comes to howl at us…. Marcus behind her staring daggers at us….Mark mind-linking Lilly, telling her to return us to the packhouse as soon as possible— no, immediately…… Lily sensing we might actually get killed….. us getting into a random car and turning the car around to get us back to safety from the claws of the pack's owner….., The large truck at our rear …and then hitting our stolen from behind…..The car flipping over and landing the wrong way as Lilly and I dangle from our seatbelts….. Lilly calling out to a disillusioned me… A raging roar coming out from the direction of the event venue….. and lastly, everything suddenly going black and somewhat peaceful.

That is it! That is what happened! I was in an accident. But if I was in an accident, where is Lilly? She was in the accident too? And why am I handcuffed to a very long pole instead of being treated in a hospital? Where are my parents?

That is when it hit me. Like a heavy flood, the memories I tried so hard to push behind my subconsciousness come rushing in. My parents are dead! I'm a refugee in a foreign pack! Somehow, I find out I'm mates to the Alpha, but before we could accept our mating bond, everything crashed before my eyes courtesy of Micah and Diana who plotted against me, and Marcus who mercilessly fell for their lies.

“Marcus, look. The brat is finally awake!” A taunting voice I know very well says, as the owner of the voice took an intimidating stance in front of me. Micah!.

The dark wood pack!.

“Looks like she finally decided that it was time to come around. Do you know just how many times I have tried shaking and pushing and pulling you awake?” Alpha Marcus spits into my face, seething. I raise my head and see him standing before me in all his glory —6.7ft tall, muscles filled arms, jet Black hair, full pink lips, broad shoulders and in no doubt, the finest piece of male I've ever seen.

He is a freaking adonis!

Marcus sends a kick to my side, one that would have sent me sprawling, if not for the pole supporting me.

“So you actually thought that you could run away, huh? You thought that you could escape? Did we not tell all of you puny wolves that the only escape available for you is your death?” Diana asks with a menacing smile. "Poor thing…you should have probably died with your parents right?"

This is terrible. I feel awful.

What had happened to Lilly? What did they do to her?
