Requiem of A Broken Heart
This is supposed to be the best night of Elena’s life, a night she’ll never forget. A night where she celebrates her best friend turning sixteen by drinking a lot of alcohol and dancing to the beat of the music. She had planned this night in her head the day before. This party was supposed to be pure fun but of course, it ends up turning into a shit show.
While everyone in Naomi Stewart’s house is having fun Elena is outside weeping like she’s never wept before. Her heart is broken into pieces, her life has come crashing right before her eyes. She holds herself as she stands in a beautiful black crop top with skinny black jeans and sneakers. She’s in pain, emotional pain and this is worse than finding out that Cameron Boyce passed away.
A teenage boy comes rushing out of the house spilling his guts on the floor, his friend is there to help him. They ignore the girl crying in front of them.
Maybe she’s pregnant and that’s why she’s crying. One of them thinks but that is not the case.
A handsome young man rushes out of the building and calls Elena’s name. Elena recognizes his voice but she doesn’t give him the satisfaction of looking his way. She walks away from the building, tears still bleeding from her ocean-blue eyes.
The handsome blond takes her by the hand willing her to turn around but Elena screams at him to leave her alone. The sound of rage erupts from her and the boy can feel that rage because Elena doesn’t do rage so he’s taken aback.
“Elena, please I hate that I hurt you,” he says.
“Then why did you just break up with me?” she whines.
“Elena please we can still be friends.” He reaches out for her but Elena moves backward so he doesn’t touch her.
“No, I don’t want to be friends with you just leave me alone. Go to hell.” she throws a death glare his way and she walks away from him.
“At least let me give you a ride home!”
“Fuck you!” she screams disappearing into the night.
The sad sixteen-year-old girl walks all alone on the streets of Berkshire. She’s done crying because the cool autumn breeze has whispered into her ear, they’ve calmed her and told her how much of a jerk her ex-boyfriend is. That’s how connected to nature she is.
She’s dated Nicholas Reed since year eight. They were like the power couple of Westfield. She, the popular it girl who loves fashion and knows how to style herself and he, the famous rugby player. They were unstoppable. A lot of people even thought they were going to get married to each other and produce beautiful babies who would a hundred per cent become Hollywood child stars.
As much as Elena loved Nick, she knew marriage between them wasn’t going to happen, she knew she was never gonna get married to Nick but she did think they’d be together at least till they graduated secondary school or at least before she leaves this world.
Elena wanted to use her powers on him, blast him with her light or maybe even blind him but of course, she couldn’t do that because she doesn’t know how to control her powers yet and her mother warned her that if she used them it’ll attract dark creatures that either want her power or want her dead.
No one, not even Nick or her three girlfriends Naomi, Priya and Kate knows that she’s not human. Just her, her mom and the Walkers know what she is and it’s for the best. The more people know about her secret the more trouble she’s going to get into but that didn’t stop her from thinking about destroying Nick right there and then.
How could he do this to her? After everything they’ve been through. She wants to cry again but she also doesn’t want to. She hates crying over people, she hates crying period. She’s emotional she knows that and she hates it. Why waste tears on people who don’t deserve it? Why waste tears on someone as lame as Nicholas Reed?
But that’s the thing, Nicholas Reed is worth crying over. He’s tall, has hazel
brown eyes, and sandy blond hair and he’s a bit muscular. He’s the perfect boyfriend and Elena’s the perfect girlfriend for him so what could be the issue? Could he have fallen in love with someone else? She’s not buying the excuse that he wants to focus on rugby because that doesn’t make sense.
She is a beautiful girl indeed. Everyone back at school knows this.
She’s a golden blond beauty with ocean blue eyes that can distract you once you look at them, a cupid’s boy lips, rosy cheeks and a snub nose and she knows how to dress she looks like a model in the eyes of everyone. She’s admired by all; both men and women, but Nick was the lucky one who had her, that’s until he lost her.
Elena wipes the tears off her face because she remembers that she is a princess of a magical land and she’s the most powerful fairy to ever exist. She’ll be going back to her land very soon and she’s not going to be worrying about assholes like Nick again.
Elena was only twelve years old when she found out she’s a fairy. She was in a lot of pain when she got back from school and she was a hundred per cent sure that she was having cramps. She sat on the toilet but something miraculous happened, tiny balls of light - six of them - appeared out of nowhere, floating in the air. She screamed and her adopted mother Laura Smith came running into the bathroom and then she saw it.
Her mother was shocked but not surprised, she knew this was going to happen but she didn’t know it would be this soon.
She helped Elena to leave the bathroom and then explained to the panicked little girl what she had seen.
“The light came from you dear.” Said Laura and Elena titled her head in confusion.
Laura had told her that Elena was the princess of a magical kingdom called Euroix on a planet called Lenfairia. Euroix is basically the magical version of Europe. Euroix is a continent with other Kingdoms but her parents ruled Central Euroix. Which is the Britain of their land.
After the birth of Elena, the creatures of the dark knew how powerful Elena was. So a wizard broke into the palace to steal her powers. Her parents tried to protect her but failed. That wizard had killed them both and Elena was next, but Elena’s uncle was not about to let that happen. He barged into the room with reinforcements and was ready to destroy this wizard but the wizard not being strong enough to take them all escaped. Disappeared.
Conrad Argentine knew the implication of keeping Elena in Euroix so he decided to send Elena to earth with humans and when she’s there it will be hard for witches or wizards to find her specifically the one that killed her parents. He knew that even though the wizard had escaped there was no denying that he would find her way back to finish what he started.
He had sent the Walkers, a family of Fae to protect Elena. Laura Smith Elena’s biological mom’s best friend volunteered to go to earth to raise her. So they went through the portal to the United Kingdom.
The Walkers. Mr. Patrick Walker and Claudia Walker had a son who they raised on earth as well and he and Elena are best of friends.
Laura had explained to her that she was not going to be on earth forever and that her destiny was in Euroix. Her power was only going to grow as she grew older and it would be difficult to hide her. She didn’t know when but she knew that that day would come. She knew that one day she was going to leave this world. A part of her didn’t want to leave because she has everything here. Her friends, her boyfriend, and most especially her boyfriend.
Now that her boyfriend has dumped her she’s considering leaving right now. Packing her bags and leaving this place so she doesn’t see Nick’s face ever again. She doesn’t know if she really means that or if it’s the heartbreak that’s talking.
She sits on a bench in a quiet neighbourhood. It’s One in the morning and her mom would kill her if she found out this is the time she’s coming home. She has to get up
from this bench. Even if her mom yells at her she’s not going to be listening because her boyfriend has just broken her heart. The sadness in her won’t make her process anything anyone says because she’s going to be thinking about Nick inviting her into a room, shooing teenagers who were making out in that room just to tell her he’s breaking up with her.
Nothing else matters to her anymore, her mom can do her worse.
“Tough night?” someone startles her she looks to her side to see a bunch of Gothic-looking people who are her age staring at her.
They’re five in number, four boys and a petite girl. The girl’s hair is a pixie cut, she has black lips and eyeshadow. Her dark clothes blend into the night. They’re all dressed in black it’s creepy. This isn’t the first time Elena has seen Gothic people she’s just never seen them at night. The five kids look like a bunch of Satanists who have just sacrificed someone to the devil and now she’s next.
“Ye--yes, but I’ll be fine.” she picks up her bag to leave. This is all kinds of creepy and she’s not about to stick around.
