Elena's POV
"Aunt, I'm off now" I shouted from our small living room.
I hear aunt's footsteps rushing towards me.
"Don't go without my blessings" aunt said.
I smile and bent to her level, and she quickly placed a kiss my right cheek which I mentally rolled my eyeballs at, because she does this every and any time I'm about to go out, something about her passing good luck unto me -elderly people and their superstition beliefs.
"May you find a kind-hearted, god-fearing, rich and handsome husband soon, may you.... "
I cut her off with my laughter, she stopped and glare warningly at me.
"Aunt, I still have a lot of time. I don't want to think about marriage, or finding a husband just yet" I told her.
She rolled her eyes and shook her head at my dumb words (well, she always think my speeches are dumb), then smacked me on my back.
"Don't jinx yourself. You know how much I want to see you happy, and besides I want you to get married soon and give me lots of grandkids"
Hmm. Ok, that's literally her greatest wish, ever.
But I really wonder who on earth would want to marry me, I'm not educated and beauty isn't something I'm gifted with either.
Though I can read a bit by bit, but I don't know anything about class -I'm not classic at all.
"Elena, are you listening to me?" Aunt's question pulled me back to reality.
I nod slowly, and show her my brightest smile.
"Yes, aunt. I'm listening"
"Then why aren't you answering Amen to everything I've been saying?" She asked eyeing me.
"I did" I replied.
Aunt scoffed and sits on the only sofa we have in our house.
"I didn't hear you" she said sulkily.
I sigh. "Amen!" I said.
You see, my aunt is a childless widow. Her husband died of cancer 15years ago.
So when my parents died in an accident, she took me in and care for me like a real mother. Though she's poor, she always try her very best to make me happy and I'm very grateful to her.
I begin to massage her shoulder gently.
"Don't worry, aunt. I'll bring home a very rich, god-fearing, strong and handsome gentlemen one of these days" I confidently assured her, as if it's that easy to pick up a man with so many good qualities.
But she beamed brightly, because I've just said exactly what she wanna hear.
"Good! So... "
"I'm off now" I cut her off politely, and ran out before she'd start with her lectures.
"This girl" I hear her muttered, but didn't turn back.

The December breeze slapped my face, and blew past my ears as I jumped and sing happily in my melodious voice -yeah, my voice is the only thing I'm proud of.
Well, I'm currently on my way to a birthday party, it's actually a kid's birthday party, but I was hired to perform some kiddies songs.
I arrive at the place in no time. I press the doorbell and waited patiently for someone to come out.
The door open and a middle aged woman step out, she's wearing a white and black striped uniform, so I knew at once she's the nanny here.
"Good afternoon, ma'am" I greet her.
"Good afternoon, my dear. Are you looking for someone?" She asked me.
"Uh...I'm the singer that was hired to perform here" I told her.
"Oh, I see. Please hold on a second, let me confirm with my boss" she said.
I nod and she rushed back inside. After waiting for a few minutes, she came out again, but with a lady and a little boy this time.
The boy's dressed in fancy clothes and he held a balloon in his left hand, he must be the birthday boy.
"Ma'am, this is the girl" the nanny said.
The lady smile at me warmly, and I smiled back, she has this welcoming aura around her.
"Dear, you were a bit late, our boy couldn't wait that long, so we hired someone else" she said.
My shoulders sway down and I pouted in disappointment, immediately she said those words.
"What about I perform after her?" I asked suggestively, with a hopeful smile.
But then, the little boy step forward and pushed me back.
Wow, he's stronger than his age.
"No! I don't want you to sing at my party, you're dirty" his eyes were zeroed on a spot on my dress.
