Reclaiming Her Crown, One Step At A Time

Reclaiming Her Crown, One Step At A Time

Elia O'loughlin
Noelle was the long-lost daughter everyone had been searched for, yet the family brushed her off and fawned over her stand-in. Tired of scorn, she walked away and married a man whose influence could shake the country. Dance phenom, street-race champ, virtuoso composer, master restorer-each secret triumph hit the headlines, and her family's smug smiles cracked. Father charged back from abroad, mother wept for a hug, and five brothers knelt in the rain begging. Beneath the jeweled night sky, her husband pulled her close, his voice a velvet promise. "They're not worth it. Come on, let's just go home."

Early winter, my punishment is over. I am back in my usual room. It's not as big as Gisella's room or the other sisters' rooms, but it's still worth living in. Yes, this is just like my room in my previous life. I've been in this world for three months now. In another dimension.

"I don't want to die, so I'm not obsessed with magic."

I put on my coat, today was the time to see the male lead that all noble ladies desire.

I also packed some bread and fruit. I bet he doesn't eat well.

"Hey, Lilyana,"the deep voice of a young man who had just grown up. It was Kleand Van Bearc. My biological brother and also a cold young man who loves Gisella more than his own sister.

"What is it?"I asked flatly.

"Where are you going?"

"Where the slaves are."

Kleand chuckled a little, then said with a dark face,"Yes, that place suits you."

Then Kleand left after saying a sentence that made me angry.

"Anjir. It's really useless to ask,"i muttered quietly. Then I went to the meeting place with my favorite main character.

"If I hadn't become a cruel mage, I wouldn't have been killed..."

I stopped my sentence,"I will be killed anyway,"I whispered. My joy vanished instantly when I remembered the true plot.

The big fact I had overlooked. Gerald was the son of the Empress, who was killed by the Emperor's only concubine, who was a close cousin of the Grand Duke Bearc. Gerald learned of this from his teacher, Marquis Ghana. Grand Duke Van Bearc also intervened. Gerald's presence at the Grand Duke's residence was no accident either, but because the Grand Duke knew his identity. He tried to keep Gerald as a slave to prevent him from taking the throne. Gerald's revenge was not only for his mother's death, but also for the Grand Duke's family, who continued to torture him. Including Lilya.

"Huh! It's really cold, there's no such cold weather in Indonesia. It's really not normal,"i rubbed my hands covered with bear fur gloves. It feels so cold. Even though it was covered with thick cloth.

"Hey, boy,"the voice came from the slave area, which was only a few meters away from where I was now. I spontaneously stopped running. I immediately hid behind the barrier of the slave area. I saw Gisella torturing a fifteen-year-old teenager who had fallen on the snow. Black hair and pale blue eyes, blue eyes that began to close with the eyelids. I immediately ran to Gisella.

"Sister! Stop!"I speak. I don't know where this courage comes from. I came out of hiding with an angry face. It's good that he tortured my handsome main character. The girl was always looking for trouble, so it was only natural that Gerald killed her cruelly.

"Hey, you want to interfere? You want to be a hero? Can you really fight me?"Gisella asked arrogantly.

I looked at the black-haired child who had fainted,"he fainted, let him go."

"Huh! Not interesting,"Gisella looked at the lying slave with contempt and condescension. "He's too weak to play with,"she said before leaving the slave area.

Play? You are mad! Torturing children is called playing? It's groundless! She should be treated psychologically. This is the reason why parents are not good at delegating many things to children, so they are stupid.

Gisella left the slave area. I looked around where the other slaves were frightened by Gisella's tantrum. Although Gisella is beautiful, she is very evil and cruel. Yes, the face does not necessarily reflect the heart.

"Hey,"i called to the teenager who had just been tortured by Gisella.

"Um, miss. It looks like he's badly hurt. And totally unconscious,"an older slave said. I blinked. I stared at an old man who was obviously also a slave. There is no young or old, this residence of the Grand Duke is extremely cruel. Everyone is tortured. The contents of this house are all psychopaths.

"Could you please bring him in?"I asked the older slaves.

"Good,"Someone who was quite young helped lift the teenager's battered body.

***

I sighed. Goosebumps ran down my entire body at the sight of the bruises and wounds on Gerald's body. I did everything I could to treat them. For a moment I noticed that handsome face. Sitting next to the young man sleeping on a haystack.

"Black hair,"I muttered. I came closer again. Forced to open his eyes, I found a golden yellow pearl, the eyes had changed color.

"That's Gerald, right?"I asked again, still a little surprised to find him so easily. I walked out of the hut. I stared at every slave who was doing their activities. There are no other teenagers besides him.

"Gerald! I found you,"I exclaimed happily and turned to Gerald who was still unconscious. Then I took out all the food I had brought and placed it next to the teenager. Gerald was fifteen years old when he entered this dormitory. Five years older than me.

"Hurry and be the best hero. I hope you won't kill me later, but I don't want to change fate because I don't know what the consequences will be if I make a mistake and cause bad effects for you. At least I will die with a stab from your sword and in a state of whole, not in the form of ashes."

Then I left the hut. I left Gerald still closed.

"Don't tell the boy I'm here,"i said to the old man. The man nodded briefly with a smile.
