I'll take the lead with them. We've been waiting for the bus for a long time. Are they not embarrassed? People are looking at us with a digusted expression. Seriously, I couldn't imagine doing cheesy things for love.

Dani pushed me closer to her and said, “Maxie, wait!”

“What's the matter?”she inquired.

Is that an inquiry? Is it okay if I accompany them on their date? They were flirting at the time. I was simply listening to her boyfriend's choruses!  Even those who look at us are frowning. I simply hope I'm not invited. I made the mistake of putting out the effort to go here and listen to all of their corny conversation.

Zian, his lover, laughed.

“Perhaps she's envious of us, Babe.”he continued.

I faked a smile.Here comes the tornado! He is so full of himself!

Dani looked to him and said, “Babe.” He simply shrugged and looked about.

“I’m fine, Dani, just enjoy your date, okay? I’ll go first,” I said as I continued walking quickly. I despise that man, and I’ll never forget what I saw at the mall the other day.

Zian is walking with another girl, and they are both incredibly sweet, holding hands.

Maybe I should go home first; I’ve got nothing else to do here than watch them practically eat each other’s faces.

“Okay,” Dani replied, with a small smile.I know, I’m bitter if I’m bitter, but she can’t blame me; it wasn’t good experience we me and her boyfriend met!

I rolled my eyes then scooped my hair. I check my list of today’s grocery. That’s quite a lot and I know I only have a little money, it won’t fit if I don’t save. I need to scrutinize the purchases.

I hadn’t gone far yet so I quickly looked at them. Zian swiped away Dani’s forehead,full of sweat sweetly as I  walked away thinking what had happened. Shit! My horror rose from the arm to my nape.

“Babe if you really choose me you won’t regret it. I don’t even have a palace but I promise to serve you for the rest of my life oh my princess. ” I heard Zian. What the heck is he seriously? Isn’t that a lyric from some random song? I closed my eyes emphatically.

“Oh Honey pie don’t be like that!” Dani jokingly slapped her boyfriend’s chest. While bent over and blushing. Her boyfriend immediately pressed her cheek, at the same time he walked away proudly.

You are done! I just bit my lip hard and grabbed my forehead. How did I endure the few hours with this two? Dani who almost shattered the glass every time she spoke, now looks like a dwarf! She’s talking like a baby. She looks stupid, she seems to be possessed!

I didn’t let my self stay there for a little longer.I feel like I’m going to puke anytime now.

I began walking because the food shop was close to my previous location. I don’t want to squander more money because the food is currently too costly.

I grabbed a cart as soon as I walked in the grocery. I started buying meats for dad’s birthday dinner today. Mom worked hard to prepare because we don’t spend much time together.

We’re a modest family with little resources.We’re not making nearly as much money at the restaurant we opened a few kilometers from home. In fact, we must find a means of paying our rent. My younger brother is likewise maturing and will be a student next year. For school, he need a tuition money.

Apart from the restaurant, we only had Papa to look forward to. Mama is constantly occupied with her restaurant duties.

I considered closing it because I knew we wouldn’t be able to pay the bills, but Mama refused because it held sentimental importance. They can’t just sell it since we’ve been producing money because of it for a long time and have developed a restaurant life.

I moved right to the veggies and fruits after finishing the meat department, as if what they were selling here wasn’t fresh.

I chose green apples from this section that I believe are the freshest. As I was quietly selecting, the things Gionna said to me came to mind. One of my closest buddies. In addition to Dani, I approach her whenever I have a problem to solve.

I don’t want to think about why Dad departs so frequently, but I think I grew even more suspicious when I smelled the clothing he lend to Mom. I tried to hide the garments because I didn’t want Mom to notice, especially now that adding nails to the difficulties is too difficult.

Gionna speculated that Papa might have another woman. I didn’t believe because I didn’t want to; I didn’t want to make a mistake, even though I never doubted dad’s loyalty to my mom, I mean they’re for almost 20 years now, We have a lot of faith in him and his promises to Mom. My cellphone vibrated as I was shopping. I took it out of the bag and had to search for it because I couldn’t find it immediately. Because my bag is extremely large and contains many items, I took a stopped to seek for it.

I turned up the volume on the speaker.To hear her propperly. Because of the background music in the grocery store, we can’t understand each other.

“Hello? Maxine?”

“Mom, I’m coming home as well; I’ll just complete the ingredients.” I’m sure that’s all she wants to hear from me.

I approached the counter once I was certain that I had been sold just enough. I can’t move because of the crowd; perhaps it’s like this during the Christmas season. Many people are already shopping two days before Christmas.

There is a scarcity, and sometimes even a scarcity of commodities. Especially those canned goods.Ham and keso debola,the famous cheese during christmas eve.

I stopped as I watched a few teenagers hanging out.They’re all in high school.Looks like they’re the lucky one’s.Fancy clothes and a expensive phone.Most of them are holding a drink from sturbucks.

Maybe they’re also here for a last minute shopping.

I noticed a girl standing close to me. She looked stunning in her velvity dress, which appeared to be brand new.

I can’t help but draw parallels. If we were to compete side by side, I would absolutely lose. My faded pants and plain polo shirt caught my gaze. This is, without a doubt, the most stunning outfit I own.

The world is a cruel place. What If I was born into a wealthy family? What if our restaurant did not go out of business? What if Dad’s job was saved? Is it okay if I dress up? Like her? Is it possible for me to go to a club and dance all night without worrying about our financial problems?

With the side of my eyes, I noticed she was looking at me. I tried to give her a friendly smile, but all she did was roll her eyes at me.

“How do people like her get into this place? How can she afford it, after all? The products here are as pricey as my outfits, if not more so.Ugh!” She splashed some alcohol at her  sides after what she said. I watched her frown as my smile disappeared. She moved away from me, as if I were a small germ she wanted to get rid of.

I bowed my head down and pretended not to see her. There are those people who believe they are in charge of the world simply because they can afford costly shit.

A gleaming glitter thing struck me. It’s a timepiece! It’s black and incredibly expensive looking, so you know it’s not cheap pompous every aspect and there are also small diamonds around it.

I cautiously picked up the watch and walked over to where I assumed who the owner is.

“I believe what you’re clutching is mine,” he said, almost jolting me awake. I turned around without hesitation, and there was a man’s face in front of me.

I handed him the watch, trembling. Stop shaking, Maxine! You’re not doing anything wrong! I attempted to adapt. He was still staring at me, refusing to remove the watch from my hand.

He took just enough of a step for me to catch my breath.

“I-I didn’t take it; I just happened to see it here!” I said while shaking my head  a few times.

He grabbed my chin and made me look at him. I can’t avoid looking into his penetrating eyes. I tried to stare at him with my palm so cold, but he had this black aura about him, and his eyes were a mix of gray and blue.

People are starting to stare at us, I’ve observed. He was dressed casually in khaki shorts and a plain shirt. He is far too intelligent to be a normal human! I can’t deny what I’ve noticed any longer. He reminds me of an international model.

I tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let me, and his arms began to reach for my tummy, touching a little of my underboob. What he did made me gasp! He didn’t even try to conceal his grin.

When he discovered I wasn’t even breathing, he whispered on the side of my ear, “Breathe.” As he let go of me, I let out a loud sigh.

My cheeks are so heated right now that I think I look like a boiled tomato.
