I look up at the window beside my bed table and as expected droplets of rain heaved heavily on the broken windows.
I hissed as a droplet of water fell on my leg. Sighing, I got off the bed and paced towards the windows to look outside--a storm was coming for sure.
It was mid-day, yet the sky was dark making me gulp in fear of sleeping another night in the dark alone. A shiver ran up my spine the moment another wind blew in more water in my room.
I grabbed the pale the boss had given me and placed it on my bed to stop the water from drenching my bed once again.
I used my eyes to search for the sweater my mother gave me before she passed away to help with the cold. Just the thought of her makes my eyes gloomy, despite the fact that she hated me--I still can't get over her death.
Her words still burn me to the core, her telling me I'm not good enough and that I'm nothing but a whore. I can't help but think she was right.
My breath hitched in my throat as I rub my hands together trying to get myself warm so that I don't catch a cold.
I heard footsteps a few centimeters away from my room door. It was faint but I still hear the creaking of the wooden stairs. Which only meant one thing-he was here.
I looked down at the floor not wanting to meet his gaze, he can be a dick head sometimes... He cleared his throat twice trying to get my attention, but instead of looking up at him, I played with the hem of the sweater to distract myself from the beast himself, which happens to be my boss.
"Mia--why haven't you made my breakfast as I requested 1 hour ago! What do you think you're being paid to do? Sit around looking at the bloody sky?" Aleandro questioned angrily before he grabbed Mia by her throat backing her up to the wall.
"I--ugh--um, I'm scared of the dark, sir." Mia tried to find an excuse, but that only made Aleandro squeeze her neck more making sure to leave his handprint on Mia's neck.
"Save it, you bitch. Now go and make my breakfast before I do something that cannot be undone." Aleandro lashed out, before releasing his large hand from around Mia's neck... "If this repeats, you'll be fired."
"It's not like I want to work for you, you bastard." Mia hissed under her breath not knowing that Aleandro heard what she said.
"Excuse me-what was that?" Aleandro asked as he creased his eyebrows in confusion.
"I asked what you'd like me to prepare for you, sir." Mia lied through the grit of her teeth avoiding the wrath of her boss.
"Don't you dare try passing your place with me, you filthy whore. Now for breakfast, I want my favorite-you know scrambled eggs with slices of bacon and fried rice. You know the usual, please make it quick I have a meeting to attend." Aleandro beamed in the dark with his cold posture.
Without responding, I paced to the kitchen in fright. What was I even thinking in answering back at the prince? His actions didn't scare me-his words do. I could sense the hatred he had towards me. A man I hadn't done anything.
