Footsteps are quickly approaching. Each sound sent chills down her spine. Her back was stuck to the wall. Her sweaty palm rubbed against the wall. She swallowed hard and closed her eyes, her chest burning and her heart settling into her belly.
Her heartbeat was pounding so fast that she could not control it anymore.
“Find me before I find you, bitch!” His voice thundered in her ears, but she remained silent, careful not to make any sounds. She would not want to be found because she would be considered dead meat. "If I find you, you will curse the day you were born," he said, slowly approaching her.
She decides to find Don, knowing full well that if he finds her first, he will not back down on his words. A deep breath. Her eyes opened gradually, but he had already found her. He stood in front of her, palms dipped into his pockets, his eyes golden-orange and dazzling like a flame of fire.
She wanted to say something, maybe a sentence, to tell him that she had no intention of letting him find her first, but she was dumb—so dumb that all she could do with her mouth open was inhale and exhale through it.
Trying to gather herself, she clutched her palms against her chest, her face down—she dared not look into his eyes.
The first step: goosebumps appeared on her skin. Second, she closed her eyes again to avoid seeing what was going to happen to her. The third step involved grabbing her by the hair, lifting her face, and yanking it to the side.
A scream escaped from her throat. She was overcome with pain. Her legs were trembling.
Why was she not told that he is not only an Alpha wolf, but also a Mafia member? Why was she so ignorant to that point? If she had known the devil she was trying to awaken, she would not have gone near the airport or talked about planting the bomb. She would not even consider it.
She gathered her courage gradually before opening her eyes—meeting him was terrifying. “I did it! I apologize for infuriating you, but I will not beg for mercy... " Her face squeezed. Why was she saying that? Why was she acting arrogantly despite being in a lion's den? She bit her lips, reassuring herself that it was a slip of the tongue. "I did it..."
"To avenge your father's death—" He cut her off and sneered angrily. "What were your thoughts? That you have the ability to avenge the death of a traitor?" He slammed her head against the wall, causing groans of pain to escape her throat. "You are the daughter of a traitor, but I pretended to be unaware because I believed you were innocent. Now you have told me that you were aware of your father's schemes." He dipped his hands back into his pockets and turned.
Her eyes welled up with tears, which she quickly wiped away. She cannot be seen sobbing for fear of further humiliation. "I am the Pack's Alpha Princess, not the daughter of a traitor. My father is not a traitor—you falsely accused him because you wanted to overthrow him…." a sniffle. She took a large gulp. "I killed your daughter because you murdered my father. You should understand how it feels to lose a loved one...
His fist tightened. The audacity of vomiting trash in front of him. He turned and stared at her intently. He takes a step forward, clutching her throat with his right hand. His wolf snarled and growled. His claws pierced her skin, digging in. The floor was dripping with blood.
She did not want to beg for her life in his hands, but at this point, he could strangle her to death, and she would be the loser. She grabbed his arm and tried to pull it away, but her efforts were futile. She looked into his eyes, overwhelmed by pain and struggling to breathe. It was terrifying, but she had to do it because, as an Alpha wolf, that was the only way to control the intensity of his wolf's rage.
