CHAPTER ONE - MARRIAGE WITHOUT MY CONSENT.
1
PRESENT DAY
"Gbam" my heart skipped a bit.
As the door Creeked open, it seemed to take an eternity to fully reveal the room beyond.
I lifted my head, feeling a sense of unease and confused at the euphoria. I shouldn't have been surprised, though. The grandeur of the hall was breathtaking, with elegant wallpaper and sparkling lights that reminded me of a disco.
The silence was peaceful and calming. I decided to take a closer look and stepped inside.
The beautiful sound of a violin and keyboard filled the air, and I smiled, feeling the grace of the atmosphere. I turned to say something to Vivian but didn't find her; she was just behind me earlier, right?
Where is she?
She was just right here... it's not like she disappeared or turned into thin air.
I looked around and saw that everyone was staring at me with smiles on their faces. Something wasn't right, something isn't right, for sure.
Suddenly, a man in his mid-forties approached me and interlocked his arm with mine. He whispered, "Let me walk you to the podium, daughter-in-law."
"Wait, daughter-in-law?" "What does that mean?" I started to panic, hoping they weren't mistaking me for someone else.
Is there other meaning for the word " daughter in law " apart from the one am familiar with.
Did I look like their bride to be?
Or did I have a twin somewhere or did my mom hide my twin from me.
Okay! Weird thoughts.
So much from ditching my sleeps and watching movies..
As we walked hand in hand together, i noticed a red carpet beneath my feet. The man tried to calm me down, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
He tried to keep me at ease w.t.f does he think am nervous.
For fuck same AM CONFUSED, I screamed internally.
Okay scratch that am nervous as sh*t. Nervous of what was waiting for me, nervous of what awaited me.
Finally, we arrived at the podium, and I looked out into the audience, confused. Was this a wedding? Who was getting married? It's isn't me for crying out loud.
