Summary of Crave-in In the shadows of Rome's blood-soaked streets, Alessandro Moretti-the ruthless and untouchable 28-year-old mafia don-rules with iron precision. Feared as Il Fantasma for his ghost-like killings and cold mind, he is unbreakable, unloving, and unchallenged. Until he meets her. Elena Caruso, 25, is a beautiful but broken woman fleeing a haunting past. When she's accidentally caught in a mafia skirmish, Alessandro saves her life-or perhaps, claims it. What begins as a dangerous attraction turns into something deeper. Elena, soft and silent at first, begins to adapt, evolve, and eventually master the brutal world that surrounds her. But Elena's transformation threatens more than hearts-it threatens power. Enter Valeria Bianchi, a venomous beauty from a powerful mafia bloodline, once promised to Alessandro and obsessed with reclaiming what she believes is hers. Her hatred for Elena turns into obsession as she aligns herself with Dario Romano, Alessandro's oldest friend turned traitor, who will stop at nothing to take the empire-and Elena-for himself. As enemies close in and betrayals cut deep, Alessandro must choose between absolute control... and the woman who's become his only weakness. What none of them know is that Elena has secrets of her own-ones that will flip the power balance forever. In a world of blood, passion, and loyalty, love isn't the prize. It's the war. And when the dust settles, only one woman will stand beside the king.

Chapter 1 ll Fantasma(The Ghost)

The rain painted Rome in silver streaks as Alessandro Moretti stepped out of the black Maserati. He moved like a storm-silent, cold, and absolute. The leather of his gloves creaked slightly as he adjusted the cuff of his tailored coat. People didn't look at him directly. They never did.

"Target is inside," Marco said, his voice calm over the earpiece.

Alessandro didn't respond. He didn't need to. Two minutes later, a gunshot echoed from inside the stone building, muffled by a silencer. When he stepped back outside, there wasn't a drop of blood on his clothes, but the air was thick with finality.

ll Fantasma. The Ghost. That's what they called him in whispers.

His driver started the car, but before he could close the door, a scream split through the air. A black SUV had slammed into a café two blocks away. Flames licked the edges of the street. Alessandro's eyes locked on the chaos-but something else caught his attention.

A woman. She was crawling out of the debris, blood smeared on her forehead, eyes wide with shock. Not screaming. Not crying. Just crawling, dazed, toward nothing.

"Wait," Alessandro said. His driver froze.

He approached her slowly, cautiously. Civilians were screaming, running. Sirens echoed faintly in the distance. But all Alessandro saw was the woman.

She collapsed.

He crouched beside her. "Can you hear me?"

She blinked. Beautiful. Fragile. Her lips parted slightly, but no words came.

Alessandro looked to Marco, who had followed. "Bring her."

"What? Boss, we don't know who-"

"Now."

As he walked back to the car, Alessandro didn't understand why he was taking her. It was illogical. Dangerous. But something about her silence unnerved him more than bullets ever had.

Inside the car, the woman leaned against the seat, unconscious. Her pulse was steady. Her name, he would learn later, was Elena Caruso.

He didn't know it yet, but she was going to ruin everything.

My stepmother sold me like a piece of inventory to a man known for breaking people just to plug the financial crater my father left behind. I was delivered to the Morton estate in the middle of a freezing storm, stripped of my phone, and told that if I didn't make myself useful, my senile grandfather would be evicted from his care facility by noon. The master of the house, Adonis Morton IV, was a monster living in a silent mausoleum, driven to the brink of madness by a sensory condition that turned every sound into a physical assault. When I was forced into his suite to serve him, he didn't see a human being; he saw a source of agony. In a fit of animalistic rage, he pinned me to the wall and nearly strangled me to death just for the sound of a shattering teacup. I only survived by using my grandfather’s secret herbal blends and pressure-point therapy to force his overactive nervous system into a drugged sleep. But saving him was my greatest mistake. Instead of letting me go, Adonis moved me into a guest suite connected to his own bedroom by a hidden door. He didn't just want me as a servant; he needed me as a human white-noise machine to drown out the demons in his head. The nightmare deepened when he took the promissory note that defined my freedom and tore it into confetti. By destroying the debt, he destroyed my exit strategy. He replaced my maid’s uniform with a silver silk dress that clung to my skin but did nothing to hide the dark, ugly bruises his fingers had left on my neck. He branded me as his "primary care associate," a title that was nothing more than a gilded cage. I felt a sickening sense of injustice as he forced me to sign a contract that banned me from contacting other men and required me to sleep wherever he slept. He looked at me with a possessive heat, calling me his "medication" rather than a woman. My family had sold my body, but Adonis Morton was intent on owning my very presence, using my grandfather’s medical bills as a leash to keep me within twenty feet of him at all times. Standing in a neglected greenhouse with mud staining my expensive silk, I realized I was no longer a victim waiting for rescue. If I was going to be his medication, I would learn how to be his cure—or his undoing. I began clearing the weeds with a cold, calculated frenzy, determined to turn this prison into my laboratory. He thinks he has trapped a helpless girl, but I am going to pry open the cracks in his stone walls until his entire world comes crashing down.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
