Unable to contain himself, Clarence grasped Stella's chin: "Darling, didn't you promise you'd love me only?" She chuckled, "A second chance is given only if this time we play by my rules." Is divorce a sign that the couple don't understand each other or that they BEGIN to?

The CEO's Ex Wife Returns With A Baby Chapter 1 001

"I'm pregnant, it's time to hand over your position as Mrs Conrad. You know Clarence is mine. If you're willing to quite the game, I'll give you twenty million dollars as compensation."

A message was sent to Stella. Along the message was a photo of her husband Clarence and his mistress Vivian Sean both sleeping on the bed.

When Stella got the text message her lips curled up, she was at the hospital where she had just been informed by the doctor that she needed to take care of her health, because of she had been feeling so weak lately.

"Okay Doctor, I will." Stella said and left quickly.

On her way back home, she brought out her phone from her bag and searched for Clarence's number and called him. The call was picked immediately and she heard the aloof voice of the man which echoed from the other end of the phone, "What is it?"

"Will you come home tonight." She asked.

There was silence on the other end, but the man spoke up after a while, "Is there any important issues we need to discuss?"

"Did..did you forget what day it is today?" She asked with disappointment in her heart. Today was their wedding anniversary and he was expected to return home to celebrate it but it seems he wasn't even aware of this, what's even more he was cheating on her with another lady and even got her pregnant.

She could bear the fact that after spending three years loving him he did not reciprocate back the feeling, but she could not bear the fact that he got another lady pregnant knowing fully well how she was struggling to conceive his child. What a big fool she had been to fall in love with a psychopath.

Unfortunately he could only grumble and said, "I'll come back tonight, if that's all goodbye." The call got disconnected.

Stella's heart sank to the pit as she could only endure all this in silence. Then she took a deep breath and placed back her phone in her bag and boarded a bus home.

.......

As soon as she got home, Stella took a bath and stared with a bitter heart at the lingerie that she had prepared to spend with Clarence that night , but unfortunately it was a waste now.

'Enough is enough, I can't bear this anymore. It's time to give up on this marriage' she told herself and brought out the divorce papers from the cupboard.

And with a bitter heart, she signed her signature and took the divorce documents downstairs. It was only normal that she file for a divorce knowing that even if she spends more years with Clarence, nothing will change, so divorce was the solution now.

For three years, she worked hard to melt his heart; however, he was only using her and now toss her out . What a fool she had been, thinking that he would love her back. Now, everything felt like a cruel joke.

.....

After keeping the documents on the table, she went to the kitchen to make dinner. The doctor's words about her taking care of her health echoed in her ears.

Because of her duty towards Clarence, she failed to take very good care of herself, risking her health and putting him as her first priority, but now it all dawned on her how stupidly in love she had been.

But not anymore!

It was porridge that she was making and soon after the food was ready.

As she placed the food on the table and set to eat, the door opened and Clarence walked in.

Seeing him, she lost her appetite instantly.

Clarence made his way to go upstairs pretending that he did not just see her, however....

"Clarence, wait--" Stella stood up and grabbed his hand

Clarence turned back and glanced at her, "what is it?"

"So Clarence you're cheating on me!" Stella said.

Initially she just wanted to pretend like she didn't know about his affair with his mistress, but the pain and betrayal could not allow her to keep it all to herself anymore.

Without waiting for a response from him, she rushed and took the divorce documents.

Pump!

A deafening sound startled him. Stella threw the divorce paper before Clarence.

"Sign it Clarence, we're getting a divorce." Stella's cold voice reached his ears.

Stunned, Clarence's eyes reached for the document and it was boldly written 'Divorce papers'

" I don't think this is going to work anymore, I can't do this." She said.

Clarence smiled and said, "Are you sure. There won't be a second chance after this."

With a smile Stella offered him the pen, "You don't have to worry about this. I should have done this a long time but I was too foolish all this years. This will give you all the chance to be with your mistress and I won't be a burden to you. I hope you remain happy with her."

He took the document without signing them, somehow he felt heartbroken but he didn't know why he was feeling this way. He knew she had only gotten married to him because of his wealth, so it was only normal for him to be happy that they are about to get divorced.

He glanced back at her and quickly stated, "I'll go through the document and sign it. Also this villa is already yours, you don't have to move out."

"I don't want it, it all yours so..." Stella said but was cut short by Clarence.

"You really don't have to move out of you don't want. I can leave instead."

Without waiting for him to finish his statement, Stella went upstairs while Clarence continue glancing at her as she walked away.

An hour later, She came downstairs with her clothes that she bought with her money and left the expensive ones Clarence bought for her for the past three years including the jewelries.

Clarence was no longer there.

She looked at the gifts in her hand It was the present that she had prepared for their three years wedding anniversary today, now it was a waste.

Bang!

The gifts was worth more than one million but Stella threw them without a second thought. Then she heaved a sign of relief and accepted the fact that her three years of marriage was all a joke. She was such a fool to have gotten married to him in the first place.

Then she left the villa and headed a taxi, telling the driver to send her to Sherry Perry's place. Sherry was her best friend.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

No Longer Mrs. Cooley: The Architect's Return

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

The Ghost Wife's Billion Dollar Tech Comeback

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.
