The Heartthrob Wants Me! Chapter 1 An Unwanted Kiss

Chapter 1

An Unwanted Kiss

When you are walking down the street and suddenly kissed by a strange man, what would you do? Exactly. Slap him! And slap him hard!

"Smack!"

A loud slap echoed in the air.

Blondie Apple stared at the man in front of her, Cavan Noah. Under the night sky, he looked like a character stepping out of a comic-so strikingly beautiful, he seemed unreal. His amber eyes shone with a captivating light, and at the corner of his eye, there was an extraordinarily rare tear mole, bewitchingly charming. His face was like a masterpiece sculpted by God, exceptionally handsome, the kind of beauty rarely seen in this world.

Wow! A top-notch handsome man!

That was Blondie Apple's first reaction.

But just because you're handsome, does that mean you can kiss people randomly? Just because you're good-looking, can you act recklessly with no regard for others?

"Sorry, but I, Blondie Apple, have seen countless handsome men since I was young, so I'm pretty much immune to their charms," she thought to herself.

Blondie Apple raised an eyebrow and said, "Apologize to me before I lose my temper!"

"What?" Cavan Noah looked at her, surprised.

Apologize? After getting slapped?

He laughed. "Do you know who I am?"

"I don't care who you are! Apologize to me now!" Blondie Apple's voice left no room for negotiation.

"Kid, are you from out of town?" Cavan asked.

Blondie Apple was taken aback. "How do you know?"

"Because-in Texas City, no one dares to slap me!"

What the heck? You act like a hooligan and got slapped. Isn't that how it's supposed to be?

Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed in the distance. The people Cavan had been using Blondie as a decoy to escape from had caught up to them.

Cavan Noah's face darkened. Without a second thought, he turned and dragged Blondie Apple into a narrow alley.

Pain shot through her scalp as she was yanked along by her hair, struggling to keep up. He didn't stop until they were deep in the alley.

Turning to look at her, Cavan scowled, "Ugly Duckling, I'm not going to apologize to you. If you're smart, get lost."

Blondie Apple was furious. This was the first time anyone had called her an Ugly Duckling! Even though she had fled from the capital and disguised herself to look plain, she certainly wasn't ugly!

"You're the Ugly Duckling! Look at your shirt!" she retorted.

Cavan glanced down and saw a strand of her hair caught on his button.

Uh-oh! He hadn't noticed that.

But...

"Are you sure you're not just doing this to get my attention?" Cavan asked, his tone flippant.

What the heck? Is this guy a narcissist?

Suddenly, a voice came from not far away. "Some of you go that way; the rest, follow me."

The people after them were closing in.

A wicked smirk appeared on Cavan's face. He looked down at Blondie and said in a low voice, "If you're throwing yourself at me, don't blame me."

Before Blondie could react, Cavan shoved her against the wall, pinning her in place. His lips hovered just a centimeter from hers, and she could feel his warm breath.

Not again, she thought. Their previous conflict wasn't even resolved yet!

"What... what do you want?" she stammered.

"Force myself on you-do you believe me?" he whispered.

"Dare you?" she shot back.

Suddenly, she felt a chill on her shoulder as Cavan pulled down the fabric of her shirt, exposing her smooth skin.

Blondie was livid and tried to slap him again, but he pinned her hands against the wall. She struggled to break free and even tried to kick him, but he blocked her legs with his own.

Damn it! A hooligan! What a jerk!

The footsteps grew louder, almost upon them. Blondie tried to scream, but Cavan silenced her with a fierce kiss, covering her mouth with his.

The kiss was full of punishment, as if chastising her for attempting to scream.

Inside, Blondie Apple felt like a thousand raging horses were galloping through her mind.

Damn it! Twice in one night, she had been forcefully kissed by the same man!

This damn jerk!

How dare he treat Missy this way? You're doomed!

Suddenly, someone not far away said, "Look, there's someone over here."

Then, the beam of a flashlight illuminated over.

Cavan Noah and Blondie Apple were seen passionately kissing, with Blondie Apple's shoulder half-exposed and Cavan Noah's hand lingering around her body.

A few people were taken aback, then quickly recovered and asked, "Did you see a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old boy run this way?"

The boy immediately stopped kissing Blondie Apple at the sound of the question.

Before she could respond, he quickly whispered into her ear, "Dare to mess up, and I'll...get my hand in there..."

Blondie Apple felt a hand brushing against her leg.

She was on the verge of a complete meltdown...

You little punk! You're doomed!

Blondie Apple took a deep breath and responded, "Yes, I saw him!"

As she finished her sentence, she felt the boy's hand move slightly upward.

She quickly finished her sentence in one breath: "He ran in that direction."

Then, the group rushed towards the direction she pointed.

Blondie Apple studied the boy's face from close distance.

His eyes appeared to be flaming with anger as he barked, "For f*ck's sake, let go of me now!"

The boy quickly covered her mouth, glanced around, and seeing there were no footsteps nearby, he finally released her mouth.

He forcefully pulled his entwined hair from the button on his clothes and retreated.

Regaining her freedom, Blondie Apple took a few deep breaths, then swung a kick towards the boy's lower body...

But the boy easily dodged her kick and restrained her, forcing her into the corner with his bent body.

"Behave yourself! Otherwise, this young master won't mind turning fake into reality!"

At this point, Blondie Apple felt as if her lungs were about to burst from anger.

She cursed, "You bastard, pervert! You better hope you never fall into my grasp or I'll thoroughly deal with you!"

A smirk curled up at the corner of the boy's appealing lips, and he said, "I'm waiting for you to try."

Once his words ceased, Blondie Apple felt as if she had been forcefully shoved by some kind of gravitational force.

She fell to the ground in the most unsightly manner.

When she turned back, all traces of the boy were gone.

Infuriated, she mustered all her strength and yelled, "Help! Someone come here! Uncles, the person you are looking for is here!"

Readily audible due to her loud voice, those men hadn't gone far yet. Upon hearing her voice, they hastily ran toward her.

At the same time, the young boy who hadn't gotten far overheard this and was so angered that he roared, "Rotten girl, you just wait for me!"

Then... He ran forward with all his might.

Only then did a weary smile creep up on Blondie Apple's face.

She took out her bag to check the contents, seeing the "Acceptance Letter from the Islamic Gueixue College" lying safely inside.

She breathed a sigh of relief without knowing why.

Thankfully, she didn't lose it.

In California, at the five-star hotel...

Blondie Apple was using her identification card and bank card to check in at the front desk.

"I'm sorry, Miss, your card has been deactivated."

"What?"

Was this her grandpa's doing? How ruthless!

Was it just because she ran away from a wedding? Did he really have to be this hard-hearted?

Blondie Apple took out her wallet, handed a few hundred bills over to the receptionist, and waited at the front desk.

Cavan Noah, wearing a white shirt, walked by, casually setting his bag aside.

"Get me a presidential suite."

Cavan Noah's voice was cold and clear, and he had an overall clean, pure aura.

Holy crap! A presidential suite?

Isn't that worth thousands a night? What a show-off!

Blondie Apple followed the voice and looked over, instantly, she was dumbstruck.

Another incredibly handsome man?

Is California known for producing such good-looking men?

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I lived as the "scarred ghost" of the Stephens penthouse, a wife kept in the shadows because my facial burns offended my billionaire husband’s aesthetic. For years, I endured Kason’s coldness and my family's abuse, a submissive puppet who believed she had nowhere else to go. The end came with a blue folder tossed onto my silk sheets. Kason’s mistress was back, and he wanted me out by sunset, offering a five-million-dollar "silence fee" to go hide my face in the countryside. The betrayal cut deep when I discovered my father had already traded my divorce for a corporate bailout. My step-sister mocked my "trashy" appearance at a high-end boutique, while the sales staff treated me like a common thief. At home, my father threatened to cut off my mother's life-saving medicine unless I crawled back to Kason to beg for a better deal. I was the girl who took the blame for a fire she didn't start, the wife who worshipped a man who never looked her in the eye, and the daughter used as a human bargaining chip. I was supposed to be broken, penniless, and desperate. But the woman who stood up wasn't the weak Elease Finch anymore; she was Phoenix, a tactical predator with a $500 million secret. I signed the divorce papers without a single tear, walked past my stunned husband, and wiped the Finch family's bank accounts clean with a few taps on my phone. "Your money is dirty," I told Kason with a cold smile. "I prefer clean hands." The cage is open, the hunt has begun, and I’m starting with the people who thought a scar made me weak.
