Loving Amelia Chapter 1 Drunk

Amelia smiled at the wine glass in her hand, she just attended her ex's engagement with her goody two shoes cousin and they expected her to congratulate those cheaters.

The joke's on them for thinking of her as a weakling, ah , she is Amelia the only one that was brave enough to go against family rules and ethics, following her dream of becoming a designer.

A frown adorned her beautiful face when someone took the wine from her.

"Hey, I am not done with that yet.'' she slurred, she turned slightly her hair covering part of her face but it didn't obstruct her view.

"Get a hold of yourself will you, I thought you were over him, he cheated for God's sake.'' the person scolded, it was her best friend, infact her only friend- Cora.

"I am so over him, Cora , I just want to get wasted tonight " Amelia replied.

"Over him my ass" Cora spat

"I am seriously over him, what do I need to do to prove it to you " Amelia slurred trying to reach for the wine glass but Cora took it further away from her.

"Date someone for reals, not this -' I need to get him out of my system ' dating that you are doing." Cora said. She has been friends with Amelia since high school, so she could read her like an open book.

"I will not just date anyone but I will be getting married tonight",she announced suddenly with so much determination.

"What, Amelia, you had too much to drink, let's get you home."Cora urgued but Amelia kept holding onto the table.

On the other end of the bar in a VIP booth, a young man giving off a cold aura sat imposingly on the couch. He scanned the area like he wanted to imprint it in his head.

"Yo you guys , look what the cat dragged in"Davis one of his friends said as he settled beside the imposing man.

"The famous businessman, the one and only ice king." Ivan teased but he still kept quiet.

"Luciano, what's for dinner."Davis said with an ambiguous tone, because he ate small and big businesses for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just then a loud noise drew their attention.

"What was that?" Ivan asked.

They soon found out because an obviously drunk woman sashed into their booth.

"You in the middle, let's get married."she declared leaving everyone present speechless, some of the people at the bar who attracted by the noise made their way there, some of them made videos of the scene.

It's gonna be iconic- the queen of scandals proposing to the ice king and getting rejected. But they were in for the shock of their lives.

"How dare you barge in here and spill such nonsense from your mouth." Davis snapped but Luciano's next words left him speechless.

"Why not, as long as you are willing"

This was the first sentence he said since his arrival and it left them even more speechless.

"Amelia, what are you doing in here, I told you to wait in the car" Cora scolded, she didn't take notice of the men the room and attempted to take Amelia out of the booth because there were people peeking into the booth, she believed that Amelia must have done something embarrassing.

"Cora I am getting married don't take me away from my husband," She whined.

"To whom are you getting married to, you don't go proposing marriage to strangers ." Cora expressed but Amelia seemed lost to reason. The people present were enjoying the drama unfolding before them, the queen of scandals proposing marriage to the ice king, tomorrow's headline will be hot.

"Husband let's go before they try to separate us again " Amelia said clinging tightly to Luciano who in turn took her to the car and drove off leaving a stunned audience behind.

************

At the civil affairs beareu, Amelia was grinning from ear to ear whilst holding the marriage certificate.

" I got married before you" she thought excitedly as she skipped out of the beareu.

Cora had the feeling that by morning she would regret it all.

"Cora I am going home with my husband don't wait for me." With that she skipped all the way to Luciano's car while humming a sweet tune to herself.

Luciano joined her in the car and drove off. Cora couldn't believe what just happened. Did her friend just get married to a random stranger and that too from a club, when she wakes up in the morning, she'd totally regret her actions tonight. With a loud sigh she left in her car.

**************

True to Cora's thoughts, Amelia woke up in the morning, sober, trying to figure out where she was and what she was doing here.

"Where am I, did I drink too much, I hope I didn't..... Ahhhh" she screamed as she saw a half naked man beside her, her sheriking voice woke Luciano.

"Good morning wifey" Luciano said with a playful smile on his still sleepy face. Seeing them now , one would think that were a couple so in love.

"Wife, who is your wife? ." She said trying to sound confident ' what the hell did I do last night ' she thought inwardly.

" You wound me wifey" Luciano said with a mock sad expression.

"Stop calling me that I am not your wi...." She shut up when it all came back to her.

"F**k" she cursed.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
