Mated to the forbidden three: A triplet mate bond Chapter 1 A sudden revelation

Isabella's POV

The full moon was just three days away and I was so excited. I couldn't keep still as I kept fantasizing about what came with the full moon.

Three days from now was my mating ceremony, the one I had waited for and dreamt about since I was still a kid. I had always talked about it being a fairytale and the moon goddess being so benevolent had granted me that wish.

The moment my wolf had sensed Alpha Cain as my mate six months ago, it was as if my world had finally aligned. He was strong, powerful, and admired by the entire Blood moon Pack.

And now, he was mine.

After taking one last look at my reflection in the mirror, I turned around to leave. Dressed in a soft lavender I headed for the pack house. I was going to spend the night with Alpha Cain.

On arrival, I stood outside the pack house for a while as my heart pounded with excitement. In a few days, this was going to be my new home and I was looking forward to it.

Grabbing the small picnic basket in my hands which was a homemade surprise dinner for Cain, my lips curled into a bright smile.

Meeting with him had always been a hassle because he was laden with pack duties and so he barely had enough time to spend with me, but today, it was going to be different.

Tonight was all about us and I was going to relish every single moment of it. This was going to be the last meeting before we will be mated officially.

The guards didn't stop me and since I knew my way around the pack house, I pushed the front door of his chamber open. It was unlocked as always so I made my way in, careful not to make any sound.

I wanted to surprise him.

But tonight, the surprise wasn't mine to give.

It was mine to receive.

The scent hit me before anything else; it was the unmistakable scent of two wolves in heat.

My wolf whimpered in the back of her mind as I tiptoed towards his bedroom. My instinct asked me to stop, to turn around and leave but my curiosity pushed me forward.

And then I saw them.

Cain, my mate, Alpha of Black Moon Pack and Sienna, my best friend.

Sienna was straddled on top of him, their bodies tangled as his hands grabbed her waist as if she belonged to him. Her moans filled the room; they were echoing, haunting, unforgettable.

Against my wish, I let out a loud howl as my heart clenched tightly against my chest.

At that instant, Cain's head snapped toward the door, horror washing over his face while Sienna gasped, scrambling off him and trying to cover herself, guilt flashing in her eyes.

"Isabella... wait... it's not what you think." Cain ratted out. He was breathless, his hair tousled and his lips still wet from their intense kiss.

Fueled with anger, I wanted to yell my lungs out again but instead, I laughed.

"Not what I think?" I huffed, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Cain, you cheated with my best friend, you couldn't even wait a few more days?"

Sienna rushed toward me, trying to grab my hand but I veered backwards, "Bella, please... listen..."

"Don't," I yelled, glaring murderously at her. My hands had begun to tremble now so the basket I was holding fell to the ground. The bottle of wine I had intended to share with him shattered, red liquid spilling across the marble floor like blood.

"Don't come any closer, else I wouldn't hesitate to end you right here." I yelled, my chest rising and falling in rhythm.

"The bond... it doesn't change what I feel for you." Cain sauntered, sounding desperate.

"But it does for me," I whispered as my voice and lips trembled.

Mustering courage, I forced myself to look back at him in his eyes and with a firm and unwavering voice, said, "I, Isabella Leigh, reject you, Alpha Cain, as my mate."

"Bella..." They yelled in unison and immediately, the bond snapped violently in my chest as my wolf howled in pain.

"I swear I don't know what came over me..." I didn't wait to hear anymore excuses. I turned around to leave, running as fast as my legs could carry me.

Now in the woods, I fell on my knees, tears streaming down my eyes with no restriction. This wasn't what I had imagined; it wasn't supposed to be like this.

I was supposed to be marked soon.

Claimed by Alpha Cain and then assumed my position as the Luna of the Pack.

Instead, things spiraled out of control and I rejected my mate.

When I finally got home, I was greeted with an entirely different sight that made me raise my brow in confusion. Walking further into the room, I called, "Mom?" my voice was. "What's going on?" I asked, alternating my gaze from her to the box she was packing.

Startled, mother swirled around to face me, "Isabella, sweetheart. I thought you were staying at Cain's tonight..."

The name twisted in my chest like a blade.

"I'm moving," She said, seeing the expression on my face as she zipped up the suitcase she was handling. "My mate, he's ready to have us now."

After several years of being without a mate, the moon goddess out of her benevolence gave mother a second chance mate; the Alpha of the Moon Crest Pack.

They had met during a function a few months ago and now they were ready to live together as mates.

"I thought I would give you some time with Cain before we leave, but..." She narrowed her eyes like she had just remembered something.

"Did something happen?" She asked, peering into my eyes.

I didn't respond at once.

My lips parted, but no words came out, I didn't want to talk about it, not now.

"I'll come with you." I said, evading her question.

"Are you sure?" Mother asked, blinking her eyes while I nodded in confirmation.

"There's nothing for me here anymore." I shrugged only to end up telling her everything that had happened.

Instead of brooding, I joined in packing our bags, the weight of what I had done, rejecting Cain, rejecting the bond pressing down on my chest, but I didn't regret it.

I couldn't regret it.

By dawn, a black SUV pulled up in front of the house.

At first I thought it was Alpha Cain who had come to create a scene but instead a tall figure stepped out of the car. From my discretion, the boy was no older than twenty-one.

He looked like the kind that turned heads effortlessly. He was dressed in black jeans and a leather jacket. He moved with a quiet and dangerous confidence that couldn't be ignored.

"That's Darcy, my mate's son." Mother said from behind me. "He's here to take us to the Moon Crest Pack."

"I see." I spewed the first thing that came to mind.

I grabbed my bag, and with my mother right behind me, I stepped out to meet with him but the second I locked eyes with him, everything changed.

My breath hitched against my throat as the mate bond snapped in place.

Again.

No.

Not again.

It's too soon.

This can't be real.

Darcy's lips parted slightly, as if he felt it too. His eyes, bright amber like, stared at me in silent recognition.

But then, his expression switched, guarded and unreadable.

My pulse thundered in my ears as my wolf whimpered in confusion.

"No," I whispered under my breath.

"Not again..."

I went to the New York City Clerk's office to handle a simple administrative matter, but the woman behind the glass handed me a nightmare instead. It was a certified marriage license from Clark County, Nevada, filed exactly three months ago. My vision blurred as I read the name in the spouse field: Baxter Noel. I was legally married to the ruthless billionaire whose legal team was currently suing me for intellectual property theft and trying to destroy my career. I remembered the conference in Las Vegas and a drink that tasted far too sweet, followed by a twelve-hour black hole in my memory that I had chalked up to exhaustion. When I sought help at my family's estate, my stepmother and sister didn't offer comfort; they stole my passport, shredded my clothes, and framed me for academic plagiarism to strip away my university fellowship. Even Baxter himself looked me in the eye with cold indifference, claiming he didn't know me and promising to have me arrested for fraud if I ever showed him that document again. Within twenty-four hours, I was homeless, jobless, and being hunted by the most powerful man in the city. I couldn't understand why a man who "eats people for breakfast" would be caught in the same trap as a struggling scientist like me. The confusion turned to pure terror when I looked at the witness signature on the license: Gene Mcclain. My mother, who was supposed to have died in a car crash ten years ago, had signed that paper with a fresh, trembling hand only ninety days ago. "I am holding a grenade, and I have no idea when the pin was pulled." Standing in the biting November wind with nothing but a laptop and a marriage license, I realized I was just a pawn in a much deadlier game. I stopped running and began to fight back, determined to use my unwanted status as the billionaire's wife to uncover the truth about the mother who came back from the dead.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

I was once the princess of the Upper East Side, but now I’m just "debt wrapped in pretty skin." To keep my father alive in a federal penitentiary, I signed a contract I didn't fully understand. I thought it was about restoring my family's name, but producer Barnett Orr treated it like a bill of sale for my soul. Inside his limousine, the air smelled like gasoline and fear. Barnett didn't want a star; he wanted a victim. He bruised my jaw and ripped my vintage silk gown to shreds, laughing because he knew I couldn't fight back without signing my father's death warrant. "Don't forget who owns you, Felicity," he whispered. When he dragged me into Dewitt Knight’s penthouse party, I was a walking disaster. I huddled in Barnett’s oversized jacket, my lip bleeding and my spirit shattered. The elite crowd didn't see a victim; they saw a fallen girl selling herself for a role. A former rival poured red wine over me, and the room erupted in cruel laughter while Barnett told everyone he was just "testing my commitment." I looked up at the balcony, locking eyes with Dewitt Knight. He was a god in a bespoke suit, looking down at me with cold, lethal disgust. He didn't see the bruises or the desperation. He only saw a transaction he found beneath him. "So the rumors are true," he said, his voice cutting through the music. "The Aguilars really will do anything for money now. Even this." I was trapped between a monster who wanted to break me and a man who thought I was trash. No one cared that my father's life depended on my silence. When Barnett cornered me in a guest room later that night, his belt jingling like a death knell, I realized no one was coming to save a girl like me. I fought back with a crystal vase, shattering it against his shoulder, but I was drowning in my own terror. Just as Barnett lunged for my throat, the door was kicked off its hinges. Dewitt stood there, finally seeing the blood on the carpet and the map of purple bruises on my bare back. He chased the monster away, but I didn't feel safe. I locked the guest room door, wedged a chair under the handle, and slept with a silver letter opener pressed against my skin. When I crept into the kitchen at midnight and found him waiting in the shadows, I aimed the blade at his heart. "In this house, no one hurts you," he promised, his voice a low velvet rumble. But in a world where I had already been sold once, I knew that even protection came with a price I couldn't afford to pay.
