Chapter 1 Fateful Encounter

Victor stood at the crowded room, his eyes scanning the faces of the guests. The charity gala became in full swing, however he felt out of place. At 32, he turned into one of the youngest billionaires inside the city, but money couldn't purchase happiness. He sighed, strolling a hand via his darkish hair.

That's when he noticed her.

She stood on my own by using the bar, a vision in a simple blue dress. Her lengthy brown hair fell in smooth waves around her shoulders, and her eyes sparkled as she laughed at something the bartender said. Victor felt his heart skip a beat.

Without wondering, he made his manner over to her. "Can I purchase you a drink?" he asked, flashing his most captivating smile.

"Oh, um, Yes," she said, her cheeks turning purple. "I'm Rose."

"Victor," he responded, stretching his hand. When she took it, he felt a spark of strength run through him. "So, Rose, what brings you to this fancy celebration?"

Rose laughed, the sound like a song to Victor's ears. "I'm a trainer at the nearby elementary college. We got a present from this charity last year, so they invited me to return and say thank you."

Victor raised an eyebrow. "A instructor? That's awesome. It must be rewarding ."

They talked for hours, dropping track of time. Rose turned humorous and short, her eyes lit up when she talked about her college students. Victor found himself attracted to her warm temperature and genuineness. It became so specific from the fake smiles and hidden agendas he generally dealt with in his international life.

As the night time wound down, Victor did not need it to give up. "Would you want to get out of right here?" he requested, his voice low. "We should move back to my vicinity for a nightcap."

Rose bit her lip, looking uncertain. "I do not commonly do that," she said softly. "But there's something about you, Victor. Yes, I'd like that."

The next morning, Victor woke to an empty bed and was aware of the pillow. "Thank you for an outstanding night. I'll never forget it. Rose"

He crumpled the paper in his fist, a mixture of feelings swirling in his chest. Part of him desired to find her, to peer at her again. But the larger element, the component hardened by using years of humans best trying him for his cash, drove the ones feelings apart. It became just one night. Nothing greater.

Weeks passed, and Victor threw himself into his work, seeking to neglect Rose. But destiny had different plans.

One wet afternoon, his secretary buzzed his workplace. "Sir, there's a girl here to peer at you. She says it's pressing."

Victor frowned. He did not have any appointments scheduled. "Send her in," he said, interested in getting the better of him.

The door opened, and his heart stopped. It was Rose.

She looked unique now. Her face became faded, and darkish circles shadowed her eyes. She wrung her arms nervously as she approached his table.

"Victor," she stated, her voice shaking. "I'm sorry to return right here like this, but I failed to realize what else to do. I'm... I'm pregnant."

Victor gripped the edge of his desk, his knuckles turning white. "What?" he controlled to choke out.

Rose's eyes packed with tears. "I understand it's a shock. It changed for me too. But I thought you had the right to recognise it."

Victor's thoughts raced. A baby? He wasn't geared up for this. He had an empire to run, responsibilities. And Rose... He barely knew her. This couldn't be going on.

"Are you positive it's mine?" he asked coldly, regretting the phrases as quickly as they left his mouth.

Rose recoiled as if she'd been slapped. "Yes, I'm sure," she stated, her voice difficult. "I'm no longer that type of person, Victor."

He stood up, pacing in the back of his desk. "What do you want from me?" he demanded. "Money?"

"No!" Rose cried, tears now flowing freely. "I don't want your cash. I simply... I thought you have to recognise it. I thought maybe..."

"Maybe what?" Victor snapped. "That we'd play glad families? I'm sorry, Rose, however it really is not going to occur. I cannot be a father. I won't be."

Rose's face crumpled, and Victor felt a pang of guilt. But he drove it aside. He could not have enough money to be vulnerable now.

"I'll have my legal professional draw up a few papers," he said, not meeting her eyes. "I'll provide financial help, of course, however it truly is all. I don't need any part of this... Scenario."

Rose stood up slowly, her frame shaking. "I don't need your money," she said quietly. "And I do not need anything to do with someone so heartless. Goodbye, Victor."

She walked out, closing the door softly at the back of her. Victor collapsed into his chair, his head in his hands. What had he finished?

Before he could dwell on it similarly, his phone rang. It turned into his grandfather, Richard.

"Victor, my boy," the vintage guy's voice boomed via the speaker. "I need to look at you right away. It's vital."

Twenty mins later, Victor sat in his grandfather's take a look at, a sense of dread growing in his stomach. Richard Maxwell became not a person to be trifled with. At 80, he still dominated the circle of relatives with an iron fist.

"Victor," Richard said, his hairy eyebrows drawn collectively in a frown. "I'm not getting any more youthful, and it is time we mentioned the future of Maxwell Industries."

Victor nodded, sitting up straighter. "Of direction, Grandfather. What did you want to talk about?"

Richard constant him with a steely gaze. "It's time with the intention to relax, boy. Get married, start a family. The organization needs balance, a clear line of succession."

Victor's mouth went dry. "Married? But Grandfather, I'm targeting the agency proper now. There's no time for"

"No time?" Richard interrupted, his voice sharp. "Make time. Because if you don't, I'll don't have any choice but to name your step brother James as my successor."

Victor felt like he'd been punched inside the gut. James? That snake could run the employer into the floor in a year.

"You can not be critical," Victor protested. "James does not recognise the first issue, approximately jogging Maxwell Industries!"

Richard's expression softened barely. "Then deliver me a purpose now not to pick out him, Victor. Find an appropriate wife, display to me you are ready to lead this own family into the future. You have one month."

Victor left his grandfather's residence in a daze. His mind became spinning. Marriage? A toddler? How had his existence spiraled so out of manipulate in only a few brief weeks?

As he drove domestic, the photograph of Rose's tearstained face flashed through his thoughts. He gripped the steering wheel tighter, pushing the notion away. He couldn't think about her now. He had an agency to keep.

But fate, it regarded, had different plans. As Victor grew to come onto his street, he saw a familiar parent taking walks on the sidewalk. His heart leaped into his throat.

It turned into Rose.

She hadn't seen him yet. Should he prevent it? Talk to her? Apologize for being one of these jerks earlier?

Before he may want to decide, a car got here screeching across the nook. It was heading straight for Rose.

Without thinking, Victor slammed on his brakes and threw open his door. "Rose!" he yelled. "Look out!"

Rose turned, her eyes extensive with fear as the automobile bore down on her. Time seemed to slow down as Victor ran towards her, his heart pounding in his ears.

Would he attain her in time?

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
