Alex Lunaria's POV
Years gone, the Ashwood pack was cursed by the moon goddess, preventing male children from being born, and only male alphas could rule the pack.
This was the fate my father gave me when he was still alive. After my birth, my father announced to the pack that the moon goddess accepted his prayer.
'An heir has been born.'
He decided to turn me into an heir, making me learn to rule like a male Alpha, and here I am today, still carrying my father's reputation as
'Lunaria.'
The sun shone directly into my chamber, hitting the mirror and casting a light reflection on my face. I groaned and turned away from the bed.
With my eyes still closed, still sleeping, I suddenly realized it was morning as a knock sounded on my door.
I jumped out of bed with my messy hair and nightgown, walking towards the mirror. I cleared my throat.
'Who is there?' I asked in a deep voice, wincing as I forced my voice deeper.
'It's me, Maya. It's time to dress you, my alpha," she said from behind the door.
My gaze drifted back to the mirror, scanning my reflection with a mix of frustration, seeing myself looking feminine, dressed in my favorite gown from last night before going to sleep.
'Alpha will dress himself up,' I replied with my voice deeper, still looking at the mirror.
After a moment, I stood still and sniffed the air to see if she was gone.
A heavy breath escaped my lips, and my shoulders sagged in defeat. Disguising myself as a male had not been easy.
I sat down in front of the mirror, picked out my green eyeshadow, and applied it, wincing with tears in the corner of my eyes, making me look handsome like the man I was pretending to be.
I styled my short hair into a bob, put on a ribbon with beads for decoration, and went to my wardrobe to bring out a white cloth wrap.
'I have to do this again,' I whispered in my normal voice, taking off my nightgown and wrapping the white cloth around my chest to flatten it.
Finally dressed in my royal attire, this was my routine every morning. While standing at the mirror, another knock sounded.
I sniffed and knew it was Sophia, my Luna. She was nothing but my fake mate, claimed for me by my father before he died.
'Come in,' I said in my deep manly voice. She opened the door, dressed in a beautiful ball gown. I gulped, wishing I could wear something like that too.
'My alpha, I have missed you. I was surprised that you haven't touched me ever since you claimed me as your mate,' she said, with a frown creasing her forehead.
I looked at her for a second. "What made you think I won't touch you?" I asked, fixing my gaze on her.
'Just touch me, alpha. The council will start asking for an heir, and my heat period is coming soon.
I could feel it, her voice cracked, looking like she could even beg me to touch her.
She stepped closer to me, her eyes pleading. I lifted my arm and placed it on her shoulder as we both fixed our gaze on each other.
'Touch me, alpha!' she said slowly, her voice husky. I found my hand moving towards her jaw, looking at her.
'It is not yet time.' I said, before she could say a word, I placed my lips on hers, kissing her passionately. I cut the kiss with my words 'Not now' and walked away.
Escaping her was the best thing to do. I couldn't believe that I kissed my fellow female. I walked out of my chambers, and immediately my guards followed with my Beta.
'Good morning, alpha,' he said, trying to catch up with my walking pace.
'Go on,' I said without replying to his greetings.
'We are having a meeting with the seven councils,' he informed me.
The council were like my elders, with whom I consulted and discussed matters about the pack. It was unusual for them to have a meeting without informing me.
'They are currently at the palace,' he said.
'Alright then,' I stopped in front of the chambers. My beta was second in command, Louis, signaled, and the guards opened the doors. I stepped into the passage of the palace, with all eyes fixed on me.
'All hail, the mighty Alpha Alex Lunaria of the Ashwood pack, the bloodline to the Lunaria."
'All hail,' everyone bowed. Each step I took made me feel mighty until I reached my throne. I turned towards them.
'You can all rise,' I said, sitting down. Then, one guard made another announcement.
'All hail, Sophia Mech Lunaria, the Luna of the Ashwood pack.' She walked in with her blue ball gown and her hair in a ponytail.
Everyone bowed as she reached the throne and sat next to me.
'Lift up your heads,' I commanded, and their heads were lifted. I turned my gaze towards Sophia and gave her a broad smile.
"So, what matters are arising in the pack?" I asked. One of the council members stepped in.
"The issue arising is the rumor flying around that the Alpha is impotent." Those words triggered me, and he fell to his knees.
'I'm sorry, Your Highness, I didn't mean to,' he said, his voice cracking with fear. I laughed out loud, and everyone stared at me strangely.
'Impotent!' I clenched the fist of my throne in annoyance.
'Let the one who spoke those words be brought to me,' I bellowed, still clenching the fist of my throne.
Immediately, some guards barged in, bringing a guy drenched in blood to the palace and threw him in front of me.
'You said those words. Who sent you?' I asked, trying to retain my anger.
'It's your L...' he stammered, unable to finish his words. My Luna stood up angrily, grabbed a sword from one of the guards, and sliced his head off.
'No one dares call my Alpha impotent!'
'Take Luna to her chamber and clean him up,' I ordered, and my Luna was immediately taken to her room. I could see the rage in her.
'Your highness, we really need an heir,' one of the elders said.
'Cut his throat,' I bellowed.
