A fiercely independent fashion designer, she vowed never to be controlled until the night her father trades her away to settle a debt. Her new owner? Alexei Drakos. A ruthless Greek mafia kingpin. A man who never forgets a debt... or a face. Ten years ago, Alexei saw Lena sketching in her father's garden, her fire searing into his mind like a brand. He walked away that day but he never let her go. Now, he's come back to claim her. Trapped in Alexei's gilded cage, Lena vows to escape, to shatter the chains that bind her. But Alexei doesn't just want her obedience. He wants her heart. Her soul. Her surrender. As their battle of wills ignites into something dark and undeniable, Lena faces an impossible choice: fight for her freedom or fall for the man who would burn the world to keep her. A tale of power, obsession, and passion, His Price, Her Fate is a dark romance with high-stakes tension, forbidden desire, and a love that defies the rules.

Chapter 1 The Trade

Viktor's Study, Zielińska Family Estate – Warsaw, Poland

"She's yours now," Viktor said.Lena froze. Her fists clenched. The room smelled like smoke and whiskey.

Viktor didn't even look at her. He handed Alexei the contract like Lena wasn't even there.

Alexei stood quietly across from him. People feared him. They didn't mess with him.

Lena's heart beat fast, but she didn't let them see it.

"This is a joke," she said, her voice shaking. "Tell me you're joking." Viktor met her eyes. "You'll do as you are told Lena" Lena's hand moved before she could stop it. The slap rang through the room.

Alexei didn't flinch. He touched his jaw where her hand had left a mark.

He was silent.Viktor sighed. "Lena..."She didn't listen. Her eyes stayed on Alexei, looking for any sign of weakness.

Without warning, Alexei shoved her back against the desk. A cold feeling shot up her spine.

His hand grabbed her wrist, not to hurt her, but to stop her from moving."I don't tolerate disrespect," he said.

"I don't tolerate being sold," Lena shot back.

"You'll learn," he said. Lena glared at him, but there was something in his eyes that disappeared too quickly for her to understand.

"If you kill her," Viktor said, not looking up, "it's your problem. The deal still stands." Lena's stomach twisted. He didn't care at all.

Alexei let go of her wrist.

Lena pulled her hand back, stumbling. Her breath came fast, and the anger inside her grew." "I'll never forgive you for this," she said to Viktor.

Viktor shrugged. "That's not my problem."Lena's hands shook. She remembered how this all started.

Earlier That Day

Lena Zielińska was in her boutique, surrounded by fabric and sewing machines.

Boutique Z was her pride, built from nothing.

She was fixing a gown when Zuza, her best friend and assistant, came over.

"The new shipment of silk is here!" Zuza said excitedly.

Lena smiled but then felt her phone buzz. It was her father, Viktor. When he called during the day, it was never good.

Lena stepped into her office to answer."Come to the estate. Now," Viktor's voice said, and the line went dead.

Her heart raced. Something was wrong.

Present

Lena's life had just been traded. But she wasn't going to give up without a fight.

Alexei said nothing. He just watched her.

Elsewhere in the Estate

Lena was gone. The car drove off into the night.

Upstairs, Anna stood still, shaking as she held a wine glass.

She had seen it all. Watched her daughter leave. "Stop staring, Anna. It's done," Viktor said, standing behind her.Anna didn't move. The glass felt heavy in her hand.

She wanted to scream. To run after the car. But the gates were already closing as she drank her wine.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
