Jevail Gabriel was startled when he felt Melody's lips pressed against his-on the night of his engagement. "You're not going to get rid of me," Melody hissed as she parted her lips from his. Still stunned, he watched as she turned to the attendees-under their awe-filled gazes-and declared herself his legal wife, stating that, according to the law, a man cannot remarry without first obtaining a divorce. With that, she pronounced the engagement null and void, sending the crowd into a frenzy while journalists captured the moment, streaming it live on the internet. "You played dirty, Melody! You'll beg for mercy. But first... I'll make you regret it, dear wife," Jevail growled, shoving her onto the bed and tightly securing her hands with his red tie.

The Billonarie's Hidden Wife Chapter 1 The Shoke

"You're a fraud and a lair. We cannot be under the same roof." The blond man stood out with his athletic body, his perfect muscles visible even under his shirt. He glared at her with contempt, as if she had committed a murder in front of him.

"What are you talking about? I didn't expect you to lose trust in me like this. Where did our deep love go, Noah?" A girl with short red hair and black tips said.

The silver earrings she wore swayed whenever she tried to grab his arm. While he turned his head every time she stood before him.

She felt the passers-by gazes on her. They started whispering and pointing their fingers in sympathy at her.

The atmosphere was tense , making it difficult for her to breathe despite her efforts to hold on and avoid collapse. Noah was the love of her life. Eight years of deep love sharing the sweet and bitter togather without complaint. And now, he would simply leave her? Breaking her heart with every single word he said.

"It's all over, Melody. We can't continue togather," he growled sadly, after pushing her to the ground next to his feetfoot. She was shocked as soon as she reached the ground. She didn't expect him to humiliate and push her like this.

Even though her eyes was burning, she refused to let her tears flow for someone who did not appreciate or respect her. Someone simply abandoned her.

She felt as if her heartbeat was in her head instead of her heart . However, She got up calmly, shook off her red dress, embroidered with unique perfection, and ignored the whispers around her.

With eyes full of questions, she asked, 'Why, Noah? Why now? I'll not allow you to insult me anymore. My love for you does not mean that you can insult me."

Despite her warning tone, Noah rolled his eyes in disdain, not paying any attention to her.

Suddenly, he approached her and grabbed her shoulders tightly.

She was only inches away from his face, which was filled with both consolation and the desire to destroy her. This was the first time she had seen Noah act like thatthis.

"Are you really asking why, Melody? Damn it." He hissed through his gritted teeth before throwing her again with excessive force, tearing her only dress suitable for going out on a date with him..

While her mind struggled to analyze what Noah was saying on one hand, and the state she had reached on the other, she tried to cover the bare part of her shoulder.

'What should I do? Oh God!! My only dress,... people are watching me,' she whispered to herself feeling humiliation. She couldn't believe that Noah had done this to her.

"When were you planning on informing me that you're now with someone else? When were you going to bother telling me that you are married?" He exclaimed in a load voice that attracted more public attention to her.

Her eyes turned red, her veins popped, knowing that he had discovered everything.

"Noah, Noah, dear, Listen to me. I will explain everything about this matter." She stuttered as she tried to stand up to catch up with his fast steps. She was bumping into passers-by, leaving behind a bouquet of red flowers lying on the ground.

The scene of Noah throwing away the ring that took her two years to collect the money to buy, was repeated in her mind. She wanted to propose him, but she did not expect that he would reject her in such a tragic way."

The sounds of the water hitting the side of the bridge were mixed with the whisperings of the people around her. Their contemptuous looks penetrated her mind. Even the breeze made her suffocate when she saw the view of the sunset enjoyed by those standing there on the bridge, reminding her of when her love story with him began, and its end today.

"Noah, listen to me, please. This didn't happen by my will. Noah, believe me, that marriage was just a deal," Melody screamed until she felt her vocal cords being cut off, watching from afar Noah's car as he drove away, without even looking back at her for the last time. She cried until she could no longer feel her breath.

Her body hit the ground after her feet betrayed her, making the situation even worse. No one offered her a helping hand, and no one felt the extent of the pain she was experiencing.

With her trembling hands, she tried to call him. 'He's already blocked me!' she whispered in her mind in disbelief.

A call came from her grandfather, but she ignored it. For a moment, she expected that it was Noah who called. Feeling disappointed she smashed her phone on the ground to simulate the wreckage of her broken heart, feeling the pain every passing second. With difficulty, she dragged her feet walking towards nowhere.

'Damn it,'She hissed. 'What about the dreams we made together? What about everything we planned? The children, the house, the garage, the garden – everything was destroyed and gone to hell; only ashes remained.' Her mind was buzzing with these words as she walked without a specific destination.

A bar down the street caught her attention. She didn't care if she was going to spend the last of her upgrade money. In any case, she had planned to spend it by taking Noah to one of the upscale restaurants. But she didn't care anymore; Noah was gone forever.

The marble walls, the sounds of loud music, and the smell of cigarettes mixed with the scents of perfumes worth thousands of dollars; even if she worked for the rest of her life, she would not be able to buy one like it.

The people there looked at her with a kind of disgust because of her miserable appearance. She ignored their hurtful comments and he started drinking.

While I Was Bleeding Out, He Lit Lanterns For Her

As I lay on the floor of our manor, bleeding out from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, I used my last ounce of strength to call my husband, Cole. I begged him for help, my vision blurring. But the only thing I heard was the clinking of champagne glasses and his mistress's giggle in the background. "Stop the drama, June," Cole snapped, his voice cold. "We're about to go on stage. Don't call again." He hung up, leaving me to die alone on the Persian rug while he accepted an award with another woman on his arm. I woke up in the hospital days later. My baby was gone. They had removed my fallopian tube. Cole finally arrived, smelling of expensive scotch and his mistress's perfume. He didn't hug me. He didn't cry. Instead, he leaned over my hospital bed, pressing his knee into the mattress until my fresh stitches tore open and bled. "You embarrassed me by calling an ambulance," he hissed. "My mistress, Alycia, says you're faking it. Clean yourself up." He left me bleeding again to go announce a $10 million donation to Alycia's "groundbreaking" medical research. I stared at the TV screen, numb. The research Alycia was taking credit for? It was mine. I wrote that patent years ago under a pseudonym. They thought I was just a poor, orphan housewife who needed Cole's money to survive. They had no idea I was actually a billionaire scientist hiding my identity. I pulled the IV needle out of my arm. A drop of blood fell onto the divorce papers I had been hiding. I didn't wipe it off. I signed my name right over it. Then I walked into the bank, reactivated my dormant account with $128 million, and bought the penthouse directly overlooking Cole's house. The mourning widow is dead. The avenger is born.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
