The distraction Maya Sazi was seeking seemed to be far fetched because who was this almost handsome stranger behind her speaking too audibly yet in riddles........very strange she thought I came here to have my peace and quiet for crying out loud,Maya said to herself. Would Maya let herself be distracted further from the distraction she was seeking? Or just walk away?

Chapter 1 RELIEF

Maya had just woken up,the thoughts of resigning from her workplace didn't even let her sleep till her usual time.

She was trapped between feeling anxious about what her final day at SLAYTHEORY was going to be ,what her life was about to become and excitement that she was finally going to be free from hell.

Hell?? Yess

Her workplace was hell!!😭

Well,it was all going to be over today and nothing on God's earth was going to change Maya's mind.

For a split second, she realized she might have changed her mind if there was somebody to share what was going on in that hell of an office with .

Her mind jilted to Collete but No

She knew how bad of a confidant Collette could be,she wouldn't want to be on the news few minutes after telling her what was bothering her.

Even a parrot will judge Collete for her wide and loud mouth.

Maya quickly headed to the shower, she didn't want to arrive late to work on her" big day".

She didn't think resignation should be her reason for reporting late today.

She already prepared her clothes the previous night, let's just hope her indecisive self doesn't make her change her mind now.

She took a final glance at all she had laid out on the bed, from her skincare products to the deodorants and perfumes ,her cosmetics and finally, her dress and new pair of heels .

Perfect!! She exclaimed and headed into the bathroom .

*************

Facing the mirror with her about to be glammed up face, she was trying so hard to picture what the facial expression of her supervisor will be when she broke the news of her resignation to her.

Mrs.Cassie was such a nice woman, Maya just happened to meet her in the wrong place and she was certainly going to miss her smiley face and her little tip offs when Maya did a great Job.

She often brought food for Maya on days she had spare time to cook before coming to the office.

She was more like the mother she didn't have.

A thousand memories suddenly flooded her head in a split second.

Tears were already rolling down her eyes before she caught herself midway.

"This is not the time for this" Maya screamed to the person in the mirror.

She took her wipes, cleaned her face and started her makeup.

She wanted something alluring,yet simple.

She was going to do away with her signature look for today

Good Morning Miss Maya,Good Morning Miss Maya

Good Morning Natalie, replied Maya absenctmindedly

She really forgot that she was the one Natalie was greeting when she did.

When she got to the door of her office, she took a really deep breathe before she walked in

My bad,I think my precautionary measures came too early,Mrs. Cassie hasn't even reported for work yet .

She took few of her stuffs from the cabinet and stuffed them without any arrangement into her bag

She left the office with the intention of dropping a message for Mrs. Cassie with Natalie at the receptionist hall before proceeding for her business of the day but immediately got carried away by the noise in front of her office and she walked towards there to know what was going on.

She was still a staff by right till her resignation letter was attended to.

She then discovered that one of the customers was bickering with the cleaner for accidentally spilling water on her new pair of sneakers.

She immediately tried to calm the woman's nerves and apologize for the misunderstanding.

The woman then complimented her dress and they laughed casually about it.

Maya said in her mind (some of you just want to make a mountain out of a moll hill all the time).

*************************************************

" Come in" Mr.Damian responded to the knock on his door.

Maya quickly breathed in and out,put on a very stern face and entered the office.

He looked up to see who it was and he smiled, What brings my dear Maya to my office this morning?

Is there a problem?

I heard you went to resolve an issue at the Sneaker store earlier

Good Morning Sir, there was a little conflict between a customer and the cleaner but it was quickly resolved.

Alright, that's good to know.

Sir,I am here to submit my resignation letter.

Mr. Damian raised his head up ,stared at Maya for a while and continued with what he was doing

The Truth About His Mistress

I was four months pregnant, a photographer excited for our future, attending a sophisticated baby brunch. Then I saw him, my husband Michael, with another woman, and a newborn introduced as "his son." My world shattered as a torrent of betrayal washed over me, magnified by Michael's dismissive claim I was "just being emotional." His mistress, Serena, taunted me, revealing Michael had discussed my pregnancy complications with her, then slapped me, causing a terrifying cramp. Michael sided with her, publicly shaming me, demanding I leave "their" party, as a society blog already paraded them as a "picture-perfect family." He fully expected me to return, to accept his double life, telling his friends I was "dramatic" but would "always come back." The audacity, the calculated cruelty of his deception, and Serena's chilling malice, fueled a cold, hard rage I barely recognized. How could I have been so blind, so trusting of the man who gaslighted me for months while building a second family? But on the plush carpet of that lawyer's office, as he turned his back on me, a new, unbreakable resolve solidified. They thought I was broken, disposable, easily manipulated – a "reasonable" wife who would accept a sham separation. They had no idea my calm acceptance was not surrender; it was strategy, a quiet promise to dismantle everything he held dear. I would not be handled; I would not understand; I would end this, and make sure their perfect family charade crumbled into dust.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
