Chapter 1 Back For revenge

Chapter 1

"Ahh..." Being able to breathe the beautiful air of London again is a fantastic feeling, particularly when you're brought back to exact Revenge.

"Mum, come on, move..." I glanced down to see my five-year-old daughter glaring at me in despair as she tugged at the hem of my gown. Her lips were pouting in exasperation, and her brows were wrinkled in the most beautiful manner imaginable. As I stepped off the plane, I gave her a grin and embraced her.

She tried to escape my grasp and then stated, "I'm not a baby anymore, I can walk, and I didn't ask you to carry me." In general, Aria has a lot of stubbornness. I had to give up and let her fall to the ground because the pressing had become so bad. "What's it with you, missy?" Putting my hands on my hips, I asked her. In response, she tuurns her head away from me, folds her arms, and puffs up.

Whoa! "He–hey...you forgot m–me..." Aria's twin brother was attempting to move our two baggage boxes, which were around three times his size, when I glanced up back at the plane's entryway. I gasped and started running toward him. It's amazing that I almost forgot about the less sassy one. He cried out, "No no Mum, I can do it..." as I pulled the luggage away from him. His brows lifted in a determined grimace, he tried all he could to pull them over the plane's entrance.

I just stood there and saw him display his childish perseverance. Despite my occasional curses, I thank the father for giving me these little brats. For the last five years, and because of them, they have been motivating me to never give up. I... The scratchy voice of an elderly guy says, "Move him out of the way, woman!" I begin to awaken.

Archie is quickly hoisted into my arms, out of the path of the twenty or so people waiting in line inside the plane. When Archie responded, "But mum, I already had it covered," as we were bringing the boxes down the aircraft, I just set him down next his sister and added, "Sure you did, son." Fortunately, we have made it to London. Where to stay is the next thing on our list.

I know it is ridiculous that I left New York for London without arranging where my children would live in the future. I guess that was all part of the plan, however. My buddy Lily, who lives in New York, told me about this young guy who is looking for a wife to marry him soon. His parents had been bothering him about it for a long time, so he was anxious for a marriage now to get them off his back.

I realize it seems absurd, but However, if we get married, I'm expected to meet with this guy and sign a contract that will be advantageous to both of us. I came back from New York to get even with my ex-boyfriend and younger sister for their five-year treachery. After all of my late mother's possessions, including her business, were seized from me, I had no choice but to depart since they still had more rage to inflict on me.

I subsequently found out, however, that I was carrying twins, and the most heartbreaking thing is that I don't know who their father is. I'm not to fault; Things had taken a drastic turn, and I had a one-night encounter with this lovely stranger. I was devastated and wanted a little drink to get my mind straight. To be honest, I hadn't expected to get pregnant; it was simply meant to be a happy one-night event.

However, my womb decided to fertilize it with its own sperm. Five years later, my ex and his new partner were growing wealthy every day because of my efforts, while I was still struggling with my twins in New York City. I was aware that the Williams Group of Companies was founded on my labor, but I just couldn't remain behind and continue to hear about their incredible achievements. "Mum, why are we standing here?"

Aria's little voice jolted me out of my daydream, and when I glanced down, I saw her staring at me for the third time today. Then I looked at Archie, who was just standing there watching the various individuals that were going by. I wonder why, rather than being snarky like him, she couldn't simply behave more like her age and be courteous. "Mum?" she shouted out to me once again. She was correct; why are we still standing here?

Yes, I am waiting for my future husband. Other individuals were seated there, perhaps waiting to be selected, as I glanced about. "Come on kids, let's go wait over there" I grabbed Archie's wrist and the handles of the luggage boxes and made my way to the seats, Aria following me. She refused to let me hold her, so I didn't bother. While we sat there, I dialed Lily's phone. The exact opposite is happening to us,

despite her statement that the guy will be waiting for us at the airport. "Not reachable" Oh no! I had to hold myself back from smashing the phone on the floor in rage. Why is this happening to me now? I'm starting to feel bad about the whole concept of getting even. But what can I do? As I said before, I couldn't let those crooks enjoy the rewards of my effort while my precious young darlings and I lived in poverty and misery.

And getting married is the only way I can stop it-at the very least, to show them that I wasn't a helpless group. "Ringing..." Finally! "Hey babe, are you there yet?" The moment she picked up the phone, Over the speaker, Lily's upbeat voice could be heard. "Yeah, we're here alright, but we don't see Lyon, do you mind clarifying that?" I asked her, not attempting to hide the disdain in my voice.

"Erm...about that..." I hate it when she says that. She never does anything constructive when she talks like this. I groan, "Come on, Lily, not now..." "Lyon's dead, Ava," she blurts out from the other end, and I instantly stop talking. I couldn't understand her voice. "I'm sorry I didn't get you," I said. "You heard me right, Ava. She informed me that Lyon's plane crashed, killing many people, including him, and I began to feel chills.

So one passes away in that manner? He had died by the time he was meant to meet us at the airport. I let out a long sigh, remembering my situation. "What now, Lily, I cannot afford to wait here with my little kids," I said. "I don't know now, It seems it's up to you because you're the only one there," she said with a sigh before, and my eyes widened at once. What? Are you insane for letting me handle this?"

The folks surrounding me looked at me suspiciously as I yelled at her. As if that were consoling, she went on, "I swear to find you another husband tomorrow, so you can unwind and find somewhere to stay with the kids for today." I was rolling my eyes when I saw a guy come in with several other men who I thought were his bodyguards.

I was unable to look away from him; He was so ardent and overbearing in his excitement. I couldn't stop gazing over his whole masculine look. What? "What do you mean she's backing out?" he yells at the person he was speaking to on his phone. He also has a passionate tone of anger. Where do you want me to look for a bride by tomorrow? Tell me.

I thought, "Wait, did I hear correctly?" as he yelled again. "Ava, you there?" In my ear, I heard Lily's voice. It slipped my mind that I was also talking on the phone. "Hey um... I'll call you back" "Wait wh–" I hung up before she could ask me any more questions.

Suddenly an idea struck me, and I stood up to approach the seemingly well-off guy. My hips began to wiggle more unconsciously, and I pondered if it was because he was such a stunning piece of art or because of what I was about to do. "Excuse me, sir,"

I said, and he turned, his brows still furrowed in obvious anger. "Who's she?" Instead of me, he was interrogating one of his bodyguards. But I decide to answer before the latter does. When I responded, "I'm the one willing to get married to you," he narrowed his eyes on me.

I was at my own engagement party at the Sterling estate when the world started tilting. Victoria Sterling, my future mother-in-law, smiled coldly as she watched me struggle with a cup of tea that had been drugged to ruin me. Before I could find my fiancé, Ryan, a waiter dragged me into the forbidden West Wing and locked me in a room with Julian Sterling, the family’s "fallen titan" who had been confined to a wheelchair for years. The door burst open to a frenzy of camera flashes and theatrical screams. Victoria framed me as a seductress caught in the act, and Ryan didn't even try to listen to my pleas, calling me "cheap leftovers" before walking away with his pregnant mistress. When I turned to my own family for help, my father signed a document severing our relationship for a five-million-dollar payout from Julian. They traded me like a commodity without a second thought. I didn't understand why my own parents were so eager to sell me, or how Ryan could look at me with such disgust after promising me forever. I was a sacrifice, a pawn used to protect the family's offshore accounts, and I couldn't fathom how every person I loved had a price tag for my destruction. With nowhere left to go, I married Julian in a bleak ceremony at City Hall. He slid a heavy diamond onto my finger and whispered, "We have a war to start." That night, inside his secret penthouse, I watched the paralyzed man stand up from his wheelchair and activate a screen filled with the Sterling family's darkest secrets. The execution had officially begun.

I spent four hours preparing a five-course meal for our fifth anniversary. When Jackson finally walked into the penthouse an hour late, he didn't even look at the table. He just dropped a thick Manila envelope in front of me and told me he was done. He said his stepsister, Davida, was getting worse and needed "stability." I wasn't his wife; I was a placeholder, a temporary fix he used until the woman he actually loved was ready to take my place. Jackson didn't just want a divorce; he wanted to erase me. He called me a "proprietary asset," claiming that every design I had created to save his empire belonged to him. He froze my bank accounts, cut off my phone, and told me I’d be nothing without his name. Davida even called me from her hospital bed to flaunt the family heirloom ring Jackson claimed was lost, mocking me for being "baggage" that was finally being cleared out. I stood in our empty home, realizing I had spent five years being a martyr for a man who saw me as a transaction. I couldn't understand how he could be so blind to the monster he was protecting, or how he could discard me so coldly after I had given him everything. I grabbed my hidden sketchbook, shredded our wedding portrait, and walked out into the rain. I dialed a number I hadn't touched in years—a dangerous man known as The Surgeon who dealt in debts and shadows. I told him I was ready to pay his price. Jackson and Davida wanted to steal my identity, but I was about to show the world the literal scars they had left behind.

"Let's get married," Mia declares, her voice trembling despite her defiant gaze into Stefan's guarded brown eyes. She needs this, even if he seems untouchable. Stefan raises a skeptical brow. "And why would I do that?" His voice was low, like a warning, and it made her shiver even though she tried not to show it. "We both have one thing in common," Mia continues, her gaze unwavering. "Shitty fathers. They want to take what's ours and give it to who they think deserves it." A pointed pause hangs in the air. "The only difference between us is that you're an illegitimate child, and I'm not." Stefan studies her, the heiress in her designer armor, the fire in her eyes that matches the burn of his own rage. "That's your solution? A wedding band as a weapon?" He said ignoring the part where she just referred to him as an illegitimate child. "The only weapon they won't see coming." She steps closer, close enough for him to catch the scent of her perfume, gunpowder and jasmine. "Our fathers stole our birthrights. The sole reason they betrayed us. We join forces, create our own empire that'll bring down theirs." A beat of silence. Then, Stefan's mouth curves into something sharp. "One condition," he murmurs, closing the distance. "No divorces. No surrenders. If we're doing this, it's for life" "Deal" Mia said without missing a beat. Her father wants to destroy her life. She wouldn't give him the pleasure, she would destroy her life as she seems fit. ................ Two shattered heirs. One deadly vow. A marriage built on revenge. Mia Meyers was born to rule her father's empire (so she thought), until he named his bastard son heir instead. Stefan Sterling knows the sting of betrayal too. His father discarded him like trash. Now the rivals' disgraced children have a poisonous proposal: Marry for vengeance. Crush their fathers' legacies. Never speak of divorce. Whoever cracks first loses everything. Can these two rivals, united by their vengeful hearts, pull off a marriage of convenience to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs? Or will their fathers' animosity, and their own complicated pasts tear their fragile alliance apart?
