A Contractual Affair: Falling For The Billionaire's Step Son Chapter 1 Against Time

Juliet's Point of view

"You are like a father to me; I can't marry you. Please just help us, sir," I said and pleaded with my boss, who sat comfortably on his black leather chair, with the expectation that I would jump on his lap like his bitch does every time he needs them.

"Oh! Really, if you can't sign the contract marriage, then I guess you prefer to be an orphan if your mother dies." He said with his voice laced with seriousness.

I know he meant everything he said, as he stood up and slowly approached me; he began to speak in a low and odd tone, and I quickly remembered how he used to calm his prey before he would start the main task.

"You see, Juliet, you and your mother need my help, and I'll gladly do anything to help you, but what will I gain in return if you don't sign the marriage contract?" He asked me in a low and deceptive tone.

I gently removed his hand from my shoulder, like I always do, but I noticed he was becoming too intimate, so I hurriedly stormed out of his office.

He tries to stop me by blocking the door of his dimly lit office. I clench my fist together as I see his blazing eyes and the shape of his hard cock, straightened on his black trousers.

"Sir, please let me go." I pleaded in a soft tone, but he didn't hear my pleas; his cock is already aroused and needs to quench the fire with my virgin pussy.

"I'm not going to hurt Juliet; just abide by what I want, and all my wealth is all yours." He mused thoughtfully; as I walked further to the door, he pushed me back.

Mr. George has been longing to have sex with me, ever since I became his secretary, after the death of my father. I never prayed or wanted to work with such a man, but what options do I have? there was no other means to get a well-paid job in London Dockland,

How do I cater to the needs of my mother and me?

After a few minutes, I thought of becoming prey myself if I truly wanted to escape his nest, so I played along with him.

I remembered the pornography that was mistakenly sent to my WhatsApp number by an unknown number; I remembered how the lady there seduced her stepfather into having sex with her; I made the sex scene come alive at that moment just to escape Mr. George's office.

"Alright, boss, I've heard you, and I'm willing to do anything with you right now." I changed the tone in my voice to a romantic one.

"Exactly, my point, Juliet, I love you so much, and I can die for you." He made flimsy promises to impress me, but I remained calm at the end.

I walked up to him while awkwardly touching my open breast cleavage; his eyes were fixed on my fair skin breast as I got closer to him.

His face was plastered with a soothing smile, although I lingered in front of him, and then I spoke.

"Let me sign the contract now." I said it, and he was so pleased to hear it coming from my mouth.

I showed instead of telling him; he felt the voluntary submission from my side, and he didn't notice the deception in my voice and actions.

He gently stepped away from the door, which was only closed and not locked with a key; his face was glued with a cool smile.

"That's my Juliet, alright. Let me get the contract in my drawer." He said as he walks, "I promise that when you sign the marriage contract, I'll make the necessary arrangements for your mother's surgery ASAP." He spoke sternly with his voice barely above a whisper.

Immediately he completely stepped away from the door and back to his seat; I stormed out of the office and slammed the door so hard.

Before he could think of catching me I was long gone from his office; I left with no hope of where to get $22.5 million for my mother's surgery and treatments.

As I walked towards the company's gate, my mind reeled on what next to do to save my mother from her daily pains. I still find it difficult to forget the day Doctor Sam diagnosed and told us she had KIDNEY FAILURE; I nearly fell to the ground.

"Oh my God, what should I do?" She asked herself. "I've spent my entire savings on her treatment, yet she's still in pain." I said to myself with tears welling around the corner.

I reminisced on the pain my mother was experiencing, "How I wish I could help her carry the weight; she's weak and suffering, God." I muttered inwardly, with my eyes widened in tears.

When I visited her, her eyes were pale from the sleepless night she'd been having, and her feet were swollen like a pregnant woman. Her whole body has fallen apart.

"She's lean, God!" I exclaimed, "Please don't forsake me and my mother at this tough time." I whispered to myself, with tears streaming down my eyes.

I stood at the road for a few minutes, waving at almost all the cabs that passed by, but none of them stopped, until after 20 minutes, when I finally stopped one cab. "Please, take me to Monument Bank," I said to the driver, who in turn unlocked the car door, and I entered. Before I could even settle in, he turned his back to me.

"Your trip payment is $100 in cash, please." He sounded serious, and I checked my pulse; all I could gather was $57.

"Please, sir, I only have $57 with me, and I really need to get to the bank now, before it's too late." I pleaded in a low tone; he seems to understand what I was going through, but he claimed the cab belongs to someone, and he has a target to deliver to his boss.

"I can't, ma'am, I'm so sorry; my target must be completed before noon." He explains in detail for me.

And I had no choice but to step down from his car; I had nobody to call for financial assistance, talk less of someone that can come to my rescue.

Sarah, my best friend, who's the only one that could help, had traveled to Texas on a business trip, and she wouldn't be coming back anytime soon.

And if I don't get to the bank on time, I might not be granted the LOAN for my mother's surgery. "What should I do?"

I sat in the gray, airless room of the New York State Department of Corrections, my knuckles white as the Warden delivered the news. "Parole denied." My father, Howard Sterling, had forged new evidence of financial crimes to keep me behind bars. He walked into the room, smelling of expensive cologne, and tossed a black folder onto the steel table. It was a marriage contract for Lucas Kensington, a billionaire currently lying in a vegetative state in the ICU. "Sign it. You walk out today." I laughed at the idea of being sold to a "corpse" until Howard slid a grainy photo toward me. It showed a toddler with a crescent-moon birthmark—the son Howard told me had died in an incubator five years ago. He smiled and told me the boy's safety depended entirely on my cooperation. I was thrust into the Kensington estate, where the family treated me like a "drowned rat." They dressed me in mothball-scented rags and mocked my status, unaware that I was monitoring their every move. I watched the cousin, Julian, openly waiting for Lucas to die to inherit the empire, while the doctors prepared to sign the death certificate. I didn't understand why my father would lie about my son’s death for years, or what kind of monsters would use a child as a bargaining chip. The injustice of it burned in my chest as I realized I was just a pawn in a game of old money and blood. As the monitors began to flatline and the family started to celebrate their inheritance, I locked the door and reached into the hem of my dress. I pulled out the sharpened silver wires I’d fashioned in the prison workshop. They thought they bought a submissive convict, but they actually invited "The Saint"—the world’s most dangerous underground surgeon—into their home. "Wake up, Lucas. You owe me a life." I wasn't there to be a bride; I was there to wake the dead and burn their empire to the ground.

I was at my own engagement party at the Sterling estate when the world started tilting. Victoria Sterling, my future mother-in-law, smiled coldly as she watched me struggle with a cup of tea that had been drugged to ruin me. Before I could find my fiancé, Ryan, a waiter dragged me into the forbidden West Wing and locked me in a room with Julian Sterling, the family’s "fallen titan" who had been confined to a wheelchair for years. The door burst open to a frenzy of camera flashes and theatrical screams. Victoria framed me as a seductress caught in the act, and Ryan didn't even try to listen to my pleas, calling me "cheap leftovers" before walking away with his pregnant mistress. When I turned to my own family for help, my father signed a document severing our relationship for a five-million-dollar payout from Julian. They traded me like a commodity without a second thought. I didn't understand why my own parents were so eager to sell me, or how Ryan could look at me with such disgust after promising me forever. I was a sacrifice, a pawn used to protect the family's offshore accounts, and I couldn't fathom how every person I loved had a price tag for my destruction. With nowhere left to go, I married Julian in a bleak ceremony at City Hall. He slid a heavy diamond onto my finger and whispered, "We have a war to start." That night, inside his secret penthouse, I watched the paralyzed man stand up from his wheelchair and activate a screen filled with the Sterling family's darkest secrets. The execution had officially begun.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.
