Love can be beautiful. Love can be deadly. And ours? It was always destined to ruin us. She was my everything-my obsession, my addiction, the only thing that made sense in a world drenched in blood and secrets. I worshiped her, touched her like she was sacred, loved her like she was my salvation. But devotion is a dangerous thing. Because while I gave her my heart, she gave me lies. While I craved only her, she hungered for something else. Betrayal. Deception. Secrets darker than the night. I should have walked away. I should have saved myself. But I was already lost. And in the end, love wasn't my redemption. It was my downfall.

Chapter 1 Crimson Desire

The city pulsed with life beneath the neon glow, but all that mattered was her.

She was intoxicating-wild laughter spilling from her lips like the finest wine, eyes gleaming under the club lights. Her touch lingered, soft yet possessive, as if she had already claimed me. And maybe she had.

"Stay with me tonight," she whispered, her breath warm against my neck.

I should have hesitated. I should have questioned the hunger in her voice, the way her fingers trembled slightly as they traced my wrist. But I was already hers.

Her lips crashed against mine, demanding, desperate. A spark of something dark flickered in her gaze, something more than desire-something deeper.

I didn't know then that love could be a curse.

Her lips crashed against mine, demanding, desperate. A spark of something dark flickered in her gaze, something more than desire-something deeper.

I didn't know then that love could be a curse.

The room was dimly lit, the scent of wine and perfume hanging heavy in the air. The moment we stepped inside, she pressed me against the door, her body molding against mine.

"You drive me crazy," she murmured, dragging her lips down my throat, making me shiver.

I tilted my head, giving her access, craving her touch. She was fire and silk, her hands moving over me with an urgency that set my blood ablaze. When her lips brushed the pulse at my neck, I swore I felt her hesitate-just for a moment.

Then, she bit me.

It wasn't painful, but a sharp, intoxicating pleasure that shot through me like lightning. My breath hitched as she pulled away, lips stained crimson.

My heart pounded. "What was that?"

She wiped the blood from her mouth, eyes locking onto mine with an unreadable expression. Then, she smiled, slow and wicked.

"You taste sweet."

Something inside me knew-this wasn't just love. It was something darker, something deeper.

And I was falling, helplessly, into it.

Her words sent a shiver down my spine. You taste sweet.

I should have been afraid. Maybe a part of me was. But fear tangled with something far more dangerous-desire.

She didn't give me time to think.

Her lips found mine again, softer this time, teasing, coaxing me deeper into her. I melted against her, my hands threading through her dark, silken hair as she pushed me back toward the bed.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted this," she whispered, her voice dripping with hunger.

I barely had time to respond before she was on top of me, pinning me beneath her. The weight of her body, the heat of her breath-it was overwhelming, consuming. My pulse thrummed wildly as she ran her fingers down my collarbone, tracing my skin as if memorizing every inch.

"You're mine," she murmured against my throat, her teeth grazing over the same spot she had bitten before. It sent a pulse of pleasure straight through me, making me arch into her touch.

A moan slipped past my lips, and she growled in response, the sound vibrating against my skin.

Her hands wandered lower, slipping beneath the fabric of my dress, her fingers tracing slow, burning circles along my thighs. She was teasing me, torturing me, drawing me deeper into the haze of want that surrounded us.

"Tell me you want this," she whispered.

My breath was ragged, my mind clouded with need. "I want you."

That was all she needed.

Clothes disappeared between kisses, hands exploring, bodies tangling in heated desperation. She worshiped me with her touch, her lips trailing fire down my skin, her name spilling from my lips like a prayer.

And when she finally took me, I swore I saw stars.

Time blurred, lost between breathless gasps and whispered promises. She held me close, her fingers laced with mine, her body pressing into me as if she never wanted to let go.

I believed her.

I didn't know then that love could be a beautiful lie.

Her hands roamed my body like she was claiming me, fingers tracing fire along my skin, lips marking every inch she touched. I was drowning in her-her scent, her warmth, the way she whispered my name like a promise.

She kissed me deeply, her tongue teasing mine, drawing me deeper into her hunger. Every touch, every breath between us was electric. My back arched as her hands slipped lower, her nails dragging lightly against my bare skin, sending a delicious shiver through me.

I gasped when her lips traveled lower, worshiping me with slow, deliberate kisses. She took her time, her mouth exploring, teasing, tasting, driving me to the edge of madness. My fingers tangled in her hair, pulling her closer as pleasure bloomed in waves, my body trembling beneath her touch.

She didn't stop.

She wanted me undone, desperate, lost in her. She wanted me to beg.

And I did.

Her name fell from my lips like a whispered plea, my body arching into her, aching for more. She smiled against my skin, a wicked, knowing smile, before giving me exactly what I craved.

Pleasure crashed over me like a storm, sharp and intoxicating, leaving me breathless and shaking in her arms.

She held me close, her fingers stroking my skin, soothing, possessive. "You're mine," she murmured again, her lips pressing against my temple.

Something in her voice sent a shiver down my spine.

I turned to face her, my heart still pounding. "Promise me this isn't just a dream."

She brushed a strand of hair from my face, her gaze dark, unreadable. "It's real," she whispered.

I wanted to believe her.

But I didn't know then how easily love could turn into obsession.

She didn't let go of me. Even as my body trembled beneath hers, even as I struggled to catch my breath, she held me as if I might disappear.

But she wasn't done.

Her lips trailed up my neck, her breath hot against my skin. "I need more," she murmured, voice thick with hunger.

I shivered. "I thought you had me already."

Her dark, sultry laugh sent a thrill through me. "Not enough."

She flipped me onto my back, her body pressing down, keeping me pinned beneath her. She kissed me slowly this time, savoring the way I melted under her touch. My nails dragged down her spine, and she gasped, pressing her hips against mine in a slow, deliberate roll that made my breath hitch.

"I love the way you

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."
