The world seems to stop moving around her. Her thoughts went blank. Her eyes widened in surprise. Has she heard what her Boss, Jay Henryson said? A man feared by the whole of New York City? A man whose stares send death chills down the spines? A man whose presence makes hearts pound in their chests? How on earth is she supposed to act as a wife to such a man? Her mind swayed back to her dying mother lying on her hospital bed. Tears flowed freely down her eyes as she looked at the documents right in front of her. Will Avery be able to sign the documents and act as the CEO's wife while he saves her mother Or her mother would be left to her fate?

Married To The Ceo Chapter 1 A Marriage Contract!

"Are you signing or not?" The deep voice of her CEO brought her out of her thoughts. She only came here to ask for financial aid to foot her mother's medical expenses. Jay Henryson offered to help her but on a condition!

"How do you expect me to sign this marriage contract? You are my boss for Christ's sake." She burst out

"You will be doing us a favor by consenting to this. My parents have been on my neck for so long to get married. I just can't take it anymore. You can help me out while I take care of your mom's statements."

He said with a cold stare.

He has been her boss for two years and has always held a reputation for being cold and very stern. She only managed to survive under him as an employee just because of her mother's medical plight which demands a lot of cash. And here she is, about to act as a wife to someone of his caliber till God knows when.

With tears in her eyes, she signed the papers lying in front of her. She reached out for her bag and started walking towards the door.

"I will see you later, "Jay added. She reached for the doorknob without looking back at him. Her beeping ringtone brought her back to life.

She dug her hand deep into her bag to fetch her phone.

"Hello, Miss Avery, your presence is needed at the hospital right now!"

Avery's heart started beating so fast. What happened to her mom? She turned slowly to Jay with teary eyes.

"Mom..." the rest of the words got buried down her throat as she rushed out yelling for a taxi.

"Roman View General Hospital. Please drive very fast. It's an emergency!." She yelled at the driver before flinging the car door. As she sat down, she could do nothing but pray for her mother's safety.

Upon reaching the hospital, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure having a conversation with a group of medical practitioners. Her heart skipped a bit.

Avery walked toward them. As she got closer, she stopped in her tracks. Her instinct has never been wrong. It was none other than the devil himself, Jay Henryson.

As soon as the Doctors saw her, one called out to her.

"Miss Avery, what kept you this long? Your mother's case was an emergency."

"I'm sorry for coming late. I was caught up in traffic and my chauffeur didn't help matters." She managed to say with her gaze still on Jay

"Well, you know your mother's condition and we all are trying our best to adhere to her treatment. Luckily, your husband got here in time to cover her expenses and made an appointment for her to be flown to the best medical center in New York City for treatment," he added.

Jay could see the shock written on Avery's face and a very satisfying cold smirk broke down the corners of his lips.

As she stood there pondering, a baritone voice brought her back to her connotations. "Go meet your mom," he said coldly as ever and walked away. Avery watched him with a surprise written all over her face.

She opened the door to her mother's ward.

Slowly she walked in and sat by her mother.

"He came to tell me everything and I can assure you that he is a good man. Just go and be with him. I'll be alright " She added, patting her daughter's hair.

"Mom, This is too much for me to bear!" With this, she burst into tears.

Mrs. Tate's eyes welled with tears at the sight of her daughter's breakdown. She reached out for her hands and positioned them on her chest. Avery isn't ready to spend her life with Jay but she is willing to sacrifice everything for her mother to live. She looked at Her mom and nodded.

She left the hospital premises to prepare for the new home that awaits her. A home full of unfamiliar faces and events. How is she going to cope alone?

As she got home to unpack, a black luxurious car pulled up in front of her house and out stepped a silhouette figure. "Jay!?"

What on earth is this Man doing here? Just then he entered the room.

"Hi beautiful!" he said with a wink. He is not just the reserved guy that everyone knows but also a professional seducer. She thought to herself as she rolled her eyes over.

"Hi," She snapped back

He motioned to one guard to pick up her suitcase.

He turned his head towards her and without warning, planted a kiss on her lips. Avery went stiff the next instant. Before she could feel her palms, she had already landed a slap on his face!

His fists clenched in anger, his body on the verge of exploding, a visible scowl broke out on his forehead and his eyes radiated fire. Avery knew she had crossed the line this time. She closed her eyes and awaited her doom.

She felt a hand picking her up and throwing her over his shoulders. She opened her eyes and saw she was being carried by Jay. But this time, she did not protest. He hurdled her into the car and sat beside her staring through the windows as he lit his cigarette. Neither of them spoke throughout the journey to his place.

Avery felt petrified.

He dragged her out of the car when they arrived at his mansion and carried her upstairs, straight to a vast bedroom, threw her on the bed, and started unbuttoning his shirt.

"Wh..at..what...are you trying to do Jay?" She managed to ask in a trembling voice.

"A reminder not to ever raise your hands on me again!" He retorted. He jumped on her amidst her cry for plea Smooching her so aggressively that she could hardly breathe. He pinned her hands above her head. When Avery looked into his face, the sparks of fire that ignited from them were too horrifying for her to behold. Each whiff from him was so fierce that she could feel an immense desire flickering through his whole body. He pinned his weight down on her slender body and kissed her so fiercely but passionately, making his path along her earlobes. His beautiful long fingers, shook as he gently felt her soft breasts. He nipped them so tightly that Avery gasped in pain. A soft moan broke out from his lips.

He made his way down to her " Don't do this to me, Jay"

Avery prayed with eyes plugged with remorse. Just then, the bedroom door hurled open.

Jay turned snappily towards the door with gazes firing blood. His eye fell on the househelp. She quickly averted her eyes from his fierce look.

"Pardon me, sir, I didn't figure out you got back." She managed to find her voice and without reluctance, quickly left the room.

"Get up and get dressed " he murmured to her before stepping into the bathroom.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.
