Under My Deceitful Wife's Spell Chapter 1 You Still Remember I'm Your Husband

In Camont, the surface of the pool at Glory Hot Springs was scattered with soft rose petals, gently brushing against Lena Evans' skin with a gentle touch. Her form was elegant, every curve exuding a rare, captivating charm.

A faint mist veiled her gaze, casting an ethereal glow on her features-a mix of fragility and quiet strength.

She was an illegitimate daughter, raised by her mother alongside her younger brother, relying on each other to endure life's hardships.

A week prior, her father's family unexpectedly summoned her with a startling demand: she was to take the place of her father's other daughter, Alana Evans, and fulfill a marital obligation to Dylan Harvey, the CEO of the Harvey Group.

The union between Dylan and Alana had always been a calculated business arrangement. With no emotional attachment to his bride, Dylan left the country immediately after their wedding, staying away for three years.

Now, under mounting pressure from his family, he had returned-ordered to solidify the union by consummating the marriage.

The Evanses offered Lena a grim deal: if she replaced Alana that night and spent it with Dylan, they would release her mother and brother, even providing treatment for her brother's chronic illness.

Lena knew the immense power of the Evans family. They could crush her and her loved ones easily.

Her striking resemblance to Alana was the only reason they considered her for this charade.

While their faces and voices resembled each other, their figures showed subtle differences.

Though Dylan had never been physically close to Alana, the Evanses hoped to avoid discovery and

orchestrated the meeting at the secluded hot springs.

"Mr. Harvey will arrive soon. You know what's expected of you-be careful with what you say and play your part!" an older woman hissed behind Lena, her tone sharp. Some of the staff had been bribed, ensuring that few were aware of the deceit.

Lena nodded quietly. "I understand."

For the past week, she had studied every detail about Dylan until his profile was etched in her mind.

On the edge of the spring, Alana crouched, glaring. Despite their likeness, their personalities were polar opposites.

Through gritted teeth, Alana snarled, "Don't forget your place. Even if you end up in my husband's bed, you're just a substitute, a mere bastard!"

Dylan was her husband, the one she'd waited three long years to see again.

This night should have been hers alone. But Dylan's family had demanded the bride must be a virgin, leaving her no choice but to involve Lena.

Lena lowered her head, suppressing the sting of tears. "Release my mother and brother tomorrow morning."

"I will. They mean nothing to me," Alana sneered, waving dismissively. "Just make sure you do your part." She then gestured to the older woman and said firmly, "Keep a close watch on her."

At that moment, the woman whispered urgently, "Mr. Harvey has arrived."

Hearing this, Alana quickly retreated to a hidden corner.

Lena steadied herself, inhaling deeply. Moments later, a servant led a tall man, clad in a loose bathrobe, into the room. His steps were slightly unsteady, a result of alcohol.

"Mr. Harvey, you and your wife can relax in the spring. We'll leave you to it."

With that, the servant departed swiftly.

Dylan's gaze swept over the woman in the spring. Her presence was alluring-soft, quiet, and inexplicably mesmerizing.

She wore a seductive swimsuit, the straps on her shoulders seemingly ready to snap with a tug.

Strangely, earlier that day, he had felt a vague dislike for Alana. Yet, this version of her seemed different. Softer. Warmer. Intriguingly irresistible.

As he took a step back, Lena reached for his bathrobe, desperation flickering in her eyes.

She couldn't afford for him to leave-her beloved ones' fate depended on her.

He mistook her urgency for fear of being abandoned again.

Her voice wavered as she whispered, "Don't you want me, darling?"

The delicate plea sent a shiver down his spine.

The next second, Lena rose from the water, clinging to him, her trembling fingers brushing his leg.

Overcome with desire, Dylan brushed her hand away and entered the hot spring.

After all, they were already married, and it was time to consummate their marriage.

"So, you still remember I'm your husband?" Dylan murmured, his voice hoarse.

"Yes, I..."

Lena's response was cut short as he gripped her chin, pulling her into a deep, fervent kiss.

Lena tensed at the unfamiliar intimacy, but his hands left her no room to pull away.

The faint scent of alcohol lingered on his lips.

She didn't dare close her eyes, watching his long lashes flutter, lending his chiseled features a strikingly sensual aura.

He looked every bit the man described in her file-his deep-set eyes unreadable, his sharp jawline carved with perfection.

The straps of her swimsuit slipped under his touch as his kisses wandered, leaving a fiery trail over her skin.

The dim lighting and steam from the spring wrapped the moment in an air of enchantment.

As ripples danced across the water, Lena surrendered, her arms encircling his neck. In the warmth of the spring, the night unfolded in a whirlwind of passion and vulnerability.

I was finally brought back to the billionaire Vance estate after years in the grimy foster system, but the luxury Lincoln felt more like a funeral procession. My biological family didn't welcome me with open arms; they looked at me like a stain on a silk shirt. They thought I was a "defective" mute with cognitive delays, a spare part to be traded away. Within hours of my arrival, my father decided to sell me to Julian Thorne, a bitter, paralyzed heir, just to secure a corporate merger. My sister Tiffany treated me like trash, whispering for me to "go back to the gutter" before pouring red wine over my dress in front of Manhattan's elite. When a drunk cousin tried to lay hands on me at the engagement gala, my grandmother didn't protect me-she raised her silver-topped cane to strike my face for "embarrassing the family." They called me a sacrificial lamb, laughing as they signed the prenuptial agreement that stripped me of my freedom. They had no idea I was E-11, the underground hacker-artist the world was obsessed with, or that I had already breached their private servers. I found the hidden medical records-blood types A, A, and B-a biological impossibility that proved my "parents" were harboring a scandal that could ruin them. Why bring me back just to discard me again? And why was Julian Thorne, the man supposedly bound to a wheelchair, secretly running miles at dawn on his private estate? Standing in the middle of the ballroom, I didn't plead for mercy. I used a text-to-speech app to broadcast a cold, synthetic threat: "I have the records, Richard. Do you want me to explain genetics to the press, or should we leave quietly?" With the "paralyzed" billionaire as my unexpected accomplice, I walked out of the Vance house and into a much more dangerous game.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

I sat in the gray, airless room of the New York State Department of Corrections, my knuckles white as the Warden delivered the news. "Parole denied." My father, Howard Sterling, had forged new evidence of financial crimes to keep me behind bars. He walked into the room, smelling of expensive cologne, and tossed a black folder onto the steel table. It was a marriage contract for Lucas Kensington, a billionaire currently lying in a vegetative state in the ICU. "Sign it. You walk out today." I laughed at the idea of being sold to a "corpse" until Howard slid a grainy photo toward me. It showed a toddler with a crescent-moon birthmark—the son Howard told me had died in an incubator five years ago. He smiled and told me the boy's safety depended entirely on my cooperation. I was thrust into the Kensington estate, where the family treated me like a "drowned rat." They dressed me in mothball-scented rags and mocked my status, unaware that I was monitoring their every move. I watched the cousin, Julian, openly waiting for Lucas to die to inherit the empire, while the doctors prepared to sign the death certificate. I didn't understand why my father would lie about my son’s death for years, or what kind of monsters would use a child as a bargaining chip. The injustice of it burned in my chest as I realized I was just a pawn in a game of old money and blood. As the monitors began to flatline and the family started to celebrate their inheritance, I locked the door and reached into the hem of my dress. I pulled out the sharpened silver wires I’d fashioned in the prison workshop. They thought they bought a submissive convict, but they actually invited "The Saint"—the world’s most dangerous underground surgeon—into their home. "Wake up, Lucas. You owe me a life." I wasn't there to be a bride; I was there to wake the dead and burn their empire to the ground.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
