Here is the translation of the text into English: "On the third day after my death, my boyfriend knelt in the rain before my grave and couldn't get up. Everyone says that he loved me deeply and is a rare romantic. But they don't know that at the moment I died, he was holding his little sweetheart with a pained expression on his face."

Chapter 1

The company organized a team-building rafting trip, and I ended up in the same boat as my boyfriend Brett Douglas's childhood friend, Lisa Snow.

At first, everything was going smoothly.

It wasn't until we reached a steep slope with a significant drop that the boat suddenly capsized.

The reason for the capsize was Lisa's insistence on leaning out to pick an unknown purple flower growing on the rocky cliff, despite my warnings.

Just as we were about to descend the slope, the boat lost its balance.

After falling into the water, both of us were trapped under the boat.

Relying on my experience, I instinctively tried to push the boat away.

Otherwise, we would either drown or suffocate.

However, Lisa, out of fear, clung tightly to the boat's handle and refused to let go.

I had no choice but to reach out, trying to calm her down.

But she clung to me like a lifeline, wrapping her arms tightly around my neck.

A strong sense of suffocation overwhelmed me, and I could feel my breathing becoming increasingly difficult. Something seemed to hit the back of my neck, but the suffocation made me momentarily forget the pain.

Driven by the instinct to survive, I struggled to free myself from Lisa's grip. Unfortunately, she clung to me like an octopus, using both her hands and feet to latch onto me, making it impossible for me to break free.

Fortunately, at that moment, Brett arrived just in time. Without hesitation, he jumped into the rapids and, with great effort, pulled both of us onto a rock closer to the shore.

I lay there, gasping for air, while Lisa lay motionless on the rock.

Anyone who saw us would assume she was in worse condition.

So, naturally, Brett picked her up first.

"Tina, Lisa's not doing well. I'll take her first. Don't worry, the rescue team will be here soon!"

Hearing this, I panicked.

"Brett, my head is spinning. Please, don't leave me... "

I pleaded softly, clutching the collar of his shirt at the back of his neck.

But the next second, Brett shook me off without hesitation.

"Tina, stop it! Lisa can't swim. Didn't you see how pale she is? Can you be a bit more reasonable this time?"

With that, he carried Lisa away without looking back.

As I watched his figure disappearing into the distance without pausing at all, I gave a bitter laugh. Meanwhile, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed another wave rushing towards me and hitting me forcefully.

Exhausted and drained of energy, I was swept into the water by the current, drifting further and further away until I crashed into a rock and lost consciousness forever.

I didn't know where my body ended up, but my soul followed Brett to the hospital.

Lisa had some scrapes and a broken right arm, requiring a week's stay in the hospital.

Inside the hospital room, Lisa, who had already regained consciousness, was lying in Brett's arms, weeping as she gazed at her arm which was encased in a cast.

"It was so scary. I told Tina not to move, but she didn't listen, and that's when the boat lost balance and capsized... "

Brett patted her back, comforting her softly.

"It's okay now, don't be afraid. I'll have Tina Davies apologize to you later. She really went too far today."

I leaned against the wall, unable to help but laugh.

This is the difference between Lisa and me. No matter what she said, Brett believed her completely.

I always thought that after being together for so many years, he understood me.

He should know that with my calm nature, I would never do something so reckless.

But in the end, I meant nothing to him.

Unfortunately, the apology he wanted, I could no longer give.

Even if I were still alive, I would never apologize to Lisa because she doesn't deserve it.

The next moment, Lisa suddenly lifted her head, her eyes red, and asked Brett, "Brett, will my hand ever fully recover?"

Brett shook his head. "Of course it will. Didn't the doctor say the fracture isn't too serious?"

Lisa still seemed worried. "But will it leave a scar?"

The thought of this possibility made her cry even more.

"I don't have a boyfriend yet. If I have a scar, how will I get married in the future? Brett, you have to look after me!"

"Alright, alright, since it was because of Tina, I'll take responsibility for you, " Brett said, soothing her gently until Lisa finally calmed down.

I stood there watching silently, feeling like an outsider watching someone else's happy ending.

Clearly, I was Brett's official girlfriend, yet he never comforted me like this.

Suddenly, I wanted to rush over and ask Brett what I meant to him.
