Moonlit Bonds follows Selena Hart, a young woman with an innate connection to nature who leads a quiet life in a small town surrounded by ancient woods. Her peaceful existence is disrupted when she meets Gabriel Thorn, a brooding, mysterious man who seems to be more than he appears. Unbeknownst to Selena, Gabriel is the Alpha of a powerful werewolf pack that has lived in secret for generations, bound to the supernatural forces of the land. As Selena becomes drawn to Gabriel, the two share a deep, inexplicable bond. The town, shrouded in old legends and secrets, seems to hold the key to understanding their connection. Gabriel, struggling with the responsibilities of his position as Alpha, is torn between his duty to the pack and the growing feelings he has for Selena, a human whose connection to nature may hold the answers to his most pressing questions. As Selena delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding Gabriel and the pack, she learns that their bond is far stronger and more ancient than either of them could have imagined. The town's legends speak of an ancient prophecy that binds humans and werewolves in a delicate balance, one that has the power to change both their worlds forever. But as dark forces rise against them-both from within the pack and from external threats-Selena and Gabriel must navigate a web of betrayal, loyalty, and danger. Their bond will be tested, forcing them to confront their deepest fears and desires. The fate of the pack, the town, and their own lives are all intertwined in a tale of love, sacrifice, and the supernatural as they face the terrifying truth about their connection beneath the light of the full moon.

Whispers of the Moon Chapter 1 The Wolf's Call

The moon hung low over the sprawling pines of Silverpine, its light painting the forest in shades of silver and shadow. Selena Hart sat on the windowsill of her tiny cabin on the edge of town, staring out at the dark woods. Her heart had been uneasy for weeks, plagued by dreams she couldn't explain. The kind of dreams that left her breathless and questioning reality.

In them, she wasn't just running-she was being hunted. Golden eyes glowed in the dark, a shadowy wolf trailing her every move. Yet, she never felt afraid. Instead, a strange comfort filled her, as if she knew the predator wouldn't harm her. Tonight, though, the feeling was different. Urgent. As if the dream had crossed the boundary of sleep and entered her waking life.

The air outside was crisp and carried the scent of pine and earth. Selena wrapped her shawl tightly around her shoulders and stepped out. The gravel path leading into the woods glimmered faintly under the moonlight, beckoning her forward.

She didn't tell anyone about her midnight walks. Not Lily, her best friend who would scold her for venturing alone, or Mrs Calloway, her nosy neighbour who loved gossiping about Selena's solitary habits. Tonight, though, the pull was stronger than her caution. She had to know what was calling her.

The forest was alive with sounds-the rustle of leaves, the chirp of crickets, the occasional hoot of an owl. But as she ventured deeper, the noises faded, replaced by an eerie silence. Selena paused, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. That's when she saw him.

A man stood in the clearing, his back to her, tall and broad-shouldered with a presence that seemed to command the air around him. The moonlight caught in his dark hair, and his stance was tense as if he were listening for something. Selena's foot snapped a twig, and the sound echoed like a gunshot in the quiet.

He turned.

Selena's breath hitched. His face was angular, his features sharp and striking, but his eyes held her captive-a piercing amber that seemed to glow faintly in the dark. He looked at her as if he'd known her forever, but there was something dangerous in his gaze, something that made her want to run and stay at the same time.

"You shouldn't be here," he said, his voice deep and edged with warning.

"Neither should you," Selena shot back, though her voice wavered slightly. She tried to sound confident, but the truth was, she wasn't sure why she was there at all.

The man's lips twitched, almost forming a smile, but the tension in his posture didn't ease. "Go home. The woods aren't safe at night."

Selena crossed her arms. "I've lived here my whole life. I think I'd know if there was something to be afraid of."

Before he could respond, a low, haunting howl echoed through the trees. Selena froze, her blood turning cold. It wasn't like the howls she'd heard in her dreams. This one was real, and it sounded close.

The man stepped toward her, his movements fluid and almost predatory. "Go. Now."

"What about you?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

He hesitated, his jaw tightening. "I'll be fine."

Another howl rang out, this time closer. Selena didn't need any more convincing. She turned and hurried back down the path, glancing over her shoulder once. The man was gone, as if he'd vanished into the shadows.

Back at her cabin, Selena locked the door and leaned against it, her heart racing. Who was he? And why did she feel like her life had just shifted in a way she couldn't understand?

She climbed into bed, her mind spinning with questions. But as her eyes closed, the dreams came again. This time, they were sharper, more vivid. The wolf with golden eyes stood before her, but its form shifted, melting into the man from the woods. His amber gaze bore into hers, and she felt an undeniable connection, like a thread pulling them together.

When she woke, the sun was rising, and the dream was already fading. But one thing was clear: her life in Silverpine was no longer the quiet, uneventful existence she'd known. Something was coming. And it had everything to do with the man in the woods.

Selena didn't know whether to be afraid or exhilarated. Perhaps both.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
