Diana's life was a perfect storm of tragedy. She lost her family in a heart-wrenching accident, her boyfriend betrayed her in the worst possible way and a one-night stand with a stranger left her pregnant and alone. The stranger, a man she thought might be her salvation, turned his back on her and their unborn child. With nothing left to lose, Diana embarked on a journey of revenge and self-discovery. She vowed to make those who wronged her pay, but first, she had to survive. No job, no family, no friends - just a fierce determination to rise from the ashes. Will she find a way to overcome the odds and build a new life? Or will the weight of her past crush her forever?
Diana's POV
"Alex, don't tell me you are leaving me after all we have been together, you are joking right?" I asked him to search through his eyes but he took them off.
"Listen, Diana, I said it over just move on with your life, let me be! I am not here to encounter words with you, all I can here is to announce that to you so you will have it in mind" he said as he made to leave but I grabbed him back my eyes piercing into his as I searched if the emotions we share are still there but unfortunately have cleared.
"Let go of my dress!" He slapped my hand off of him as he walked out.
I couldn't control my pulse rate and I pinned my pale skin to know if I was dreaming but I just realized I was awake.
"No!! Alex can't do this to me, not after all this struggle" I cried out the more it was driving me crazy that I felt I couldn't hold up any longer.
All my life savings, work, and shares I have invested in Alex and now he wants to enjoy them with another lady?
With a step out of the house, I board a taxi taking me off from there as I just needed to clear my head off from it.
My head kept spinning as I looked at my whiskey glass. A smile of regret flashed across my face as I swirled the glass, making the liquid move from one side to another. I still can't believe it, even in my drunk state... Alex dumped me! After everything we've been through, he just abandoned me for no reason at all.
Remembering the last text he sent made me crumble over and over again. I picked up my phone and went to my inbox, and there was the message staring right back at me:
Hey Diana, just a heads up, I'm with someone else now and I'm happy with her. I hope you find someone else too
A tear escaped my ears as I let out a hysterical laugh
"Alex you're joking right?" I laughed not minding the stares I was receiving from people around me. Why should I bother about their stares when I'm broken?
I gulped down the content of the glass with the alcohol burning my throat as it went down slowly
"Don't you think that's too much for a girl?" I heard a voice from behind me and I turned to see a guy standing there.
His green eyes locked with mine and it felt like he was staring into my soul as if trying to search for my faults...who the hell is he?
I shook my head nonchalantly, turned to the bartender, and ordered another glass
"You wouldn't take that in one gulp that too..." Before he could finish his sentence, I'd already gulped down the drink, he was forced to take in his breath sharply as he stared at me in horror
"You were saying?" I finally turned to him, smiling like a maniac...how dare a stranger like him look down on my alcohol skills?
"You're something else girl..." he stared unbelievably as he climbed on the stool beside me
"A kid like you shouldn't challenge my alcohol skills," I said and he laughed. He also ordered a cocktail and in no time we started chatting like we'd known each other for a long time.
I got to know his name, Stephen and we also got into a drinking competition...more like I challenged him. Soon, he was drunk just like I was before he came in
"You're worse than I thought" I laughed as he gulped down the remaining content of his glass
"You led me to it..." we both giggled.
"Baby!" I heard Alex call from behind me and I quickly turned to see another guy with his girl being all lovey-dovey. The guy sounded a lot like Alex and once more when I thought I'd forgotten about Alex, I was forced to remember him.
"What's wrong? You suddenly became sad" Stephen asked
"It's my boyfriend, Alex" he nodded at me to continue
"He just disappeared, today was supposed to be our seventh anniversary but he suddenly disappeared... leaving me with only a text message" Stephen shook his head. Though I was drunk the pity on his face was clear and undeniable
"Did you do something to spite him?" I shook my head in reply
"I don't even know, he never said anything was wrong between us. We even had a wonderful night before he disappeared, I really don't understand why he would dump me after all we went through together" I lamented. The next thing I felt was his arms on my shoulders
"I understand how you feel..." his head dropped like he just remembered something he'd been trying to forget
"You understand?"
"Yes...My girlfriend, more like my fiancee disappeared all of a sudden..."
"For real?!" I sat upright seeing that he and I were going through the same problem
"Yes...we've dated for nearly six years now, I never knew she was only after my money. Just yesterday, I noticed my account was being messed with and then after, I realized she's been stealing from me" I could see tears fall from his eyes and I couldn't even control mine as I let them fall freely
"What pains the most is not the fact that she stole from me but the fact that she led me on for six years while I loved her with all my heart"
"Oh no...my poor baby" we both began crying loudly as we hugged each other trying to console ourselves. Our wailings were becoming too loud and we started receiving bombastic side eyes from people around us.
With his hand grabbing my waist as we elude into a room.
All I wanted was to be stripped and fuck till I beg for a stop.
We took another turn of kiss as he held me down to the bed. I love the emotions I was getting that I didn't know when I said.
"Fuck me harder MR. Stephen, until I beg for a stop" I said, waiting impatiently for him to insert in me.
The best sex of drunkness! That was all I wanted.
