The Billionaire's Unexpected Heir Chapter 1 CRUEL REALITY

3 cm invasive tumor in situ... Stage 3... Metastasis is present...

Kendall's hands trembled as she read her test result. She swallowed thick lumps of saliva that were about to choke her.

"Wh- what does... this mean, doctor?"

Her voice was trembling so was her whole body, coupled with her labored breathing. Even though she knew what it meant, she rather lived in denial.

"Miss Kendall," Doctor Sophia took off her glasses and focused on the patient in front of her.

"You have stage three cervical cancer." She dropped the heartbreaking news.

"No... I don't... doctor, this is not my result." Tears rolled down Kendall's cheeks as she kept on arguing. There was no way that she would accept this result as hers.

She only had pain and heavy bleeding... And a few minor symptoms. She was sure that there was a mix-up somewhere. There had to be.

"I can't have cancer," Kendall heaved a sigh. It felt like her whole world was crumbling before her and she was too weak to put the smallest pieces together.

"How?" She stuttered. "I'm not married, I don't even have kids." "How can I have cancer?"

"If you will, we can go over some fertility options." Doctor Sophia used a calm approach. She had seen tons of patients break down before her.

"There's room for in-vitro fertilization before the surgery, but that has to be done as soon as possible because you need immediate intervention..."

Kendall didn't wait for Doctor Sophia to be done before she stormed out of her office in tears. She didn't know where exactly she was going, but she kept running, her vision was clouded by tears.

She flagged down a taxi and heaped herself on the back seat, wiping her eyes and snorting in between.

"Where to?" The driver asked, looking at her through the front mirror, but didn't say a word, not wanting to invade her privacy.

"Anywhere," Kendall hissed through her gritted teeth. "Just keep moving."

Without her vague instructions, the driver reared the engine to life and followed her order. All he knew was that she had to tell him to stop at some point, or he would when he eventually got tired.

"Damn it," Kendall sighed, punching the digits on her phone's screen. "Pick up."

Alicia' popped up on the screen when she dialed the phone over and over again. Alicia was her best friend, and right now, Kendall needed all the support that there was.

Still, the call was diverted to voicemail. She wasn't sure if to pop up at her house unannounced or if Alicia would be home. Defeated, she tossed her phone back in her purse and stared out the window as the car kept moving.

This had to be a nightmare. There was no way she was accepting that result. Tomorrow, she will go to another hospital for a proper check-up, and then another, till the result changes. At this point, she would spend the last of her savings.

"Stop!" she exclaimed abruptly, more surprised at her hasty decision.

The driver stepped on the break, bringing the car to a forced halt as the tires screeched. He turned to look at the passenger, to be sure if everything was okay with her.

Unaware of the driver's worry, Kendall paid him off and headed to the club that was just down the street. It was a place she frequented with Alicia when they were either popping bottles for their wins or doing the bottoms up as their crazy challenge.

Seeing she wanted to put down her sorrows in liquor, the driver shook his head in pity and drove off.

"Twelve shots of whiskey," Kendall recklessly said to the bartender.

The bartender blinked nonstop, shocked at her order, causing Kendall to slam her hand on the counter.

"What?" Kendall rolled her eyes. "Do as you're told." She grunted in frustration. She wasn't this spontaneous, well, cancer happened.

"I'm sorry," the bartender muttered and left to pour her order. Minutes later, she returned with Kendall's orders.

In return, Kendall slipped over her debit card and pulled the tray of shots to herself. She swiftly took a glass and downed the contents with a gulp.

"Whoa!" She blew hot air and chuckled wryly. The next second, she laughed sporadically and began sobbing.

A bit composed, she sniffled and wiped her cheeks dry. "Mind your business," she warned the bartender and those who stared before she took another shot.

"Vodka on the rock," Damien's cool voice blended smoothly with the background music. "Add her bills to mine."

"I don't need your pity," Kendall grunted and looked up at the stranger.

The neo-blue light of the club settled on her face. She gulped the third and the fourth and the fifth.

"Easy, damsel," Damien smirked. "How about we don't call it pity, say I see what I like, and I go for it." He shrugged.

He was tall and could pass off as the most handsome guy in the room. His piercing amber-green eyes pulled her into their depths, and he had this aura about him that was hard to shake off.

"Damien," he said, seeing that she was checking him out.

"Your house or mine?" Kendall seized him with her gaze

"Better yet, I have a room," he winked.

Damien drank a generous amount from his glass and set it on the counter before leading her to his room.

"Naughty, huh?"

His hand slipped around her waist and he pulled her to himself, smacking her delicate frame on his hard mass, with her boobs bouncing with reckless abandon.

Kendall moaned against his neck, partly gaping her lips to suck in the cool air. She wasn't sure if it was the dozens of shots she had, but damn! She was too aroused to stop.

He trapped her against the wall and claimed her lips in hot passionate kisses. Needing more at once, she wrapped her arms around his neck and anchored herself to his frame.

He struggled to open the door, clutching her to himself as they managed to get into the room in one piece.

Kendall pulled backward, running her tongue along her lips, and biting down on her bottom lip.

She shrugged off every freaking fabric and stood stack naked, watching him gawk.

His eyes roamed along her flawless skin, trailing every curve of her soft bodice, and settling on the pink cookie in between her thighs, desperate to be bruised.

Claiming her curves, he guided her to the bed, gently leveling her on it, with his bulge poking into her belly button. The smooth fabric of his clothes is the only thing separating their bare skin.

"Oh, my god." She groans. "Take me already."

Getting their clothes off himself was hectic. He returned to where he belonged, right on top of her, and slightly parted her legs for his penetration.

"Hmm."

Kendall groaned, clutching the sheets for support. His length filled her up, causing her to jerk forward.

In a smooth rhythm, Damien rode them, gentle at first, until each thrust got rough and harder by the second. Climax ripped through them, with him collapsing on her, panting and sweating, before rolling on his side.

Kendall drifted to sleep beside the stranger.

Her ringing tone made her jolt from the bed as she reached for it. It was Alicia. Damien was still sleeping peacefully.

Shrugging into her dress, she packed the rest of her things, and sneaked out of the room, to her taunting reality.

While I Was Bleeding Out, He Lit Lanterns For Her

As I lay on the floor of our manor, bleeding out from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, I used my last ounce of strength to call my husband, Cole. I begged him for help, my vision blurring. But the only thing I heard was the clinking of champagne glasses and his mistress's giggle in the background. "Stop the drama, June," Cole snapped, his voice cold. "We're about to go on stage. Don't call again." He hung up, leaving me to die alone on the Persian rug while he accepted an award with another woman on his arm. I woke up in the hospital days later. My baby was gone. They had removed my fallopian tube. Cole finally arrived, smelling of expensive scotch and his mistress's perfume. He didn't hug me. He didn't cry. Instead, he leaned over my hospital bed, pressing his knee into the mattress until my fresh stitches tore open and bled. "You embarrassed me by calling an ambulance," he hissed. "My mistress, Alycia, says you're faking it. Clean yourself up." He left me bleeding again to go announce a $10 million donation to Alycia's "groundbreaking" medical research. I stared at the TV screen, numb. The research Alycia was taking credit for? It was mine. I wrote that patent years ago under a pseudonym. They thought I was just a poor, orphan housewife who needed Cole's money to survive. They had no idea I was actually a billionaire scientist hiding my identity. I pulled the IV needle out of my arm. A drop of blood fell onto the divorce papers I had been hiding. I didn't wipe it off. I signed my name right over it. Then I walked into the bank, reactivated my dormant account with $128 million, and bought the penthouse directly overlooking Cole's house. The mourning widow is dead. The avenger is born.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Jessica C. Dolan

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Madel Cerda

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
