Chapter 1 Bad day

The moon has changed with the sun, and the sky that used to be black has now changed to blue. On a bright morning with the melodious chirping of birds, everyone started their day. The same goes for Aluna Grizelle who is getting ready for work, becoming a staff member in her friend's office. Gives a beautiful and sweet impression of him. After getting ready, Aluna immediately left her room.

"Daddy!" Aluna shouted frantically calling her father who was sitting at the dining table. Not forgetting that she kissed Prayoga- her father's cheek before sitting together.

"Dad, why are you cooking fried rice again?" asked Aluna looking at the two plates of fried rice on the dining table, because she felt guilty if her father cooked food for her.

That made Aluna take a deep breath, then said, "Dad, I know this food must be delicious, but you are sick. Don't do anything yourself, I will cook before going to work."

"Aluna, I've caused you a lot of trouble. Since our company went bankrupt, you're the one who's struggling alone. What's wrong with me cooking for you," replied Prayoga still with her smile.

Aluna got up from her seat and then hugged her father. "Don't talk like that, it's my job to replace you now. The most important thing is that Daddy can recover like before, okay?" She said tightening his embrace.

While Prayoga could only remain silent, and smile at his grown-up and responsible daughter. Prayoga used to be a successful entrepreneur, but it all ended when he was betrayed by his business partner and his company went bankrupt. Since then, Prayoga's heart disease has gotten worse, making him unable to do anything. Until Aluna took over her father's position to work. greedily.

"I'm leaving first, Dad! Take care of yourself, I'll be home early today." Aluna says goodbye to Prayoga.

While Prayoga looks restless, I don't know why he feels something bad will happen. But he tried to keep smiling in front of Aluna, even though his heart felt anxious.

"Be careful Aluna!" said Prayoga, waving his hand and looking at Aluna who had started to move away.

'I hope nothing happens.' Prayoga thought while holding his slightly sore chest.

Not long after that, Aluna arrived at her office. She did her work as usual, but this time she had to finish her work faster because she had promised Prayoga to come home early.

"Aluna, do you still have a lot of work to do?"

Aluna, who was originally busy with her laptop, turned to look at someone called him. "No, it's just a little longer. What's wrong Daniel?" she answered, just glancing at Daniel briefly.

"If it's finished, can you accompany me to the meeting with the client today?" asked Daniel who was still standing next to Aluna.

Aluna seemed to be thinking for a moment, although in the end she nodded and said, "Of course, what time do we go?"

"Fifteen more minutes, you are ready. now." After saying that, Daniel walked away with a light laugh.

While Aluna snorted in annoyance because she thought they would leave in an hour. It turned out that she was only given fifteen minutes, well it seems that later tonight Aluna will work overtime to work on the delayed work.

"It's annoying." Aluna put all the files and laptops she needed into the bag, then went to see Daniel.

Not long after, the two of them left for the place agreed upon by their client. Both of them have prepared presentations so that today's meeting is successful.

"The files are all ready, right, Aluna?" Daniel asked while he was in the car with Aluna.

Aluna checked the files in her bag again, then answered, "Well, it looks like I missed something."

Aluna's answer suddenly made Daniel's face suddenly flat, he looked at Aluna while taking a deep breath. "Aluna, you know this meeting is very important. What files did you miss?" Panicking, Daniel grabbed Aluna's bag a little roughly, then checked it himself.

Aluna laughed seeing Daniel's panicked expression. "Why are you so panicked? Calm down, I'm just kidding. I brought everything, and have prepared everything properly," she said, still laughing mischievously.

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief, they couldn't go back to get the files because they were already quite far away from the office. There won't be time either.

"Why are you so annoying, Aluna!" Daniel pinched Aluna's cheek anxiously, he wanted to kiss her. Eh?

The two of them joked and laughed in the car, to lighten the mood. But without realizing it, the path they took was different from their destination. It wasn't long before Daniel started to feel suspicious, because the road they were on was very quiet and narrow.

"Sir, where have we come?" asked Daniel, frowning.

"Almost there, sir. I took a shortcut to get there quickly," said the driver with a smile that was difficult to interpret.

Daniel and Aluna initially just believed it, not suspicious at all with the driver. But suddenly, their car stopped at an old building. This made Daniel and Aluna confused.

"Sir, why stop here? I made an appointment with my client at the cafe. Why did it end up in the warehouse like this?" Daniel was angry because he was emotional.

The driver didn't answer, he got out of the car and opened the back door. "Shut up! Get out now!" The driver snapped, dragging Daniel out.

"What the hell!" Daniel struggled and he realized that the driver was not someone who worked in his office.

Meanwhile, Aluna was shocked, she also got out of the car to arrest Daniel. But several people dressed in black came out to block him.

"Who are you!" Aluna looked at them one by one, her feet slowly retreating. Because the big man stepped up to her.

For four years, I traced the bullet scar on Chace’s chest, believing it was proof he would bleed to keep me safe. On our anniversary, he told me to wear white because "tonight changes everything." I walked into the gala thinking I was getting a ring. Instead, I stood frozen in the center of the ballroom, drowning in silk, watching him slide his mother's sapphire onto another woman's finger. Karyn Warren. The daughter of a rival family. When I begged him with my eyes to claim me, to save me from the public humiliation, he didn't flinch. He just leaned toward his Underboss, his voice amplified by the silence. "Karyn is for power. Ember is for pleasure. Don't confuse the assets." My heart didn't just break; it incinerated. He expected me to stay as his mistress, threatening to dig up my dead mother’s grave if I refused to play the obedient pet. He thought I was trapped. He thought I had nowhere to go because of my father’s massive gambling debts. He was wrong. With shaking hands, I pulled out my phone and texted the one name I was never supposed to use. Keith Mosley. The Don. The monster under Chace's bed. *I am invoking the Blood Oath. My father’s debt. I am ready to pay it.* His reply came three seconds later, buzzing against my palm like a warning. *The price is marriage. You belong to me. Yes or No?* I looked up at Chace, who was laughing with his new fiancée, thinking he owned me. I looked down and typed three letters. *Yes.*

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.
