"Angela, please stop. Let me talk to you. Please, let me hold me like you asked. I'll do anything pleaseeee my angel", my voice was barely above a whisper and the words that came out sounded like it belonged to someone else. I don't know what I'm begging for, but it's urgent. Something's happening to me, and I love it. "Call me your angel again" she whispered, her lips brushing against my ear. The words sent a shiver down my spine . Her breath was warm against my skin, and as she bit down lightly on the lobe of my ear, I couldn't help but close my eyes, surrendering to her. ____________________________________ Ryan James has built his world around three things: his daughters, his mother and his empire. Everything else is secondary, including women. For him, relationships are transactional, and he's never cared about anyone's happiness... until he meets Angela. Angela is a woman haunted by her past. A stripper and the owner of an adult toy shop, she's learned to run from pain and avoid attachments. But when she agrees to marry the cold, gruff CEO, Ryan, to settle a debt, she's forced into a marriage that demands her to stay. As the two navigate their complicated union, Ryan finds himself drawn to Angela– something he's never felt for anyone before. But can he face the demons that have shaped him? And can Angela stay still long enough to confront her own fears? Or will her past always make her run?
Ryan's pov
"You're doing it wrong, sir. The clip must be turned inside out, so when you insert it into her, it grips her pussy walls tightly", I'd never been spoken to so raw before. And worse by a woman.
I'm at the only sex toy shop I patronize, and this is the first time anyone has ever approached me, much less spoken to me.
Before I could respond, a huge figure appeared beside me, another admirer trying to impress me, no doubt. Ever since those embarrassing photos of me shopping for sex toys leaked to the media, every woman I meet seems to think they need to showcase their 'skills'.
"Here, let me show you", she said.
I force a polite smile. "No, I can do it, thank you for your help!" it was all I could say not to snap at her. I'm having a bad morning. Waking up to a random woman I'd fucked at night, still in bed with me pissed me off and that meant I had to fuck the same woman twice. I never do that.
But she persisted. "I'm only trying to help, you need to ..."
I'd had enough. "I said no. Are you deaf?" My patience had worn thin and not even the fear of being on blogs the next day can stop this outburst.
"You really don't have to shout, I was only trying to -", she stammers.
But I cut her off, my anger boiling over. "Get your fat self out of my sight! I'm losing my patience and I'd hate to do something bad to you. You're not my type. Is that clear enough?" I snap.
I know I have gone too far, but desperation drove me. I never know how to handle unwanted advances from aggressive women.
I scan the store, everyone had retreated, leaving us alone. I turn to look at her. She stood frozen, her face hidden behind a mask, but I could see the unshed tears welling up in her eyes, fear evident in every tense line of her posture. Then, without a word, she turns and run.
Just great. Another drama I didn't sign up for. I can see the headlines already 'Billionaire CEO Ryan James in heated argument with masked woman at a sex toy shop. Who is this woman?'
I finish up my shopping and head to the counter to pay, but then I catch a glimpse of her disappearing through the door. Oh, fuck... is she running? Was I really that bad?
Even Lindsey, the woman at the counter who usually flirts with me despite my grumpiness and obvious lack of interest, is unusually quiet today. Normally, I would appreciate her sudden silence but not today.
"Lindsey right? This is for you", I say to her for the first time, handing her a generous tip. It's twice the amount Taylor, my head of security usually leaves for her silence. I should've let Taylor come in with me, he always knows how to handle these situations.
"I'd like to apologize to the lady who just left. Could you please call her?" I ask.
"Yes, Mr Ryan", her voice drips with seduction. That was fast.
"Thank you".
My phone rings, and I know I'm in trouble. Caleb, my best friend and business partner, is expecting me, and I'm running late. Two hours late!
"Heyyyy", I say, trying to sound playful.
"Don't heyyyy me, where the hell are you, man? Your dad's here, and I smell trouble. She's here too", Caleb says, his tone serious. She refers to my accidental baby mama, a pain in my ass.
Of course, my father's accomplice is with him. Could this day get any worse?
"Don't worry man, I'll be there soon. I just need to apologize to the lady I snapped at. It was bad, and I think it got worse. I've gotta make it right, you know?"
"Just a lady? Or is there more?" Caleb asks, suddenly forgetting I was supposed to be in a hurry.
I know I have to shut him up before he makes a big deal out of it, like he always does. "Nah man, she's nowhere near my type. She's fat, huge and boring" he knows what I like, so I'm hoping that this will put an end to any ideas he has.
"Whatever man, get here ASAP".
I turn and see her disappear again. She's definitely running, and oh shit, she heard me. This day just keeps getting worse.
Lindsey shows up, her eyelash doing that annoying flutter thing. "Sorry, Mr Ryan, she left through the back door".
I know she is lying, but there's nothing more I can do. "Okay, please let her know how sorry I am for my outburst. Have a nice day," I say loudly, hoping she hears me from wherever she was hiding.
"Yes, Mr. Ryan. Have a great day, sir."
I let out a frustrated sigh. My phone call has definitely made things worse.
As Taylor pulls into the office, I see Dad's car, and my heart sinks. This is a disaster.
My security team- all seven of them, looks uncertain, torn between getting out of the car or staying put. I can't blame them. My father is bad news.
I step into my office, and I'm greeted by an annoying sight.
Joan, my baby mama, casually chatting with my dad like they're old friends.
"Ah, son, you're back. I thought you were avoiding me" he says in sarcasm.
"I wish I could", I mutter under my breath.
"Hey handsome, did you miss me?" Joan says, her attempt at seduction downright disgusting.
I ignore Joan, and turn my focus to my Dad. "Hi, Father. You didn't mention you'd be coming in."
"Do I need to call before I come here?"
"Considering this is my company, yes, you do".
"Won't you say hello to Joan? That's the mother of your children, you know. I raised you to be better, boy."
No you didn't.
He didn't even care that I existed until the award show with my mom. Then, suddenly he shows up the next week to 'get to know his son better'.
"What do you need this time? Why are you here? I know you're not here for the kids, they're fine with mom, I know. Another Birkin or a trip to the Maldives? You should've called Thomas. Coming here was a waste of time," I say to Joan.
I don't have time for her seduction or the energy to deal with Joan. I make sure Thomas, my accountant handles her constant financial demands. It's easier that way and helps me avoid situations like this.
"Well, I came to discuss something very important with you, son. And before you say anything, yes, it concerns her", my father says, his eyes locked on mine.
"Okay, what is it?" I ask, my tone stern and impatient.
"Joan told me you asked for custody of the kids for the holiday. Is that right?" he asks.
"I didn't realize asking my daughters to spend the holiday with me was a crime", I snap, wondering where this was headed.
"Oh, not at all. But Joan's parents think it's a bad idea. So, I've decided the girls won't be spending the holiday with you."
"What?" My anger starts to rise. I can feel my blood boiling.
I will kill him.
My father shifts uncomfortably. Good, he'll need all the space he can get to run.
"You're always at work. You need a woman at home to take care of the girls. I think you should marry Joan and maybe have another child, a boy this time. That way, the girls will have a baby brother and a stable home instead of shuttling between two countries."
Joan's face lit up with a shy smile, and I can feel my inner demons rising. Is he out of his mind? He knows I won't marry just anyone for the sake of my girls. He's trying to manipulate me into marrying Joan.
"And if I refuse to get married before the holidays? What happens?" I ask coldly.
My father's expression turns cold. "Fine, then. If you're not married by the end of the month, the girls will spend the holiday with Joan's relatives in Switzerland. If you take this to court, you'll just traumatize them. I'm sure you don't want that."
The end of the month is in a week!
