Quinn Morgan couldn't look away from the news, feeling her heart ache as she watched the images of her husband with his first love playing repeatedly on the screen.
Today was her third wedding anniversary and she had prepared a special dinner and gifts for her husband, Sebastian Meyer, even when she knew he might not remember what day it was for them.
"I thought he was at the office, what was he doing at the airport?" She asked herself, trying to brush away the fact that he went to pick up a woman.
She leaned back on the sofa as she inhaled a deep breath, waiting for Sebastian to return.
After sitting for what seemed like hours and he hadn't returned yet, she checked her phone only to see that Sebastian had already texted her that he couldn't make it home that night.
She shook her head in fury, the anger surging through her like an electric current. She replied to his text message almost immediately after she read it.
I saw the news. Are you sleeping out because of her?
She didn't get a response as she paced the length of the sitting room, her steps quick and agitated.
"I guess I won't get a response." She mumbled under her breath.
She lost her appetite and walked into her room, her chest aching with a heavy and suffocating pain that seemed to spread through her whole body.
She knew Alice was his first love and he hadn't gotten over her even after she chose his brother over him. She had been married to him for three years and he never showed any affection towards her except during intimacy.
Quinn thought she could make him love her and forget about Alice if she became a dutiful wife, but she was wrong.
"Quinn, don't think too much about it. Just have a good sleep." She consoled herself, before drifting into sleep.

The soft morning light filtered through the window and cast a glow on Quinn Morgan's face. She wearily opened her eyes, her eyeballs red and heavy as a result of a sleepless night. She clutched her phone and swiped it open, the screen filled with unanswered texts and calls to her husband, Sebastian.
She climbed out of bed and strode downstairs through the grand hallway of the mansion. She was about to pack up the dinner that she had prepared the previous night when she heard the door creak open.
Sebastian strolled in with a woman with a burst of hushed laughter. Quinn had never seen him so happy like that before. He was always exuding a cold demeanor when he was with her.
She walked up to him in fury and yelled, "Sebastian, where were you last night? Did you forget what day it was? Why did you bring her home?"
Sebastian shot her a murderous look and walked past her, climbing the stairs to his room. She clenched her hands into tight fists beside her and bit her trembling lips.
"Shall I answer your questions on his behalf" Alice broke the sudden silence after Sebastian left.
A malicious smile tugged at her lips as she continued, "We were together last night, happy to hear that?"
"What was your other question again? Oh, your wedding anniversary. He remembered, but he wasn't interested in celebrating with you. Isn't that how it has been since you two got married?"
Quinn's breath hitched, and her chest felt as if it were being squeezed by an invisible hand.
"Isn't it too shameful to spend the night with your husband's brother?" She asked, trying to control the rage burning inside her.
"One interesting thing about you is that you are too naive. Just wait and see how Sebastian becomes mine. He was mine to begin with, if I hadn't left, do you think he would ever marry a woman like you?"Alice paused and continued, "Look, I'm back to take what belonged to me, which is Sebastian and just so you know, I'm carrying his baby." Alice said, giving Quinn a death stare before climbing up the stairs.
