Forced To Be His Luna Chapter 1 Asunder

A young adult man around his early twenties threaded on a field of fine loamy soil, watering the beautiful red roses that grew from its depth.

In a few seconds, a fine young lady around his age came through the backyard and sits on the pavement of the bungalow. She wore a contagious smile with the warmthness of the sun brightening her face.

"Need help?"

He turned around with a degree of shock, it seems he didn't see her come in. "No, I'm almost done."

He stood up stretching his waist while relieving his eyes on the fineness of the garden at the same time. "My mom would have loved this. She used to force me to help her out in the garden everytime."

He walked towards her and took a seat near her. "I miss them you know...my parents. They were gone too early."

She gently rested her head on his shoulders, "You have me now, Neo."

Suddenly a loud bang took the silence. It's the sound of a door crushing down.

Neo jumped up on his feet in alert and picked up a shovel to guard the backyard door. "Ava, stay behind me."

Confused, she walked behind him, with her eyes desperately scanning the closed door for what is to come.

Bam! The door is kicked open by a muscular man. In the same instance a dozen of men poured in and grabbed Neo putting his face down on the ground while Ava stood in their midst surprised at the person who came in last. "Hendrix, what're you doing here?"

"I warned you didn't I? You can either be my Luna by choice, or by force. Grab her," he ordered the men who grabbed both her hands and pinned her to the ground.

Hendrix gave off a mischievous smile at Neo and then approached Ava, loosening his belt.

"No!" Like a Lion's roar Neo's voice echoed through the wind while he jumped up on his feets and twisted a man's neck in mere seconds. However, the man behind him immediately stabbed him with a syringe containing some lethal liquid. Neo fell to the ground like his soul has left him.

At this point, Ava is out of options. She quickly utilized the only part of her that was not in captivity; her mouth. She screamed and cried, as she could not escape their grip.

"Don't worry sweetheart, it'd all be over soon," Hendrix dropped his trousers.

...

Hours later, as the sun slowly crawled out of the sky about to abolish the evening atmosphere, Neo opened his eyes and gradually got up from the ground.

At first he soothed his arm, the exact area where the syringe has been stabbed, but then his brain recalled the incident. "Ava," he turned around bearing the pain of a failed man and rushed into the house to pick up his car keys.

Hendrix is the alpha's heir, so naturally he would be driving into his own grave. But it seemed as if Neo was prepared to pick a fight with the devil if he had to.

As soon as he picked his car keys, his phone ringed. It was Ava's number. Without letting even a millisecond slide by he picked up the phone with hasty fingers and answered.

"Ava, where are you?"

"Hello. There's a woman here being thrown around by some big men. Her phone fell down, I thought I should call for help," a voice echoed from the other end of the phone.

Neo hurried out of the house and headed to his car, "Where are they?" He questioned desperately.

"The Atlas hotel."

As soon as the words leaved the man's mouth he started his car engine and drove off in speed.

Today Neo didn't cosplay as a good citizen, neither was he conscious of any other vehicle on the road. His speedometer ran all the way up with his steering wheel withstanding constant turnarounds.

His driving lessons has escaped his mind while the desire to beat the speed of light came to dominate him.

Sooner than ever, he arrived at the hotel and held a quick brake. By now the night sky has overshadowed the area but this wasn't an excuse for the hotel exterior to be as quiet as it is.

He got off his car and raced into it regardless but is soon greeted with the same fate on the inside, an empty building. Still yet persisted. "Ava?" He yelled on top of his voice. "Ava?"

Suddenly all the lights went off and the emergency lights started blinking on and off.

"You should have stayed home, boy," a cold masculine voice echoed through the wind.

"Where is she?" Neo turned around looking for whence the voice came from.

"Oh, your little Ava? The Alpha heir wants her. All you can do now is cry."

"She is my mate," Neo yelled in annoyance.

"So what? You think the moon goddess will come down and fight for you?"

"Oh I intend to fight for myself," he replied.

"Quit the brave act, kid. You've been set up," the man came out of the shadows and stood some inches behind Neo. "He would have just killed you, but he wanted to break Ava's love for you first."

Neo turned around sharply as he noticed someone behind him and assumed a battle stance.

"No need to fight, it's over," the old man calmed him. "Evil will always win against good. You see good is too careful not to hurt the innocent, but Hendrix, he doesn't care if she gets hurt. He raped her, and he's still gonna have her. And as soon as he despises her he'd throw her out of his sight, or simply end her life then pick another whore."

"I don't want lectures from you, old man," Neo shushed him. "Are you gonna tell me where she is? Or die trying to hide it."

The old man chuckled for a second, "Your father was a good fighter, I'd let him do the lecturing."

Dark fog suddenly overwhelmed the room keeping the old man out of sight. Even Neo couldn't see his own self.

"Show yourself, Moonshadow," he yelled out the man's name.

In a short while, the fog cleared with the area suddenly changing. An uncountable number of dead civilians and cops lay on the floor with their blood flooring on the ground like a small stream.

Neo took three steps backwards in shock but then he sees blood all over his hands. The clock ticked with more and more confusing occurrences overawing Neo's mind.

He soon realized that his cloth is soaked in blood and everyone of his fingernails had little bit of human flesh in them. He raised his own hands slowly and stared at his palm like they were someone else's.

Suddenly the cacophony of sirens filled the area with their lights blinking on and off like Christmas trees.

"This is NYPD, put down your weapons and come out of the building with your hands up," a voice rebounds through a speaker.

"I repeat..."

Neo's mind blurred cutting out the rest of the cop's statement. He fell on his knees with his eyes popping wide open. His breathing intensified, with his mouth exhaling air alongside his nose.

In a second the cops poured into the building in their numbers. Seeing him motionless, one of them smashed his nightstick against the back of Neo's skull, watching him fall to the ground like a bag of cement which was made to stand.

...

The old man who was talking to Neo moments before the arrest walked into the backseat of a white Limo at the corner of the street and shut the door.

"We're done here."

He told a man around his age, seated at the other end of the Limo in a all white outfit.

"Did you watch the cops cuffs him?"

"Since when have I erred on a job, Alpha Aiden?" the old man reminded him of his reputation.

"Here," the alpha threw a card at the Moonshadow. "An invitation card, my son is marrying the girl tomorrow."

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
