Become A Babysitter Chapter 1 An Unexpected Meeting

Naya, a 19-year-old girl with neatly tied jet black hair and bright brown eyes, stood in the corner of a large and luxurious room. The room was filled with expensive furniture, and a large window on the right side let in the morning sunlight softly. When Rafael, a handsome man in his thirties with dark brown hair and sharp eyes full of sadness, stepped closer, Naya felt her whole body tremble.

Her family's financial condition had been critical since her mother fell seriously ill. The expensive treatment forced Naya to find additional work. When an offer to become a wet nurse for a CEO's child came, she couldn't refuse, even though she had to leave her school. She felt caught between urgent needs and a dream that had to be sacrificed.

Naya had spent the past few weeks struggling. Although she was starting to get used to her new routine, her first meeting with Rafael was still tense. She knew Rafael was a widower whose wife had left him, who had chosen to go with her lover. Naya heard stories about how cold Rafael was and how he decided to take care of his son who was just over a year old after his wife left.

As Rafael approached Naya, the atmosphere between them grew tense. The sound of his footsteps on the marble of the quiet room made Naya even more nervous. She tried to keep her distance, but Rafael was already too close. Her body felt stiff, and her heart was beating fast.

Naya stepped back a little and asked, "Sir, can I help you?"

Rafael got closer, making Naya feel trapped between the wall and Rafael's body. In a low voice, Rafael answered, "I just want to make sure if Varo's breast milk source is good or not."

His hand was on Naya's chest, blocking her movement. Naya felt her body stiffen even more. She didn't expect to be in a situation like this. So far, Rafael had always seemed cold and indifferent, but his current attitude made her feel very uncomfortable.

With a trembling voice, Naya begged, "Please... this isn't true."

Rafael grinned thinly and said, "It's not true, you say? Let's see."

Rafael's voice implied a tone that was difficult to understand. Naya felt confused and cornered. Although Rafael had not shown any obvious interest before, now his attitude seemed to show another side that she had never seen.

When she first met Rafael, Naya felt pressured. Rafael invited her to talk in his spacious office. With simple clothes and a face still full of worry, Naya felt pressure from Rafael's sharp gaze. Rafael sat behind his desk, and Naya sat in the chair provided in front of the desk.

Rafael started the conversation with a firm tone, "Naya, I want to know more about your background. Why did you decide to take this job?"

Naya took a deep breath before answering, "My mother is seriously ill, sir. The cost of her treatment is very expensive. I have no other choice but to work here to help her."

Rafael nodded, his face looking thoughtful. Although he still felt the pain of his wife's betrayal, he could not help but feel sympathy for Naya, who seemed to be struggling hard for her family.

"I understand," Rafael said. "But you have to know, Varo is everything to me. I can't let just anyone take care of him."

Naya nodded and promised, "I understand, sir. I will do my best for Varo. I know how important he is to you."

The first meeting between Naya and Varo took place a few days after that conversation. Naya felt anxious when she saw the little baby. Varo, who was still very young, looked very vulnerable and dependent on the people around him. Mixed feelings hit Naya when she first held Varo. The baby looked at her with big, curious eyes.

Naya called out softly to Varo, "Hello, Varo. I'll take care of you now, okay?"

Varo seemed hesitant at first, but when Naya started breastfeeding, she felt comfortable and calm. Naya felt warmth and closeness when Varo held her finger, in contrast to the tension and anxiety she had felt earlier.

Meanwhile, Rafael watched from a distance. A mixture of worry and admiration filled his heart. Although he was still hurting from his wife's betrayal, he began to notice Naya as more than just a nanny. There was something about Naya that made him feel comfortable, although he couldn't yet explain exactly what it was.

After some time, Rafael approached Naya and Varo. "How is it, Naya? Does Varo feel comfortable with you?"

Naya, who was still breastfeeding Varo, looked at Rafael and replied, "Yes, sir. Varo seems calm and content. I hope he will feel better."

Rafael nodded and said, "We'll see. I'll monitor your progress and Varo's. I hope you can live up to my expectations."

Rafael couldn't ignore his growing attraction to Naya. He felt there was more than just work between them. However, the hurt and trauma from the past made it difficult for him to express his feelings clearly.

Naya also felt the tension in their interactions. She didn't know how to act. Even though she felt Rafael was starting to pay attention to her in a different way, she still tried to maintain professionalism in her work. Every time Rafael approached, Naya felt her heart and mind stir.

As time went by, the interactions between Naya and Rafael became more frequent. Naya tried to adjust to her new routine and take care of Varo with all her heart. Rafael, on the other hand, struggled with his deepening feelings for Naya. Even though he tried not to show his attraction, he couldn't avoid the fact that Naya was starting to become more than just a nanny to Varo.

One night, after Naya had finished taking care of Varo and was getting ready to go home, Rafael stopped her. "Naya, thank you for everything you've done for Varo. You've become an important part of his life."

Naya smiled weakly and replied, "Thank you, sir. I just did what I could for him."

Rafael felt caught between gratitude and deeper feelings. He didn't know how to express his feelings to Naya, but he knew that her presence meant a lot to his life and Varo's life.

That night, when Naya returned to her modest home, she reflected on what had happened throughout the day. Her relationships with Rafael and Varo had become more complex, and she felt increasingly confused about her own feelings. The decision to take this job might have changed her life more than she had imagined.

Naya looked at the photo of her mother on her desk and said to herself, "What will happen next? Can I face all this?"

Naya knew that this journey had just begun, and she had to be ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. Rafael and Varo had become an important part of her life, and she had to find a way to balance her work and her increasingly complicated feelings.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
