I spent a fortune offering a reward for the whereabouts of the movie star. To my surprise, he appeared right in front of me, and I immediately knelt down. The next day, news of my proposal to the movie star skyrocketed to trending topics. And all of this happened because I had bound myself to a system that makes me fart whenever I talk about love!

The Dating Debuff System Chapter 1

Chapter 1

My name is Michelle, a small-time actress with a pretty face and a kind heart.

Originally, I could have had a sweet romance and shone brightly in the entertainment industry. But to my dismay, at the age of 18, I developed a bizarre condition that made me fart frequently. Whenever I had feelings for a guy, my body seemed to sense it and would start farting uncontrollably. The result was-

During a confession: "Michelle, did you eat something bad? Your farts stink!"

While dating: "Let's break up. I can't stand you farting every time we kiss!"

During a blind date: "Miss Simpson, you have the face of an angel, but I can't be with someone who farts like that."

...

At first, I thought I had some weird digestive issue and sought out famous doctors, but to no avail. Until one day, a voice sounded in my ear.

-Ding Dong

"Hello, host. My name is Alex. You have been bound to a system that makes you fart whenever you fall in love."

"As your relationship progresses, the system will increase the smell and frequency of your farts."

What?! This ridiculous and disgusting system was a first for me. Other people's systems rewarded them with money for completing tasks, and they couldn't be happier. My system, however, rewarded me with stinky farts whenever I fell in love!

The world had truly turned into something beyond my imagination...

"This is not a reward, host. This is your punishment."

Huh? What did I do to deserve such a catastrophic punishment??

The system searched and then played a video for me. In the video, I was bullying a little boy by secretly putting a cockroach in his backpack, scaring him so much that he fell and rolled on the ground.

"After Charlie gave you a resentful look, we bound this system to you, which activated when you turned eighteen."

"As long as he personally forgives you, the system will automatically lift the punishment."

"I just thought he was good-looking and wanted to bully him to get his attention."

"Yes, host, you did successfully get his attention. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here..."

Good grief, after a thorough search, I discovered that Charlie was now a movie star. No wonder I was still a little known artist...

So, I spent a lot of money posting a reward online for real-time updates on the movie star Charlie.

System: "Host, you could have just asked me directly."

"Hmph, I'd rather die than bow to evil forces!"

"Host, perhaps you should look in the mirror. It seems the evil force is you??"

I pretended to be a die-hard fan of Charlie and joined his fan club. Soon, I found out where he lived. To end my stinky fart condition as soon as possible, I rushed to his villa.

Just as I was worrying about how to get in, Charlie appeared in front of me. I immediately dropped to my knees, bowing low to the ground.

System: "Ahem, host, you really don't need to be so... sincere."

Me: "What do you know? This is called striking first to gain the upper hand!"

System: "Yes, I do know, because my name is Alex."

I looked up nervously and stole a glance at Charlie, only to see him frown slightly.

"Charlie? Do you remember me? The one who put a cockroach in your backpack when we were kids, Michelle."

After a moment of silence, the movie star slowly spoke, "Yes, I remember."

Oh my gosh! He really remembered, no wonder I was bound to this damned system.

"Please forgive me. I'll do anything to make it up to you."

I grabbed Charlie's hand and cried bitterly, showcasing my acting skills to the fullest.

System: "Hmm... the host indeed has great acting skills."

Charlie leaned down, seemingly interested.

"Are you serious?"

I nodded vigorously like a bobblehead, "Absolutely!"

"I need a supporting actress for my script. You can take the role."

"Oh, what??" Such a good opportunity??

Charlie walked into the villa without looking back, and I finally came to my senses.

"But you haven't said you forgive me yet!"

System: "Host, it seems you'll have to wait for the next time."

I was the "perfect" fiancée for Harrison Vincent—regal, silent, and low-maintenance. For two years, I suppressed my career as a forensic accountant to be the "safe" choice that polled well with his family’s shareholders. But at a high-society gala, I found him in a VIP lounge with a socialite wrapped around him. He told her I was just a "boring art piece display stand" he had to drag around until his trust fund was unlocked. I didn't scream or make a scene. I mentally filed a "bad debt" report, tossed my emerald engagement ring into a glass of stale champagne, and walked out of his life. That same night, I found myself in a dark jazz club bathroom, using a strip of my velvet dress to stop the bleeding of a mysterious man with a gunshot wound and eyes like grey flint. The fallout was immediate. Harrison blocked my credit cards, assuming I’d crawl back once I couldn't afford rent. His mother called me a "nobody" while simultaneously begging me to handle the family's medical emergencies because they were too panicked to function. They treated me like a tool they could discard and pick up at will, never realizing I had already moved my things into a cramped Brooklyn apartment. I couldn't understand why they thought I was still their puppet, or why a black Maybach began following me through the city streets. I had saved a stranger's life and ended a toxic engagement, yet the air around me felt heavier and more dangerous than ever. The truth came out at the hospital when the most feared man in the city stepped out of the shadows. It was the man from the bathroom—Collis Vincent, the ruthless head of the family. He didn't just humiliate Harrison; he took my hand in front of everyone and made a chilling declaration. "Harrison is a fool to have let you go, Helena. Your arrangement with him is terminated. From now on, you'll be working with me."

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
